Brock Lesnar Files Suit Against WWE

The only case I see Brock have is if WWE refuses to allow him to work with them. Otherwise, he signed the contract, and if he wants to wrestle he does it with Vince.

Edge and Orton In the Midcard !

Edge losing to Triple H after interference from the guy who is taking the World Title at Mania is a little different than getting punked out by a career midcarder like Christian.

    Wild Pegasus vs. Lionheart

Angle made him tap at Rumble 2003.

    Dynasty?

Green Bay Packers: 1929-31 under Curly Lambeau. Chicago Bears: 1940, 1941, 1943 Those are the two big ones. The problem with the 1950s is that there are two teams at the same time that were extremely successfull. The Detroit Lions (Championships in 52, 53 & 57) and the Cleveland Browns (50, 54 & 55). Usually the Browns are considered to be a dynasty, but you don't hear nearly as much talk about the Lions from the same period. Generally speaking it is harder to win in football than baseball, due to the short seasons and one loss and out playoff games. Luck plays a much bigger factor in football. So usually 3 championships within a short period will get people talking about a dynasty. By far the most overlooked team is the Dolphins of the early 70s. Three straight Super Bowl appearances, two dominating wins, and the only undefeated season in history. But they never won the third and the Steelers era started immediately after.

    Moments you *did* see coming

I figured most of those out on my own. And things being spoiled isn't anything new. The fact that Mean Mark Callous was going to be Dibiase's mystery partner at Survivor Series 1990 was known well in advance. It was how they did it that was the surprise.

Non-Spoiler match listing for Raw, please?

This match resembles two geezers fighting over the last handicap spot at Wal-Mart.

    Moments you *did* see coming

Yeah, alot of WWF turns and big surprises such as... Jericho's debut Stephanie turning on Vince at Armageddon 99 Austin's turn at Invasion Kurt Angle's turn at Survivor Series 2001 Jericho winning the Undisputed Title Vince being the higher power Bischoff's WWF debut Ric Flair's WWF return

    Which era did you prefer?

1996-1998 WCW I did love WWF 2000, but 1998-99 weren't all that despite the popularity at the time. WCW had lousy main events, but the undercard trumped anything that WWF was doing at the same time.

    Dynasty?

It is stupid to compare teams directly against each other when discussing different eras. What you want to do is compare Team A with its contemporaries and likewise with Team B. Lombardi's Packers were absolutely dominant. Not including the pre-Super Bowl era is like saying that Yankees championships pre-free agency don't count either.

US gives $40m aid to Palestinians

I am hopeful, but not exactly optimistic. It is worth a shot though. It isn't that much money for the US, and the worst that can happen is that the status quo is maintained.

    Dynasty?

The Packers of the 60s would have done it had the Super Bowl come in a year earlier. They still stand as the only team to ever win three consecutive World Championships. These Pats have to get to 5 to match them. If they don't, then Green Bay will still be the greatest team in NFL history. In terms of franchises they have a real long way to go. New England has 3 titles, Green Bay has 12.

    Playstation2 woes...

For me it was about 2 1/2 years, but it varies with each system and how much you use it.

The best coach of all time

It wasn't five straight, but he won five in 9 years after inheriting the worst team in football. Green Bay had 1 win in 1958, the year before Lombardi got there, and he had them in the NFL Championship in 1960, in only his second year. They are also the only team in NFL history to win three straight World Championships (1965 NFL Championship, Super Bowl I & Super Bowl II).

    SuperBowl XXXIX Eagles vs. Pats

The Eagles were just overmatched by a far better team. It is to their credit that it was as close as it was.

    Playstation2 woes...

That's not quite the problem. The problem is that the laser decreases in intensity over time. It is supposed to read through any amount of dust, but eventually it can no longer do that. If you wait long enough it won't be able to read even through a clean lens. I believe they fixed this problem in later models, but it is what causes the Disc Read Errors in the first run PS2s. I agree on the crappy ventilation systems though. The fan broke on my first PS2 and it would overheat and shut off after about 30 minutes of play.

    Is Austin equal to Hogan?

It isn't fair to compare big matches today with big matches back then, because far more of them happened back then. If you ask 1000 people whether they remember Austin/Foley and 1000 people whether they remember Strike Force/Demolition (or Warrior/Honky or Snake/Rude or various other midcard matches), you'll probably get a response in favour of the tag match simply because huge matches back then were so rare.

