Star Wars Episode III teaser description w/ poster

Come to think of it, Jude Law would make an excellent Anakin Skywalker. I don't have any real concern with AOTC. In many ways it is a better film than ROTJ. The acting is bad in all of the films, but the prequels lack that one standout actor that has enough charisma to suck in the audience whereas the originals had Harrison Ford. These films miss his presence a lot (not that I want Ford back, but it is missing something). Dooku is a decent enough villain. TPM is more flawed. Largely because they insist on focusing on lame duck characters like Qui-Gon Jinn, Jar-Jar and Amidala rather than the ones that people paid to see, namely Anakin, Obi-Wan and to a lesser extent Yoda. Anakin is portrayed as more whiny and lucky than talented and the other two are shoved off into a side role and are missing for large chunks of the film.

    Apprentice 2

It has been like that since the beginning of the show. It happens with Probst on Survivor too.

How much do you pay at the theater?

Cineplex Odion $7 at all times (no Matinee prices)

Another problem is their whole attitude towards PPV. I am a firm believer in the Big Match theory. That being, you get 3 or 4 big feuds going and start from there. Aside from those matches (generally the title matches but not always), you book it as you would a house show, just guys fighting each other because they are scheduled to face each other for ranking purposes. There is no need to create a reason at the last minute for Dupree & RVD to be fighting each other. Nobody will order the show for that match anyways. You're just burning out potential future feuds by doing that and wasting time on something that doesn't need to be done. It also allows for fresher matchups, by not locking in two wrestlers against each other for months on end (like Jericho/Christian or Booker/Cena) long after their feuds should have logically been over with. These matches would be announced prior to the PPV too. Not tossing something together at the last minute. Everything should be planned in advance, unless a major injury or something prevents that from happening.

The ALCS: New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox

Mussina has admitted it, and Tom isn't arguing that point at all. He just says that Cito should have put him in anyways. I say that Mussina shouldn't have been warming up in the first place.

The ALCS: New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox

Gaston brings in Duane Ward to close the game for the AL, but Mussina on his own accord starts warming up in the bullpen. This gets the crowd and the American media in general to completely turn on Gaston, since the game was in Baltimore. It was a completely selfish move on behalf of Mussina. Nothing would have happened if Mussina just sat his ass on the bench like he was told to.

    Phillies may lose AAA team

I'm in a similar boat as you. The Ottawa Lynx are always threatening to move, but at least next season is guaranteed.

The ALCS: New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox

Toronto is more like Eddy Guerrero than Boston. Once one of top in the world they were destroyed by drugs/Gord Ash and by being held down by those above. They exorcised those demons and finally looked like they were ready to break through as of March 2004, but by June they had recieved a nice swift kick to the gonnads. Boston is more like Chris Benoit. Beloved, but constantly held down until finally breaking through this year. Chris Benoit's WCW Title reign represents all the times Boston could taste victory but ended up losing.

I view Taker as HBK with less talent. Most of what I said about Shawn applies to him too. Except Taker went back to a dead-end gimmick in an attempt to hit the big time once again, when he had been slowly improving as a wrestler for a couple of years prior. Maybe he's the Cubs?

Who would the Yanks be then? Shawn Michaels? The aging oft-injured hasbeen that doesn't know when to quit and only hangs on due to the boss.

The other thing is that they need to develop more rules for the wrestling product in storyline turns. Run-ins, lowblows, holding-the-ropes, etc. should be frowned upon by the company and the announcers. If somebody beats up a ref, they should get suspended for a couple of weeks (this means no house shows as well). Hell, this is a good way to give a short vacation to the already overworked roster. During a suspension you can still do short interviews via phone or satellite to keep the wrestler on TV, just don't allow him at the arena. Have announcers announce the week after a heel beatdown that so and so has been fined a certain amount of money. Do things to try and treat it more like a real sport. Heel beatdowns don't mean as much as they used to, because they are no longer treated as horrific acts. When Vader clobbered Monsoon in 1996, it was a big deal. These days it is almost expected. That needs to change. People no longer care as much about the product, because these things don't seem as important as they used to. Steve Austin was popular because he went against the status-quo. Now that the Steve Austin persona is the status-quo, the character type is no longer nearly as over as it once was.

    Miami Dolphins Remaining Schedule

Arizona is better than Miami. That is a possible win though.

With those bums? I suggest trading A-Rod straight up for Eric Hinske.

    Miami Dolphins Remaining Schedule

1-15. They will beat the Niners, who are even worse than the Dolphins are despite the win over the Cards. The Dolphins are talented enough on defense to do better than that, but mentally they seem to have given up. Fire Wannstadt and they might get as many as 3 or 4 wins, but 1-15 if he stays til the end of the year.

Mussina's an ass, so I could care less. I still haven't forgiven him for the '93 All-Star Game.

Which brought you more glee in 2004?

Toss-up. The Lakers are more annoying than the Yankees, but Yankees fans are worse than Lakers fans.

How old is Torre anyways? There was an awful lot of talk about his retirement last year.

The ALCS: New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox

Oh yeah, I can see it now. A-Rod gets the game winner in the bottom of the 12th. Never count the Yanks out, ever. I hope the Sox know better by now.
