I reckon TMC has depression, all his posts are based around 'Why is 'x' worse now' or 'How did 'x' fall from grace' 'What was the worst year for 'x', etc.

Getting rid of that, having the general thread moderated regularly was one of the best things to happen to be fair. Seems a lot more discussion happens now. I don't mind this TMC bloke too much, at least he's trying to start some discussion, though he does seem to be blowing his wad all at once, which I can see being tiring for some people. Only ever seems to be the same few people who have the confidence to strike up a discussion topic outside of CWDWAT.

Star Trek has such a large core fan base that I don't think it really fits on that list. OK, so Enterprise was dropped after 4 seasons, but that didn't stop them funding to make another movie. If they were to make another TV series, you know it'll grab a high percentage of the TV share. As for the movies, again, you know it'll get the hardcore fans going to watch it (and bitch about it no matter what) and they'll rarely get new fans in due to stigma or not knowing whats going on. So the 'reboot' will do good to freshen up the franchise, new look, it starts from the beginning, but will be familiar enough for the core fanbase to relate to (and feed their bitching). I agree that Jaws needs to be on the list, as does Batman. X-Men as a collective is probably over, but as a Franchise its fine. They have enough characters and backstories (and time frames) to delve into they'll be able to pump out a number of films - see Wolverine. Spiderman while it has confounded those of us who have read the comics (or at the least seen the Cartoons) with its story arch in the third film, the average movie goer will enjoy and still go to see a Spiderman 4 without a second thought. So, by no means is that a Fallen Franchise. Superman I agree with this. Superman Returns, even as a standalone film, was such a strange movie, that if it was the only Superman movie someone had seen or even heard about, its got a hard job to regain some of that crowd. A Son out of no where, 90 mins of build up to Superman lifting an island (that should have killed him) into space, and other annoying moments. AvP its fallen due to our expectations, but from what its offered and continued to offer, its gave what it set out to give. A mindless action movie for the jocks and MTV lovers.

Getting Black Lushus started on how horrible the GI Joe flick is turni
Obi Chris Kenobi replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in Television & Film
Don't think they ever came out over here in the UK, I'll see if I can 'find' them. I guess, once he starts to wear the kit, he'll fit the frame and demeanor of the Cobra Commander anyway. He's a weedy guy with a great mind. -
WWE General Discussion - February 2009
Obi Chris Kenobi replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
That is a pretty well written letter and has some great points. Even me, someone who has only a basic grip on economy and would probably take the govermnents word they're doing a good job, have had my eyes opened by that letter. I just hope the fact it was written by Glenn Jacobs (Kane) doesn't detract from the points it made. -

It's ashame thats all you know of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, because he's developed into a fanatastic actor. I saw him in that film with Heath Ledger a few years ago. 10 Things I Hate About You, I think it was. -
The weekly Raw folder's are pretty shit to be honest. All those random one word, or two words made into oneword, username people that appear out of no where scare the hell out of me.
-
That is so very, very, true. In the future he should release the editor to people WAY in advance (rather then a week) so they can get some data out in time for release, or shortly thereafter.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge Robbie Keane super fan, but if I had signed for a club think they wanted me, only to arrive and find they didn't. Then hear my manager in public say he's happy to have me and I'm a Liverpool player, only for him to say otherwise behind closed doors - I might complain as well. Up there with Anelka then!

He was toad, his face had loads of make up and plastic over it (see Darth Maul). -
In honor of TMC - I finally feel like 24 has jumped the Shark. I can't take it even remotely serious anymore, they may as well insert a 80's Sitcom Laughter track to the fucker.

I'm still working on and off on real world data for TEW09. I'll probably never finish it, but I'm not really liking some of the data already out there. Game seems decent, but don't think I'll pay for anymore TEWs for a while.

He didn't want him. They signed him for a lot of money. Rafa spat his dummy out and refused to play Keane unless he HAD to, yet kept saying he was staying (obviously meant 'staying on the bench'). Board sold Keane to save face (lost money) and probably increased the tensions between board and manager. If that had been Newcastle, then they'd have been a whole hoohar and media fanfare about it (probably deserved), but I still think it makes Rafa look like a joke. He's constantly airing his feud with the board in public and its going to backlash against him sooner or later. EDIT: This must make Robbie Keane the most expensive total transfer paid fee in active football?

It's noon, and I'm already drunk! Woooooooo!

You lasted 2 weeks on the wagon, not bad, shame you've fallen off and start e-fights with everyone. Suppose its better then real fights and ending up in hospital/jail. Was it not winning Poster of the Year that tipped you over the edge? -
I say increase the amount of sugar he has. I want to see him crack under the pressure of jumping the shark.
-
The whole things a joke and makes Tottenham look like a mess (though they made good profit). It also doesn't reflect kindly on Rafa, who also looks powerless to those above him.

"Jump The Shark" Has Finally Jumped the Shark
Obi Chris Kenobi replied to TMC1982's topic in Television & Film
Possibly. I always thought ALF looked like Henry Winkler. Do you look like ALF? -
The DLC can be accessed at anytime during the game. You'll get a radio message asking you to go to a location.

Superbowl XLIII: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizona Cardinals
Obi Chris Kenobi replied to a topic in Sports
THis one is over, think I'm going to go to bed. Even when they get to Big Ben and look like its going to be a sack, he just stands there for a few minutes and throws it OoB. Poor Cardinals - guess 2 upsets against the form book was just asking for too much. -

Was that the big advert during the Super Bowl? Wasn't there suppose to be a GI Joe trailer or something too? Big Ben dancing in and out of the pocket is insane. And there's been some very strange calls by the refs this game. -
Probably a bit over priced for what you get, it'll last a few hours. It doesn't really expand the game (though I guess it gives a little back story) and its mainly shooter based. I enjoyed it for what it was though. As long as you know what you're buying (ie - this ISN'T the major DLC) then you won't go crazy like the Fallout3 board. I'd give it a 7/10

Superbowl XLIII: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Arizona Cardinals
Obi Chris Kenobi replied to a topic in Sports
That has to be over ruled. Wasn't there an incident like that a few years ago? Where it wasn't a forward pass, but it was ruled as one? EDIT: That's what I was thinking of, the 'The Tuck Rule' thing. -

Its been a pretty subdued Super Bowl so far, a part from that amazing Pick Six. -

Wonder what might have been said in the Cardinal locker room at half time. Maybe 'The Boss' has inspired them.
