WWE General Discussion - January 2009

Are Manu and Cody Rhodes have some sort of chest hair battle? -
I enjoyed the GRAW games, nice story that built up to some nice set plays and climatic events. Though it does go a little '24' in the 2nd one. If you get them, let me know what the online community is like, as I might pick it up again if people are still playing. I miss a good slower FPS multiplayer deathmatch game. Call of Duty used to be good, but its full of twats at the moment. Singing British kids, the US v UK wars and general xbox live shit that makes you want to quit.

Thank fuck for that.

Not sure if this counts (Marvin probably had them with his cheap picks) but World's Oldest Person has died. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/22/20090102/tts-u...an-ca02f96.html

Wouldn't be surprised if your machine stopped working soon

To be fair those two do look decent, and I'll probably pick them up. However, is that all the PS3 is at the moment - a 2 game a year machine?
-
So, what do I, the PS3 owner who has an Xbox360 and uses his PS3 to watch DVDs and stuff downloaded from the Internet, have to look forward to, game wise, on the PS3? I have LittleBIGplanet, MGS4 and Oblivion.

So.. Leena, what's the story behind that?

Talking Goat Studios Directors Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's 11,12,13, Erin Brockovich, Traffic) Noted for being able to work with great actors and getting steller performances from them. As shown with Ocean's 11/12/13 he can have a lot of stars around at once, and put on a strong ensemble without any egos going out of check. Can mix it up between light comedy, quick cuts, and strong drama. A strong director choice. Seems to stick to certain actors - Matt Damon, George Clooney, etc. Danny Boyle (Shallow Grave, Trainspotting, Life Less Ordinary, 28 Days Later, Sunshine) Talented UK director that can bring to life strong characters from paper to screen. Would be best director a UK Cinema type film with a rookie cast, based around a characters development or struggle. Best when working with UK or unknown actors - though he does have his favorites: Ewan McGregor & Cillian Murphey come to mind. Ron Howard (Apollo 13, EDtv, A Beautiful Mind, Willow, Da Vince Code) Seems to set a standard for his work. It might not jump out of the screen, but each decade he's released a major box office/Oscar buzz movie. His movies keep a good pace, clean direction and some OK character development. Has been proven to work well with a range of Actors, though does seem to prefer to work with Tom Hanks. Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, 'Spaced' (TV)) A new comer to Hollywood, and to be honest a bit of a niche director. Has only proven to work well in a certain type of environment, with the same cast usually in the same roles. If you want twisted surreal comedy, with sharp cuts and trippy camera work, then Wright is your man. Works well with Simon Pegg. Guy Ritchie (Lockstock, Snatch, Revolver) Another director with a niche (and almost a cliché of his own work) however, no one does England Gangster movies like Guy Ritich. He was to cinema, what Britpop was to the music scene in the UK during the 90s. He placed an attitude and subculture up on the screen and it worked for the times. Ideal to get across the attitude and behavior of character roles for movies.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

Online Internet dating? Cos I mean... ha? -
This thread is pretty awesome. It has Matt Young pimping the smugness in some iconic pictures, and a girl with large boobs. Now if only it had Matt Young pimping the smugness with the Jackson5.

Thanks Broward, I've sent an offer. Even though we've got a good FS in the team, I might try one of you guys at CB until we get some CBs signed - if that's ok?
-
Still looking for players, if anyone needs some XP for their guys.

I'm in Chriswok

Aye will do, cheers!

I own a team if anyone needs a team for a season for some XP. Its the lower leagues of South America, so if you have some high level players, I reckon we could storm through it. Average level is around lvl27 or so.

This would make 3 games for PS3 if I bought it Hoping its good.

Free Christmas Theme on the marketplace.

I liked his stint in WCW as Meng and Faces of Fear. You always knew what you were going to get in a Meng/FoF match, lots of hard hitting no questions asked brawling. For some reason I liked the match between FoF & 4 Horsemen on Nitro, where Mongo and Meng squared off in a 3 point stance v Sumo stance mini battle. Might have to crank up the old nitros again.

Ubisoft has had a pretty poor year for game content. PoP and Assassin's Creed basically the same thing, both only last a few hours and I could never bring myself to play it again. On top of that, they wanted Splinter Cell to be in a similar mould!

Yeah, have to admit I was a little 'huh' when I finally saw HOME - the thing to turn the PS3 around. What a waste of time.

I had a dream last night that my xbox got RROD and started to grind up the DVD that was inside. I haven't turned it on yet...
