Sure I read that she had retired, or had been advised to retire since it would break with every fall. Must have got a head of myself.

Madden, NFL Head Coach, and NCAA Football 2009

The Wii Madden 08 had this cool action replay 'Andy Gray' style drawing version on it. Where you could highlight players on replays with little squiggly lines. -
That's an interesting theory - I like it. Subtle swerve.

Trying out for the team, just never played the game before so was looking for some advice on how to prepare. I've watched it for about 15 years now, so I know the rules and that, just not the ins and outs of playing what position outside of the basic armchair fan. Cheers, I was wondering about this. I'd say my fitness was below average at the moment. I used to play a large amount of Football (soccer) but stopped, so I'm a bit behind in terms of stamina and conditioning. Good call on the WR routes too, that would be a bit daunting to have to learn all the different plays, calls and routes to run AND get the timing down.

This is such a strange situation as no one really wants to 'go there'. Georgia is screaming out for help, its getting LOADS of news coverage but no one really gives a damn in terms of support. Is it because its Russia? There's no oil at stake? Georgia were in the wrong anyway? EDIT: Wow seems to have advanced even more. BBC say Russia are closing in on the Georgian Capital, with the Georgian Army retreating for 'one last stand'.

What an idiot lol Thing is... I've enjoyed the 'break' from Orton on the TV. Same with HHH being gone from RAW. Has anyone really missed him? Isn't the reoccurring collerbone injury what caused Candice to retire?

Thanks for all the replies, really helps. Think I'd prefer a defense role - guess I'll see what happens come the November try outs. In terms of preparation and training, what do you guys do? Weights? Running? And is there anything out there to watch/read to learn the game, or am I better off just watching as many games as I can (as I do already)?

I've got a OT and a DT in development (lvl4 and lvl6), they're both on the same team under a 2 year deal. Once that's up, I'll look to bring them into the fold - if we're still going - if you want some 3rd stringers?

That's an awesome reply, thanks V-X! I'd say my catching is ok at best, I used to play in goal (5-a-side soccer), so my reflexes are certainly up there. The league is an Amature league, but full 11 v 11. The Senators are pretty good team, make play offs every year (apart from last year and this) and have had some good players along the way from what I've read about them (some CFL players). I've sent some emails to their coach, who said they have rookie try outs in November and Janurary (just before the season starts), so I sould go down to those. So that gives me a few months to prepare one way or another. WR would be a cool place, I've got a leap on me - couldn't say how much of a leap, maybe a foot and a half or so feet from ground, not sure what that would be with arm stretched out. My acceleration is probably average, its hard to tell without other people to bench mark myself aganist. At College I used to run 100m at around the 12.5-13 second mark. Not sure how that would relate to the 40. QB is out of the question though, I don't trust my accuracy or range. I get pot lucky when throwing stuff, sometimes it'll go where I want, other times it'll go somewhere totally random - sometimes good, sometimes bad.

Well done to the USA 4x100 relay team, that swim was truely fucking epic!
-
Cool... Edwards (Browns) cut his foot, so he'll probably get a Staph infection like everyone else does at the Browns and miss the season too! That's Joe and Edwards potentially out for the first game of the season. GO LEWIS! Browns finally cut Baxter too, after 3 years of TCL problems in BOTH knees. Feel sorry for the guy, hope he can recover and get some form of his former self back.

They're not totally jacked from what I've seen, most of them are around the same size as me, a little bigger, but no way near the standard of American College Football, let alone NFL.
-
Same with my WR, I say we go on a witch hunt and attack Annie!
-
We got destroyed again. My bloke won't get you any yardage once he has the ball in his hands. He's a catch and cover up guy.

There's something wrong about watching Basketball with an English guy talking about it - its as foreign has listening to American commentators talk about English Soccer. However, China v USA was an interesting match, just for the George Bush grin of glee every time they scored.
-
That bitch is going for the World Record - SWIM, BITCH, SWIM! Well done USA, broke the WR for the swimming relay with your B TEAM!
-
They moved servers, and tried to update some coding, and took longer then they thought - still its been a little lacking lately in content. Brainbug was awesome for his WCW rips.
-
Man, all they show on the BBC is the Rowing - probably as its the only thing we'll get a gold in
-
I wasn't on about their levels - I like their gimmick!
-
haha crap, didn't notice the date.
-
I can't fucking wait to play this team! http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=475

How good are you at keeping ratio? I might be able to give you an invite if I have any.
-
They're having trouble coding the new tracker.

Final Score say you had a huge crowd today too. Opening Day blues, that's all it'll be. You'll get your mid-table result just fine, as will The Toon this season. Anyway, I'm off to watch Newcastle v Valencia at St. James' Park, see you later!
-
Don't feel bad Fran, Rovers beat the Toon 3-0 in Pre Season! What's the connection? Lewis Guy used to be part of Newcastle reserves YEARS ago.
