Anyone here who plays American Football? I'm looking to join a team in the local area (Gateshead Senators) when the new season starts in January 09. Even though I've watched it for years, I've never really played it before, so I was hoping for some advice and suggestions on how to prepare and what position might be best for myself. I'm 5'10" around 185lbs, stocky built, used to have a lot of pace (probably gone now), and I'd say I was sturdy (hard to knock off feet). I used to play football (socccer) and do ju-jitsu. I cycle to and from work every day, which is about a 5 mile round trip (could always increase it if it'd help). And occassionally do weights at the gym (can increase that as well). Thanks for any tips or advice!

Hey Guys, I love Lasagna, and its pretty much the only thing I can cook from scratch (including sauce excluding pasta sheets). I was wonder, just for a change to methods and ways, how do you guys cook it? I usually use 2-3 different cheeses (Chedder, Mozzarella, Red Leicester) between each different layer.

Ah right, sorry, must have just thought they won since they got to the final haha

Yeah, may as well carry on where I left off. Just remember they had a great pair of wings and a killer goaltender back when I followed them, then I stopped following NHL and a few years later they won the cup.

Time to get back into Hockey, now that I have Satellite. Only, I need a team to follow. I used to follow the Washington Capital about 12 years ago, but its been so long I'm not sure what the hells going on. Any suggestions?

OK, so if they ask me to try out for WR a bit more is there any good videos to watch out there, or books to read up on. Mainly play based or something similar. I copied something Edwards did against the Giants last week, which worked well during the try outs, where he'd fake a cut outside and run inside. Bit similar to Peter Beardsley dropped his left shoulder, to feign left, then darting out right.

He calls the field a pitch, too. Time to write an American Football guide for Dumb Brits guide!

Day off work, and sat through 3 matches, all pretty decent. Packers were immense. Matt Young has got to be happy with what he saw. Aaron Rodgers; is he everything you hoped for?

Hmm, I find it really bland and boring. No. LIke I said, it could just have been the ones I've had. The potato seems to over take anything within the taste mixture. I've had some nice ones, but that's because they were packed with lots of different flavours. But on the whole, most of them have been pretty boring.

Might have been the 3 red lights for not having cables connected correctly/fully?

Just realized I can see College Football over here in the UK with one of the Sports packages I have on Satellite! My predictions will be in soon.

Cottage Cheese seems to be real popular choice amongst TSM boarders! Really going to have to give it ago.

Hopefully related, English PM Gordon Brown has urged (pretty much demanded) that Fuel Depots, and Energy firms bring their prices down in line with the cost of Oil. Bold move.

Hmm, I find it really bland and boring. At least the Shepard's Pies I've had.

haha great advice thanks, if I ever score a TD I'll have to do the self Hi-5!
-
Man, never thought about Cottage Cheese before - seems pretty out there. Is that on the top layer?
-
Yeah, its not Pro Leagues, but the team I'm trying out for is in the best league available in BritBowl. But like most things in the UK, you pay a Sub Fee so the club can exist - don't mind it, used to it from years of playing football (soccer). They also provided the gear too, so that's canny.

Now you mention it, I think they should be subsidizing me, rather then the other way around £2 a training session!
