you don't have to be a great wrestler to get over with the fans. and don't even tell me that being a good wrestler WILL get you over with fans, look at the likes of lance storm, the only people that liked him were internet smarks. he was boring as hell before people started caring enough to give him a gimmick.
EDIT: to back up my claim, people like samoa joe because he comes off as a badass who takes no shit. that's a gimmick, stuff like that gets over with the fans. if you just go out there and wrestle and just shake hands with no personality at all, people will not care.
