ECW is dead. I can wish we were back in 1987 again too. It doesn't mean I want to see Savage & Steamboat fighting at Wrestlemania XXI. It is best to just move on.

I doubt that since he was already banned from getting another title shot and the Rumble would have played out the same. Just afterwards he would have stayed instead of jumped.

Hogan/Andre was an awful match, but the wrestlers are more important than the match. The Raiders/Titans game on Sunday was a good game, but who cares? There was nothing at stake and both teams suck. A potential Steelers/Eagles Super Bowl may end in a blow out, but it is a bigger game for a reason. Hogan/Andre was the two biggest WWF stars of their era taking place at the top of the card of the biggest WWF show in history. That's what makes it great. And that is what is important to the WWF and to the fans. Nobody around here complains that it was the worst Wrestlemania Main Event ever, even though on a technical level it was. I call Hogan/Rock from Wrestlemania X-8 a bad match, not because it literally was, but because by that point Hogan had nothing left and I didn't want to see him anymore. To others it was a dream match. I love Wrestlemania IV, and there is only one good match on the entire card.

The problem with the whole Benoit/Lesnar thing, is that although you argue it at the time, in retrospect, Lesnar leaving would have killed all drama at Wrestlemania. It was not the best decision at the time, but fate stepped in and made it turn out for the better. I think had he stayed on Smackdown he probably would have been jobbing the belt to JBL at Great American Bash and we wouldn't even had had the Wrestlemania moment.

I was half-joking when I said Minny would beat Philadelphia. I think they could, but I am not making the mistake of underestimating the Eagles without TO. They are still a very good team. They have to avoid playing Carolina though. Carolina I think would beat them at this point in time. I actually feel much the same way as I did when they had TO. I think the Super Bowl this year will be New England over Atlanta. New England was snoozing on Monday, so were the Steelers on Sunday. The Dolphins just happen to be playing better football right now than the Giants, so they won and the Giants blew it. It happens to dominant teams sometimes at this point in the year. It does give Pittsburgh homefield, but that only gives them a fighting chance. They had little to no chance at Foxboro, and I still consider the Patriots the favourites now. The Colts will have to go on the road outdoors in either Foxboro or Pittsburgh, that's if they can get by a surging Bills team or a tough Jets team that destroyed them two years ago. Those are three brutal games the Colts have to win just to get to the Super Bowl. I don't see them doing it Atlanta. Philadelphia clinched too soon in the NFC. They are this years version of the 1995 Chiefs, 1996 Broncos or 1998 Vikings. I can't see them getting up to play Carolina or Atlanta after a series of meaningless games. Happens all the time. There is usually one big upset in the playoffs (last year was Panthers @ Rams) and they seem a likely candidate for it if they get a bad draw. And they would get Carolina in the Divisional Playoffs if the Panthers manage to make it that far. Eagles fans should be praying that a crummy team like the Rams or Saints sneak into the playoffs. They would likely get Green Bay or Minnesota then, which aren't a walk in the park either, but I'd take them over the Panthers right now. Atlanta has the easiest road, which is why I think they will pull through. Plus, they proved they could beat the Panthers, even if it was by the skin of their teeth.

They won't have to. Without TO, the Eagles are getting beat by Minnesota in the divisional championships. Of course, this still means Green Bay has to get by Atlanta. But if they do, we know they can beat Minnesota, they've already done it.

Didn't they get to the Super Bowl one year with Home Field? Yeah, one SB appearance in four tries. They lost to San Diego in '94, Denver in '97 and the Pats in '01. All AFC title games and all at home. They came close against the Chargers and the other two games can be blamed on Kordell.

He said it last year, not in reference to now. The original plan to main event Wrestlemania XX was Orton/HHH. HHH didn't think he was ready for it and pushed for Benoit to jump over to RAW and get the title instead. At least that's what Meltzer said.

Had they stayed with Orton as champion until now, and then decided to break it up, I think it may have worked the way they wanted (with Orton as the face). But he still couldn't just go out and job in his first match with HHH after running all the time and getting his ass handed to him in the buildup.

It was obvious at the time. And of course the fans knew it too, which is why he started getting booed heavily towards the end. EDIT: I assume we are talking about the Mania match. I can't watch this show until 12.

I would be shocked if HHH/HBK HIAC wouldn't be on a best of 2004 match list made by WWE.

The Evolution breakup should have been the biggest thing to happen in WWE since the split, but they screwed it up first by rushing the angle, and then by screwing up the breakup itself. In one month they went from Orton starting to put his own interests above HHH's, Orton winning the World Title, Orton getting kicked out, and Orton losing the World Title thus blowing the whole thing off for the audience. Of course, that wasn't intended to be the blowoff, but it sure was as far as interest in the angle goes. They could have ridden that one month all the way to Wrestlemania, but they had little patience and rushed it, making Orton look like a fluke by jobbing the belt a month after winning it. Orton's heat hasn't recovered, and probably won't without a heel turn. That was a problem in it iself, as the big breakup simply meant Orton getting kicked out of the group. Batista's choice in staying with HHH didn't make sense at all, given that he always fit in better with Orton than he did Flair, and they made the mistake of starting Orton's main event run by making him look bad. What should have happened is that HHH would be growing restless enough to Orton & Batista got sick of him and Flair and booted them from the group. Yes, we would have had face HHH again, but the angle would have made a lot more sense, and Orton & Batista would have looked a hell of lot better. Kane/Lita and all that junk, were just bad angles. There was no way they could have worked. But the Evolution breakup angle was supposed to carry RAW for at least the next 6-8 months and they totally botched it to the point that it may have seriously hurt Orton's career.

And I suppose Lawrence of Arabia is just riding around in the desert for four hours...

He's a terrible actor that can actually pick good roles a lot of the time, which puts him above the real dregs like Paul Walker. He gets saved by his castmates in films like Speed or the Matrix. As long as he's doing action or comedy, he's passable, but keep him away from dramatic roles.

Yeah, Carolina's definitely peaking at the right time. I honestly would not be surprised to see them go into Philly again and win. I would have said Tampa was a threat too before they went and got beat by the Saints. Now they won't even make the playoffs.

I don't mind that he wanted to dump the Chargers. I just don't like him wanting to go to the Giants. I don't consider him whiny, but I do consider him stupid.
