It was the second show I ever attended back in 1989 (the first show had a great 20 minute match between Bret Hart & Curt Hennig). As a kid I enjoyed it, but I would despise this card today. Some No-Name Jobber beat Paul Roma clean. Honestly, this was pretty funny since Roma sucks. Bret Hart d. Bad News Brown in the best match on the card. The Bushwhackers d. The Bolsheviks Akeem The African Dream beat Hercules Jimmy Snuka beat Honky Tonk Man Rick Martel d. Brutus Beefcake via holding the ropes on an attempted Sunset Flip by Beefcake. Boy Scoutz N The Hood Laughs pretty much from start to finish, plus a catchy musical number. "Don't thank me, thank...THE KNIFE!"

I'm sure none of us mean any disrespect in just stating facts.

It is the same problem with Toronto and Eric Hinske, taken to an extreme level because the Yanks have this problem with much of the team. You can't trade them, because they are being paid far more than what they are worth. Unless you eat the contract, and what is the point in paying a guy to play somewhere else? Aside from free agents they are pretty much stuck. It is the ultimate flaw with the way the Yanks build their team. If something goes wrong, there is NO backup plan.

I have that, so I don't really care.

The Packers are destroying Dallas right now. 41-13 after a big TD Run by Green.

Mike Martz should be embarrassed.

We dropped at a couple of hundred. $50 seems real low.

Well Benoit & Nancy Sullivan have been together for what seems forever and, judging from the Benoit DVD, are still going strong. So there are some notable exceptions. Haitch probably does whatever necessary to appease his wife, as his power position depends on it. Benoit had a previous wife before Woman. I know he had at least 1 kid and maybe even 2 with her. He had two kids before Nancy, but I don't know if they were both from his ex-wife. One certainly was.

And you can do that without gutting the team Wasn't it you that first brought up the idea of gutting the team anyways? That Lieber, Sturtze, Bernie & Mussina were the only guys worth keeping? I know I never mentioned anything about gutting the team. I just said that they would be hard-pressed to do much without prospects that they can trade. -
We actually took both $50s and $100s. It was hell for change, but we did it.

I think both of you guys are off the track a bit on this one. Both the girl and the cop are partially at fault, but I think the real blame lies with the rioters. No riot, no shooting. Simple as that. Since by all accounts she wasn't participating in that, I won't lump her in that group. But they are all responsible for this.

The Countdown to Beltran with Yankees Topic

It depends on who you buy. If the Red Sox don't go out and get Schilling last year, then they are sitting home watching the Yanks tonight. The Yanks got guys like Kevin Brown, and now they have a bunch of overpaid slugs who can't get the job done, nothing on the bench, big holes in their pitching staff, and no trade-bait. They have to do everything through free agency, because they've got nothing they can trade. Beltran is an improvement, but there is nothing on the pitching front (Pedro is crap in Yankee Stadium) and that is their weakest point. They are going to have the exact same problems next year. Beltran is an upgrade, but he's not what they really need. Just like A-Rod this past year. -

He would need all three of Pennyslvania, Ohio & Florida then. -
Happened to me more than once during summers, except I wouldn't let them escape in the first place.

That's not what I meant. I mean matches where a match has to last a certain amount of time, like an Iron Man Match or a Royal Rumble or even War Games. Matches on free TV should always have the stigma that they could end at any time so don't change the channel.
-
Cena also hung out with Bull Buchanan during the Smackdown Six era when Heyman had pretty much everyone on the roster, aside from Brock Lesnar and Undertaker, form a semi-regular tag team.
-
One other thing. Never put matches with set time limits on free TV, like Iron Man Matches. All that does is tell the audience how long a match will last, and they will tune out and come back for the last couple of minutes. It just isn't a good idea. Save them for PPV.

Bring in some rule changes to differentiate between the brands, as well as brand-specific matches. For example, RAW Cage Matches will feature the Over the Top/Out the Door format while Smackdown Cage Matches feature Pinfall/Submission finishes. RAW gets Elimination Chamber, Smackdown gets War Games. That sort of thing. I also think they need to fix up their PPVs a bit. 1) The same show gets the same PPV every year (plus splits). 2) Build in more PPV-Specific Matches/Formats. For example, Armaggeddon can feature an Elimination Chamber every year (or the old 6 Man HIAC). Fans like unique formats if you can get them over successfully. The Royal Rumble is the ultimate example. The idea is to try and make PPVs more prestigious. People go out of their way to order Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania every year because of what they are as much as what the card is. I would also make four shows in which the brands can interact with each other. Wrestlemania & Royal Rumble should stay as they are. The others would be changing GAB back to KOTR. Make it an 8 Man Tournament with the first two rounds making up the Semi-Finals & Finals of each brand, then have each brand's champion square off in the Finals. The other will be Survivor Series where the main event would always be a 5vs5 Raw vs. Smackdown Survivor Series match with the top stars of both brands. Wrestlemania is the only time they would ever face each other one-on-one aside from the KOTR Finals. The big point of all of this is to differentiate between the brands alot more than they already do, and to ideally create two distinct audiences that will both order the big shows. PPV is the area with the most room for growth and the area with the biggest payoff financially.
