The Frigid Failed Mascot Soul's 05 NFL Mock Draft

I think they might too, but I'm saying that's the wrong move. They haven't had a decent QB since Marino, and it hasn't gotten them squat. The defense was good enough to keep them in the playoff hunt for awhile, but they need to solve the QB problem yesterday.

The Frigid Failed Mascot Soul's 05 NFL Mock Draft

Good backs are going to be available elsewhere, Miami needs a QB in the draft. Anything else would be the wrong move.

    HBK vs Canadians

Back in the mid-90s I couldn't go to a show that Shawn was at without fans screaming 'faggot' and 'queer' at him every 10 seconds.

Mikey calls for student walkout on January 20th...

Had it been Mike or somebody saying something about Kerry if he had one the election, it would be the same situation.

Mikey calls for student walkout on January 20th...

I liked FS, hell I even mentioned him for mod once. But I can't support him in this. It would be irresponsible of me to do so.

Apparently hoping that the President of the US dies is illegal. Teke made the right decision.

Well, I guess teke is dealing with him.

Mikey calls for student walkout on January 20th...

I don't know the details of American law, but if another mod thinks this is out of line, then he's gone. If anybody can show me proof that it is illegal, then he's gone. It's only really illegal if he says anything about him plotting to kill the President like Unger did. Ok. Fine by me. That's why I was asking for proof. The disadvantage of being a foreigner on an American board.

He won a fair federal election. I wasn't happy that the Liberals got re-elected in June, but they did win, and I'm not about to protest a decision that was made by the people, no matter how much I end up bitching about it. You should. That would instantly mean a major crackdown on security and a shift to the extreme right that makes the current administration look like Karl Marx's family reunion. Kiss a lot of your freedoms goodbye if that ever happens. Freedom of speech probably being the first to go.

    HBK vs Canadians

Canadians put up with it, because we like being the underdog. Sort of like the New England Patriots. Don't ask me why, it just seems to be a part of our mentality. Also, Shawn isn't that popular in the northeast US either. Remember Wrestlemania? Does that mean he hates New Yorkers too? He happens to be one of, if not the most popular wrestler in Texas and the Southeast though. That's why Shawn sucks as champion at least as a face, he is too polarizing. Very few people have no opinion on him, they either love him or hate him, and the people who hate him won't pay to watch him.

So with the "DVD War" coming up...

Laserdiscs never made a dent, and DVD is a bigger jump from VHS than HD-DVD is from DVD. There has to be a market for something, and I'm not convinced that it is there for the new formats. It could be the next DVD, it also could be the next Betamax. When DVD Players were coming out my thoughts were 'Wow! I gotta get me one of those!'. With the new formats I'm like 'Eh...I'm pretty satisfied, I'll see about it when the price drops.' There just isn't the motivation there to run out and get one.

    Chris Jericho

Part of it is Jericho's fault, but not all of it. You are absolutely correct when you say he makes a lame babyface, just look at his first WCW face run. It was terrible. Fans cheer for him now because he's Chris Jericho, but he makes a terrible face. As a heel it could work. JBL is doing a decent job on Smackdown with the goofy heel act, so it can be done. Jericho is also less credible in the ring than his contempories, in particular Eddy Guerrero, Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko who had similar careers. Jericho was always weaker than those guys. Other wrestlers have often complained that Jericho's offense hurts more but looks like it doesn't. That's a problem for him. Even in his acclaimed WCW CW run, his matches were not anywhere near as good as what Benoit & Raven were doing against each other at the same time elsewhere in the card. But a lot of the reason does belong to the booking, and I'm not even talking about the Lucy angle. He could have survived that. He had three big matches in his WWF/E career that he absolutely needed to win to become a big star, and he lost them all. The first was against HHH at Fully Loaded 2000. Of the three this is the least damaging, but it still hurt. He jobbed to Benoit (who was getting a main event push) the next month, and got locked at the IC level for awhile. It wasn't too big of a problem at the time, because the roster was so stacked with Angle, HHH (still good at the time), Rock, Benoit and the returning Austin above him. But it hurt him for awhile. The second was also against HHH, this time at Judgment Day 2002. It spelled the end of his main event hopes. He was still a top level guy at this point. The next month he was jobbing to RVD, enough said. The third was Wrestlemania XIX. Unbelievably, he had managed to make himself seem like a threat again after his disasterous run at the top, but this would knock him down for good. In a match he absolutely needed, he lost to a man who's career was running on fumes and no longer had any value as a top star. A year later he is main eventing Wrestlemania while Jericho is jobbing to Christian. He has never recovered from that job, even today. Edge finds himself in the exact same position this year, so he better be praying, and if he's an atheist it is time to convert. Jericho as a face doesn't work, aside from his brief shot in 2000. Jericho as a heel was screwed over by the company. He has absolutely no respect as an in-ring performer from the fans. Benoit could job to Shawn a hundred times and he would still be respected because he has this aura about him. There is something legitimate about Benoit. Same thing with Kurt Angle. Jericho needed those wins, and he didn't get them.

So Benoit's jobbing to Jericho now...what's next, Steven Richards?

    I love EA.

Why would they care to sign the ESPN license? Does anybody really buy a game because it is sponsored by a sports network? The NFL, I understand, but would people buy ESPN NFL Football by EASPORTS over simply EASPORTS NFL Football?

2016 Olympics go to a City in Africa?

Even then, it's a reach, wouldn't you say? I just worry that something bad would happen down there. Yes. But in 10 years they might be able to do it. Certainly better than anyone else on the continent. Brazil & Argentina both could probably do it in South America. I don't know much about Peru, so maybe they could, but you can probably count out the rest. I laugh at the idea of Detroit-Windsor, but I believe that a joint London-Paris bid has been talked about at times, but it won't happen now that they are the favourites to win in 2012.

    Major News regarding Steve Austin

I would welcome him back as a special guest or as part of the HOF ceremonies, but I don't want to see him wrestle. He is like Arn Anderson in that his injury is so severe that I would take no joy in seeing him trying to wrestle, no matter how good he used to be.

    PS2 Questions

Well, I managed to fix it. The stupid tray wouldn't open. Thanks anyways. I'm glad it was less serious than with my first system. The fan broke on it then, and it would overheat and shut off after 20 minutes.

So with the "DVD War" coming up...

Me too. Regardless, I find it hard to get excited about this. The thing about DVDs is that it was such a huge leap over VHS that it was noticeable to any idiot on the street. I already get all the extras I want now, the quality is adequate in most cases and for old films usually there isn't a whole lot you can do because the original source material is in poor shape, and I don't mind switching disks. The only thing that concerns me are the prices. If they are still charging $50+ for seasons when it is on one or two disks, then fuck them.

Rebook King of the Ring 1995

That's why I only had him work two. It would have been one if Razor wasn't injured. I was going to have a bye anyways, with BBB/Tatanka ending in a no contest, so it didn't effect the PPV too much, although I would have done HBK/Razor which likely would have been the much better match. Yoko's really the backup plan, because Razor was on the shelf.

    Hellboy: The Director's Cut

I would say no. It is better than the original film, but not to the degree of something like Daredevil where the movie ends up being completely different.

Seth Green's Canadian or at least he seems like he could be a Canadian. Wrong. He's actually from Philly.

    AFC Divisional: Pats and Colts

I thought the Colts would have had momentum following their drive at the end of the first half, but then the Pats just controlled the ball for practically the entire second half. The Pats offense won this game, not their defense. Certainly, not what I expected, although I did think that the Pats were going to win. The weather wasn't a factor either. Playing like that the Pats would have won in the RCA Dome too.
