Forbes Magazine Says NHL Owners Overstated Losses
Kahran Ramsus replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in Sports
Competitive balance isn't really an issue in the NHL due to the number of teams that make the playoffs, and there anything can happen. It certainly isn't an issue like it is in baseball where you know the Jays, Os & D Rays never have a chance being stuck in the same division as the Red Sox & Yanks. I know Keip will never agree, but if he is that adamant against the cap, the other alternative is to drop to 154 games and add another round of the playoffs in MLB. That would help too and not affect players salaries. -
1. Carlos Beltran - Cubs 2. Adrian Beltre - Dodgers 3. Brad Radke - Red Sox 4. Edgar Renteria - Cubs 5. Pedro Martinez - Angels 6. Carlos Delgado - Mets 7. Magglio Ordonez - Orioles 8. Kevin Brown - Not Traded 4. Charles Johnson - Athletics 5. Jose Guillen - Not Traded Finally, does Roger Clemens retire? No. He stays with Houston.

So...Kerry actually won some counties in Mississippi and Alabama? Wow, I didn't see that coming.

I still think Pedro would be a flop in New York.

I know DeNiro had to direct Brando's scenes in The Score with Oz giving DeNiro directions from off-set. Everything I've heard about Liu has been quite positive, so I have no doubt Murray was the big problem.

Hey, there's always the Apprentice. I hear that blowhard Chris gets fired this week. -
I really think they should make Remembrance Day into a federal holiday.

I nope not. He is one of the only reasons I even watch the show these days. But it doesn't stop me from knowing that the money-match for Wrestlemania is Angle/Cena, which they don't seem to plan on doing anyways.

In Spy Who Loved Me Bond's wife is mentioned. And, of course, Licence to Kill. There is also From Russia With Love, where Dr. No is mentioned.

Despite our opinions on Iraq, Canada very much wants America to police the world. That was the reasoning for the depletion of our military under Trudeau. The thinking was that the USA would never tolerate a hostile power sharing the longest border in the world with them, and that we would be protected while not having to actually do anything. Our complaints end with Iraq. We are one of the few nations backing the US effort to end the genocide in Sudan, for example, and we are still in Afghanistan.

Why are the tag champs jobbing on Velocity? I can understand Dupree losing to Booker, since he's the No. 1 Contender and all, but Kenzo losing to Holly?

It is obviously between Bettman & Selig. I voted Selig because at least Bettman is man enough to go through with what he thinks is best for the sport. Selig is just a spineless slug.

I don't know why there should be a black James bond in the first place, really. Is there a candidate who really warrants the role that much as to fundamentally change the character? Casting Colin Salmon would be a fundamental change? He at least is English, unlike Brosnan. He has played Bond for the screentests of the last 3 films as well, so its not like he is unfamiliar with the part.

Report: Clarett received gifts at Ohio State

I would never draft this guy. -
The last thing that the Democrats need is to go further to the left. Expect another 20 years of Republican control.

Both the Packers & Seahawks match up well against the Eagles. If Philly can avoid playing them, they would be much more likely to make the Super Bowl where they would get destroyed by the AFC representative (Pats, Jets, Steelers, Broncos & Colts should all beat Philly). Philly might have trouble with the Vikings or Falcons too, but I really think they can beat Atlanta. Giants are in trouble without Strahan, and the Eagles would destroy the Rams.

Sean Waltman. I hated him since his Lightning Kid days. He never could give a promo or anything. Test is a close second.
-
Toronto appears to be showing some interest in Jon Lieber.
-
I never thought that they should have drafted him over Roethlisberger.

Oh yeah, on Wannstadt...the Dolphins haven't had the offensive talent to compete since Marino retired. People just happen to be noticing it this year because they are so pathetic that they can't hide behind their defense for 9 wins or so.

I'm just watching the replay because of MNF, so I don't know if somebody brought this up, but WWE is very foolish for doing Orton/Batista on free TV and then doubly so by having a crappy fluke finish that helps nobody.

1) Brees is 25. 2) Nall hasn't shown me anything, he couldn't even get the #2 job from Petersen aside from injury. 3) The Packers will never be bad enough to get a high enough draft pick to get a great QB, at least as long as Favre's there, and once he's gone its too late.
-
It will burn them in the playoffs. They won't be prepared for the level of competition. Just ask the Chiefs, it has happened to them 3 times in 10 years.
-
I still hoping that the Packers can make a go for Brees in the off-season.

Looks can be deceiving. The Colts are clearly the class of the AFC South, where there is a real race going on in the NFC North. Jacksonville is due for a fall without Leftwich. I like Houston, but I don't see them making a serious run at Indy.
