Well, I lost the game, but on the plus side Tom Brady (my FF starting QB) kicked ass.

Indy would have a nice lead by now if Clark didn't drop a catch in the endzone.

    Make a statement

Rebuttal: I meant in that he was given the porn star gimmick and that the porn star label would always be attached to him for the rest of his career even after he changes gimmicks (ala Red Rooster). I don't mean that he should have been pushed as the porn star. I mean that he could have survived it.

STATEMENT: The porn star gimmick is not responsible for destroying Val Venis's career. He was doing just fine in 2000 before being dumped in RTC for no reason.

PATRIOTS-COLTS This reminds me of the Eagles/Bucs game last year which I got wrong, but my philosophy remains the same. The Colts got beat by the Pats in the Championship game a year ago and will be motivated for their chance for revenge. They are NOT the better team, but they will play harder for tonight. PREDICTION: Colts 31, Pats 28 TITANS-DOLPHINS Miami is usually tough at home in September, and this won't be any exception, but they just can't compete on offense. Low scoring all the way in this one. PREDICTION: Titans 14, Dolphins 10 RAVENS-BROWNS If there is something the Ravens do effectively, it is beat the Browns. Kind of like how Green Bay always beats the Bears. Lewis rushes for 200 Yards and 2 TDs. PREDICTION: Ravens 35, Browns 7 JETS-BENGALS The Jets are the best shot in the East to knock off New England. The Bengals are my pick to win the North and were red hot in the pre-season. However, the experience of the Jets is too much for the young Bengals on this day and Pennington will tear apart the mediocre Cincy defense. PREDICTION: Jets 34, Bengals 24 TEXANS-CHARGERS The Texans defense is bad, but still better than San Diego's and their offense should be much improved over the Bolts. The Chargers will do well enough to keep Brees on the field for another week (thanks to LT), but that's about it. PREDICTION: Texans 20, Chargers 14 BEARS-LIONS The Lions are on the verge, but I think they need another year of experience first and since the Lions never win on the road and the Bears are not nearly as bad at home, this isn't a difficult pick. The score is closer than the game is as the Lions make a run late after the Bears already have it won. PREDICTION: Bears 24, Lions 17 SAINTS-SEATTLE Seattle is my pick to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, but they are in tough this week. If they were at home, they win this easily, but to ask Seattle to travel practically the entire country and win in the Superdome is just too much. They lose this week, but not too often for the rest of the year. This is going to be a shootout. PREDICTION: Saints 38, Seahawks 35 TAMPA BAY-WASHINGTON Two teams headed in opposite directions. Tampa is a team in transition from the Super Bowl year to a more traditional Gruden offensive team, but they are still talented enough to snatch a few games. Gibbs is too clever to fall for that. PREDICTION: Redskins 28, Bucs 16 STEELERS-RAIDERS Steelers are underrated and at home. Raiders are overrated. I have news for you, they ARE as bad as last year, at least until Collins gets the starting job. PREDICTION: Steelers 28, Raiders 9 RAMS-ARIZONA Arizona @ St. Louis? Heh heh... PREDICTION: Rams 48, Cards 0 BILLS-JAGUARS This could be the sleeper game of the week and is very telling of what may happen the rest of the way as both teams are considered to be highly regarded darkhorse teams. Buffalo has more talent, and they should be motivated for this game at least, so I give them the edge, but it will be close. PREDICTIONS: Bills 21, Jaguars 20 EAGLES-GIANTS Warner goes down in the 1st and the Giants begin their trek towards giving San Diego the top pick in the 2005 Draft. Eagles are overrated, but the Giants would have trouble beating the Toronto Argos. PREDICTION: Eagles 27, Giants 3 COWBOYS-VIKINGS Dallas sucks, but Minnesota has a history of playing down to their competition. I am really tempted to go with Dallas here, but I think Minny will pull it out in the 4th despite Dallas holding the O in check for most of the game. PREDICTION: Vikings 20, Dallas 16 ATLANTA-49ERS Unless Vick breaks his leg again, this is a rout. The Niners are even worse than their across-the-bay counterparts. And believe me, that's pretty bad. PREDICTION: Falcons 34, Niners 14 CHIEFS-BRONCOS Big game here with huge AFC West implications given the horrid state of the two Californian teams. Can Denver stop Priest? The answer is no, but they will win anyways since the Chiefs can't stop anybody at all. PREDICTION: Broncos 38, Chiefs 34 PACKERS-PANTHERS The Panthers are headed for a big fall after their tremendous performance last season, and the last thing they want to see is Brett Favre warming up opposite them on Monday night. PREDICTION: Packers 23, Panthers 17

Does Bischoff add anything to the show?

My big problem is the constant sucking up to HHH. This goes for Evolution too. The guy has been getting his ass beat for months now and spent all summer trying to take care of a retard, while Orton got one shot at Benoit and beat him clean. Wouldn't it make sense for the heels to side with the winner, especially if he isn't much of a face to begin with such as the case with Orton?
  9. Kahran Ramsus

    Orton is a ratings DRAW~!

I'm beginning to think that maybe they should have pushed Batista instead of Orton. He always seems to get good reactions.

    Make a statement

I agree, in fact with this in mind... STATEMENT: If Ted Turner was still in charge, WCW would still be around. He would kept the company afloat no matter how much money it was losing (see 1993).

