The plan was to have him be "re-born," then kill Harry. If Harry didn't make it back, then no one would have known that Voldy was back. I think JK just had this cool idea in her head and wanted to write about it. It is cool, just silly.

I think GoF is the worst one. NOT because it is poorly written or anything; the plot is stupid. Voldy has "Moody" make sure Harry gets into the Tourney and makes sure he wins it. Just so he can touch a port key. WHY DIDN'T "MOODY" JUST HAVE HIM TOUCH SOME FUCKIN RANDOM CUP AND BRING HIM THERE? I know he wanted him to make it look like it was an accident or some shit, but still. The plot is just wayyyy to far fetched. I enjoyed the book and all, that just realllllly bothers me. Mine is: 3 7 6 5 1 2 4 5 and 6 flip all the time. And the only reason I have 2 above 4 is I love how JK introduced Horcruxes soo early in the series. It's one of the few movies/books/TV shows where I enjoy every single part. For example, I don't like Buffy Season 1. It's horrible. But GoF isn't horrible (it just has a silly plot), I just like it a lot less than the others.

I always thought the book was more about the characters than the stories. Harry's growth into a man, Ron's triumphs on the Quidditch pitch, Harry/Sirius' relationship etc.

What's the big deal about using them? It doesn't hurt anyone and just select all. It then looks like the whole thread isn't black anymore.