    Moments you never saw coming

I never saw Ultimate Warrior, in the midst of a massive hot streak, losing the IC title to Rick Rude in what was seemingly a pretty run of the mill feud up til that point (Rude clobbers Warrior after losing posedown, Warrior gets Rude in ring and crushes him). Shawn Michaels collapse on RAW was a big one. I never even knew that was a work until 1998, and it happened in 1995. In a bad way, the finish to Yoko/Taker at the Royal Rumble. I figured Yoko was going to win, because Taker was supposed to be taking time off, but I just sat there shaking my head at how stupid the whole thing was. Ted Dibiase's return to announcing at Royal Rumble 1994, and Hennig's return at Survivor Series 1995 were a couple I didn't see coming. Roddy Piper being the guest referee at Wrestlemania X. I called Perfect as being one, but I had no clue as to the other. But the biggest upset to me was Yoko beating Hogan at KOTR 1993. Hogan had just won the title at Mania and this was his first defense against a guy who had his credibility shot by losing in 5 seconds. I figured this was just a formality and Hogan would move on to either Bret Hart or Lex Luger (who was getting a pretty good heel push) in time for Summerslam. I never dreamed this would be his last match in the WWF until 2002. I didn't like Hogan, but he and the WWF were together as long as I could remember.

    Tagliabue says LA team likely

LA would have had the Texans if the city didn't fuck it up. They've had enough chances. If a team wants to move there, fine, but don't force it.

    Is Austin equal to Hogan?

Rock is better known in the mainstream than Austin is. Rock is certainly more successful in the mainstream than either Austin or Hogan. If you are going by money drawn as your basis, than the answer is clearly Austin. Basically within the industry, they rank: 1) Austin 2) Hogan 3) Rock In the mainstream, they rank: 1) Rock 2) Hogan 3) Austin After that it is a matter of what you deem more important. Personally, I have to say Hogan was the biggest wrestler off all time. Rock was a great draw for the WWF, but he was not quite at the level of Austin or Hogan. Austin barely made a blip in the mainstream, other than his catchphrases. Hogan was really the only one that did both. Austin's lack of mainstream success really hurts him, especially after the splits with Vince and legal trouble. Overall, I would have Hogan at #1 who made the 80s a huge success for the WWF and at least made it into the mainstream even if his film projects and albums weren't exactly successes. Rock comes next, and I really could see arguments for him as #1 based on his success outside the company, but as a wrestler he was on top for only a year or so. Austin is third. He was the biggest wrestling star in history, but unlike Rock or Hogan he never became more than just a successful wrestler.

    Playstation2 woes...

Try opening it up and cleaning the lens. This is the first time, so that should work. The system will eventually be unable to be saved, but the idea is to keep it alive long enough for the PS3. The order tends to go DVDs, Blue PS2 Games/PS1 Games, and finally regular PS2 Games. In my experience in the couple of times that I had to clean it, the DVDs start to go a good 6-8 months before the blue discs, and then another year or so to stop playing everything.

WWE to announce 2005 Hall of Fame inductees

I wouldn't be surprised to see Steve Austin be inducted. Unlike Hogan & Piper, he doesn't refuse to officially retire. He also isn't pissed at Vince like Hart or Sammartino.

I guess I was the only one...

Well, that is the flaw of that type of match. On the plus side, usually there is more action because a guy can take a breather while the other two guys work. I did like Angle just standing around watching JBL & Show go at it for the first part of the match though.
  23. Considering Edge was facing Shawn Michaels, any pinfall victory that didn't involve ten guys running in should be considered fairly clean.

    Smackdown's possible cancellation

Why? It was the stronger show from the first draft all the way up until Benoit jumped after last year's Rumble. Why would Vince have a problem with improving it? Also, it is viewed as the lesser show right now, but its ratings are on par or better than RAW's. Why would USA care about the quality as long as the ratings are coming in?
  25. Kahran Ramsus

    Smackdown's possible cancellation

It is just that all the talk about USA has been about RAW specifically. If they were interested in RAW, I don't see why they wouldn't be interested in Smackdown.