    Make a statement

STATEMENT: Kane's burial is the biggest crime in the company. He consistantly draws well when ever given a chance, certainly moreso than Jericho or RVD or any other guy on the shit list.

Should We Say "Told You So"?

Some, but in all fairness the ecomony was in the shitter for most of the First Empire. France was much better off in the far less popular Second Empire under Napoleon III. After the Franco-Prussian War (and the disasterous Communist takeover of Paris the next year), France never recovered its prestige, even to this day.

Should We Say "Told You So"?

Don't forget that France also produced the worst dictator in history prior to Hitler and not only allowed him free reign once, but welcomed him back with open arms after he got beat the first time.

Name some moves that you think only

I think Ron Garvin was using it prior to either, just not as his finisher, but he would ues it occasionally.

When were you last a mark?

I was never really that much of a mark, but I still acted a lot like one when I was younger. For example, I knew stuff like Dibiase's partner at SS90 was supposed to be 'Mean' Mark Callous or that Big John Studd was going to win RR89, but I still had some markishness in me. It was definitely all out of my system by the time Flair showed up in the WWF in 1991, although I will still mark out on occasion, even today.

The True "Total Package" of Wrestling?

I agree that Austin & Flair are 1 and 2, but nobody has mentioned my #3 guy who I believe deserves it...Randy Savage. He was a great brawler. He could wrestle nice technical matches. He was charismatic. He was a good draw (circa 1988). He could carry slugs (ex. Warrior) to great matches. He was certainly unique and remains one of the most well known stars of the 80s. He wrestled through injuries constantly. He also had longevity. He was wrestling great matches as early as 1986 in the WWF and as late as 1997 against DDP in WCW. I see him as the best performer in Wrestlemania history (Steamboat at III, Four Matches in One Night at IV, Hogan's best ever match at V, Warrior's best ever match at VII, great match with Flair at VIII) as well. Savage could do it all.

    Main event tryouts

I didn't say that it wasn't, but the big thing about that feud was that Benoit beat the crud out of him every time they fought pretty much, especially on PPV. He dominated that feud. Jericho didn't even get a major win over him at all until Royal Rumble 2001, and by that point Benoit was already de-pushed. He did job to HHH immediately, but he also beat Rock a couple of weeks later. The job his first night wasn't the one that hurt him, the No Mercy job to HHH was far more damaging. Angle very nearly suffered the same fate after the loss at Unforgiven, especially after his previous embarrassments at Fully Loaded & Summerslam.

    Creative shakeups coming?

Steph is the big problem, not Pritchard.

    Main event tryouts

To be fair about Benoit, he's had a couple of bad bits of misfortune. During his first year, he had a nice extended run at the top for about four months and got to beat pretty much every midcarder he faced. But because the Rikishi angle was a complete failure, they had to turn HHH heel again and Benoit ended up being pushed back down the card. In 2001, Benoit got done with a lengthy series against Kurt Angle where he got a few strong wins including the Ultimate Submission Match and 2 straight falls in the 2 out of 3 Falls Match. At Judgment Day he wrestled a Three Stages From Hell match with Kurt, then came back to win the Tag Team Turmoil, the Tag Titles the next night on RAW, and TLC 3 (where his performance was the main story point) the night after that. He had a couple of fantastic matches with Steve Austin, and then he gets hurt and by the time he came back he had fallen into the same trap that Jericho had fallen into in 2000 and since. He will always be in a better position than Jericho because the office respects him a lot more, but his chance to be a permanent main eventer was lost after they failed to captilize on the reaction he got at Royal Rumble 2003. The writing was on the wall by then, but do not ignore that he was in fact pushed quite hard in his first year, prior to November. Up until the injury, his WWF career matched up quite well with that of Kurt Angle's. It was only during the Invasion, when Benoit was hurt, that Kurt truly made the next step and left Benoit behind.

    WWE Title Vs World Title

Billy Gunn is better than David Arquette and Vince Russo. And it isn't anything new about midcarders getting the World Title. Look at Rick Martel in the AWA or Ron Garvin in the NWA. Onto the topic at hand, the WWE Championship certainly has the lineage over the World Championship, but I don't really care much about that no matter how many times I call the World Championship the Fake World Title (usually when it is being treated like a second rate belt such as most of last year). How it is being used is what is important. That said, since HHH was given the belt in 2002, the only time I think it was on the same level as the World Title is at Wrestlemania XX and the early stages of Benoit's title run. It just seems that the World Belt is always secondary to the world title feuds (ie. all the Eugene stuff), whereas on Smackdown it seems to be the basis for the feud (ie. Bradshaw is pissed that an immigrant like Eddy has the belt). Wrestlers on Smackdown seem to want the WWE Title moreso than the RAW wrestlers want the World Title. Therefore, I think the WWE Title is more important, even though it is on the lesser show.

How to stomp out a return...

Shawn, yes. Show, no. He has more value and can fill the much needed monster heel role that Smackdown desperately needs right now. Show's value is more long-term than Shawn's is and they didn't lose as much by not making it a surprise.

    This is Cute

well like she said....fight fire with fire......... I don't know, I'd rather fight fire with water to be honest.

    All 3 Wrestlemania Sets

Was that the set released before WM XIV or WM XV? I know of them features it, and one has it taken out. I have the one that includes XV, but for some reason it is also called Legacy.
