1998 was pretty good. Metal Gear Solid & Legend of Zelda: OoT were arguably the two biggest releases of that generation. WCW/NWO Revenge also came out that year, which was a huge step up from World Tour.

Winter > Summer. Well, aside from the first 2-3 weeks in January when we are in the Deep Freeze. The rest of the time its great.

Kreski would never come back, even if they wanted him. But they need somebody like him that plans things out way in advance and knows simple stuff like who hates who and so on.

We are on their side with Sudan too. Martin bitched at the UN (rightfully so) for doing nothing.

I remembered hearing at the time that he had gotten into a semi-serious car accident and injured his back sometime in late 1997 (he actually came back for one or two RAWs around this time). I don't know whether there is any truth to this. The Rougeaus were out of the company after Royal Rumble and Garvin soon followed. Garvin never was much of a success, but the Rougeaus were being phased out in favour of Rythm & Blues. Jacques would return at the end of year in the first Mountie skits.

The big problem besides those already mentioned was that the Wrestlemania VI match split the fanbase, and the Hogan fans didn't take to Warrior all that well. Also, the big storyline in the summer of 1990 was Hogan/Earthquake while Warrior was put in against guys like Haku & Dino Bravo for the early part of his reign, before moving on to Rick Rude who he disposed of convincingly already the year before. Warrior was treated like an afterthought during his reign. The exact same thing happened to Goldberg 8 years later. Another thing that might have factored in to his failure was that Warrior was rapidly going insane in real life at this point and it eventually started affecting his character. It was definitely noticeable by the Savage feud.

It made Mayhem. AKI made World Tour, which came out long before Mayhem. It was the predecessor to Revenge (still my favourite wrestling game ever, it has a better lineup to choose from than Wrestlemania 2000 or No Mercy).

Canada has now followed the American lead and refuse to recognize the election results.

I am thankful for Al Harris and Matt Hasselbeck's stupid boasts in OT of playoff games. I am thankful that I won't have to listen to Ron Artest for the rest of the season.

Can you name 1 bad Triple H match from 2000? (looks at watch) HHH/Austin from Survivor Series 2000 was awful.

David Wells is no longer solid and dependable. I'd seriously rather have Milton than him. It sounds like you just want the big names, whether they are good anymore or not, which is exactly what has gotten your team in the trouble it is in right now. Signing Wells is something your crosstown rivals would do.

I think you probably are thinking of Fox iggy. He's the one that raised cancer awareness and is one of our biggest national heroes.
-
CBC loves him though, so he'll probably win. But I agree that he doesn't deserve it.

Hell, I avoided public schools all my life to prevent situations like these, and I only know like six of them. Of course, the private schools I went to thought Canada was Satan. Which six? If I went with a war hero to be the greatest Canadian, I would pick Billy Bishop. Winner of the Victoria Cross, and the Empire's greatest pilot in WW1.

What I find odd is that RVD's two best matches ever (vs. Jericho at Unforgiven 2001 and vs. Eddy at Judgment Day 2002) aren't on this.

Who has been more sucsessful in WWE?
Kahran Ramsus replied to Frankie Williams's topic in The WWE Folder
He main evented that one though, so I counted it in with the seven. EDIT: I guess Survivor Series would make 8. I forgot about that one. -
NFC 1. Philadelphia 2. Atlanta 3. Green Bay 4. St Louis (via H2H tiebreaker over Seattle) 5. Minnesota 6. Seattle AFC 1. New England 2. Pittsburgh 3. Denver 4. Indianapolis 5. Baltimore 6. San Diego

Eddy has main evented two PPVs in the WWF. Armageddon will be his third. In addition, he defended the WWE Title at another (GAB) for a total of three main event calibre matches in his WWE career. Benoit has main evented seven PPVs, challenged for the WWE Title at one (Royal Rumble 2003) and defended the World Title at another (Badd Blood 2004) for a total of nine. So Benoit has main evented (or equivalent) at a rate 3x that of Guerrero. -
The old people ended up finishing second.

Trudeau was terrible. Many of the problems we have today were a result of his run. Our best PM (Sir Robert Borden) isn't even on the list. Terry Fox is the easy choice here.

ECW is dead. Even if Vince brought it back, it wouldn't be ECW.

WRESTLER OF THE YEAR Chris Benoit He won the Royal Rumble while setting the longevity record, then made Trip tap clean at Wrestlemania to kick start the best title run in the history of the RAW World Title. It is no coincidence that his title win at Mania marks the first time since the brandsplit that RAW surpassed Smackdown in quality. Of the top five WWE matches of the year, he's in four of them. An easy choice. TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR Le Resistance Almost by default. They had a lengthy reign as champs, and were really the only stable team in the promotion all year long, not counting the jobbed out Dudleys. NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR Luther Reigns Made an impact on Smackdown first as Kurt's bodyguard and then in an Eddy feud. He's not great, but he has fulfilled his role well and he's still better than most of the new guys. He's been the most consistant. MOST IMPROVED WRESTLER John Bradshaw Layfield Benjamin was good last year, this year he just got pushed. Christian hasn't done much different than we have seen in the past. Orton & Batista have improved, but not as much as this guy, who went from a waste of a contract with no talent in a deadend 4 year old gimmick to the longest reigning World Champion of the year, and a much improved character. He even improved in the ring, although people will not confuse him with Paul London anytime soon. He's now one of the few reasons I even watch Smackdown. FINISHER OF THE YEAR Chris Benoit's Crippler Crossface The move that made HHH tap clean at Wrestlemania. ANGLE OF THE YEAR Chris Benoit’s journey to the World Title Easy one here. Best Wrestlemania Main Event angle since Austin challenged Shawn at XIV. FEUD OF THE YEAR Eddy Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle Tough one since aside from Chris Benoit, the actual HBK/HHH/Benoit feud wasn't handled that great. Not many classic feuds this year. Eddy & Kurt feuded off and on all year, producing three good-to-great matches and a nice storyline heading into the Wrestlemania match. MATCH OF THE YEAR Triple H vs Chris Benoit vs Shawn Michaels (Wrestlemania XX) I am sensing a theme with this. My biggest markout moment in a long time, and booked absolutely perfectly as a match. TV MATCH OF THE YEAR Chris Benoit vs HHH (Iron Man Match) Benoit is on here again. This is the match they should have done at Vengeance. PAY-PER-VIEW OF THE YEAR Wrestlemania XX The only real brainfarts were Lesnar/Goldberg and the Diva match. That is a pretty good ratio for this company.

So can we tell who the future of the WWE is yet?
Kahran Ramsus replied to The Mandarin's topic in The WWE Folder
Why was WGTT broken up? To give Shelton a singles push. And make no mistake, Benjamin is clearly the better of the two, but Haas has really been given the shaft. Perhaps he needs a new partner. -
If you were in charge of rebuilding WWE...........
Kahran Ramsus replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
I'm okay with screwjob endings, but primarily in the undercard. They do occur too much, but they are a good way to continue feuds at times. The big matches on PPV definitely should be clean or at least a creative screwjob (like the ending to Wrestlemania X-7). -
Godfather Part I, if only for James Caan & Marlon Brando.
