I think the bigger problem was not Austin going heel (his heat had been going downhill for months), but HHH staying heel. If Rock wasn't going to be around, then HHH was the next logical choice, face HHH vs. heel Austin could have drawn huge, but I get the feeling they wanted to save that for Wrestlemania XVIII instead, and you saw the consequences. The timing of the heel turn was off too. They should have started it at the Royal Rumble or immediately after.

Pillman was the bigger star early on, but by the end, Austin was clearly being positioned to be the next big thing in WCW. The Rockers were similar. In the beginning, Marty carried the team, but Shawn caught up and passed him sometime in 89-90. Overall, Austin was the better of the two. Both wrestling-wise and charisma-wise. Even if Pillman never had his injuries and unfortunate death, he would never have even come close to what Austin was.

This might be a once in a lifetime oppurtunity for you, I would take the chance when I've got it. Who knows when they will next be in the Caribbean.

That's true. Comedy in general has taken a beating recently.

If I want to see people sit around a fucking house, I wouldn't have to watch TV. I want to see people doing things that you don't normally do, like racing around the world or being stranded on an island somewhere. I watch reality TV to escape from reality and to see people competing at the same time. I will watch good scripted stuff (like 24 as well), but most television writers especially with regards to sitcoms are awful with actors to match. Maybe the film industry has become so big that it has snagged anyone with talent. I don't know.

Its because of the competitive nature of them. Much the same reason why people watch sports. The other reason is because people like TV and most of the 'comedies' are even more pathetic. Really, network television is so awful 90% of the time they are lucky to get the ratings they get.

I'm not certain that the Egyptians did, but the Aztecs with Quetzalcoatl, definitely. The Egyptians of that time were lighter-skinned than today's Arabs, correct? I assumed they were more Meditterranean, and certainly not African. I'm not sure though, I'll have to look it up. The Egyptians were more of a reddish colour. Both the Mesopotamians and the black Africans appear much different to the Egyptians themselves in Egyptian art. I do not have much of a background in Egyptian mythology (I know even less about Aztec mythology, but I know the Quetzacoatl story), but most of their gods took the form of animals. The Egyptian creation god, Atum who rose out of the Nile and gave birth to Egypt, took the form of a snake. Osiris, who brought the Egyptians their culture, does take the form of a man in the standard pharoah outfit.

Big Show may look less impressive, but he's also more charismatic and is a smarter in-ring wrestler than pretty much all of the new guys combined.
