    Daredevil Director's Cut

This version is only for fans of the film. The assumption is that the audience would already have the first disk.

    The Australian Election

At least we will get another chance in a year or so. The Liberals are already fighting among themselves and parliament hasn't even been called yet, so there is no way Martin can hold the balance of power.

    Protestor ruins Olympic Marathon

I don't know if anybody just got done watching the marathon, but one of the worst incidents in Olympic event history occurred when a protestor attacked the lead runner from Brazil when he was dominating the race and basically cost him the gold. This is a terrible way to end the Games.

    All 3 Wrestlemania Sets

I have the Legacy Set and Piper's Pit is there at WM V. What gets cut are the CHV exclusive interviews (such as Steamboat at WM IV) and there is a brief cut in Money Inc/Mega Maniacs from IX. Other than that, the entire shows are there. They are still in EP however.

    Quick WWE survey

    1) The WWE product is better now than it was one year ago. True. Last year at this time we were enduring a horrible HHH/Goldberg feud, and the McMahons were all over TV (Kane/Shane feud, Steph/Vince feud). It is better now. 2) The WWE product is better now than it was three years ago. False. As big a failure as the Invasion was, it was at least original and the match quality was much better. 3) The WWE product is better now than it is five years ago. True. 1999 was the worst year in WWE history. 4) I believe the in-ring product has improved in the last three years. False. In 2001 we had Rock, Angle, Jericho & Austin at the top of the card and they all could have great matches with each other. Certain guys sucked more (Taker & Kane), but overall the match quality was better. Especially in the first half of the year when Benoit & HHH were still in their pre-injury conditions. Wrestlemania X-7 is the best WWE PPV ever. 5) I believe the storylines/feuds/angles have improved in the last three years. False. I like the Orton/Evolution saga, but the rest of the storylines are either ridiculous (Kane/Lita marriage) or boring. 6) I wish WCW and ECW were still in existence. False. I do miss them when they were at their peak. But at the end they were in worse condition than WWE is now. WCW & ECW dug their own graves, lay down in them, and then pulled in the dirt on themselves. 7) The WWE will have no real competition in the next five years. True. TNA is a joke and they are the biggest competitors. 8) It was smart for the WWE to go to a "less is more" in ring style. True. It might not work (the quality of matches have gone down), but it was worth a shot given the injuries they were getting before. Just look at the way injuries have destroyed the careers of Edge & Kurt Angle. HHH, Undertaker, Benoit & Austin all had major injuries and these aren't just nobodies. 9) I believe the RAW brand is superior to Smackdown. True. Smackdown is dull as dirt. It seems as they lost their heart and soul when Benoit left and most of the wrestlers are just going through the motions. Only JBL even seems to be putting in effort these days. 10) If I could convince Vince Macmahon to push one guy on either roster to the moon, it would be: Chris Jericho. Ship him to Smackdown where he can give some life to the show and then let him run wild as a heel, 98 style, where he was a complete asshole but could usually win clean. Face Jericho is crap, and he is doing nothing on RAW anyways.

    Edge Injured Again...

Batista should have won the belt at Summerslam. This is really unfortunate for Edge though. He is underrated around these parts, at least as far as his in-ring work is concerned. He is a much better worker than Christian is.

    Protestor ruins Olympic Marathon

They can't. In a sprint sure, but a marathon is too tough to run twice in succession. It takes a couple of weeks to recover from one. They should just give him a second gold. Only way I can see them solving this.

40% of world lacks basic sanitation

That's if the warlords in charge actually lets the US do that without a fight, which I seriously doubt. That means removing them from power first, which means a military invasion, which most of the world and much of the US won't stand for. Many people in Europe and North America seem to have a real hard time understanding that most of these poor countries are not run by efficient democracies or even benevolent dictators begging for aid. About the only African country that isn't being run into the ground is South Africa.

GOP to back ban on gay marriage

That's why I agree with it. You at least have some common sense. You don't just spout out your word as if it were law like Loss does. I'm sure MikeSC doesn't care enough about the issue to protest gay marriage if it was voted on by his representatives. That's what they are there for. The courts are supposed to interpret the law, not make new ones.

GOP to back ban on gay marriage

That democracy thing is overrated anyways. Everybody would be happier with Saddam running the US the way he did Iraq. BTW, I see nothing wrong about gay marriage, although I don't care enough either way to lose sleep over what happens. But I recognize for this (and other issues) that public opinion means alot. It is your job to convince the public change. If you are unwilling to do that (and calling your opponents hatemongers won't help), then this is not a battle that you will win. If you were the one that had the backing, then things would be different. There is another option as well. Downplay the issue to the point that the opponents no longer care about it. You aren't doing that either.

Hulk Hogan - Atomic Leg Drop Sure other people can do regular leg drops, but I have yet to see another superstar who has the power to basically put their opponents in a coma with one.

They won't let us. That's the problem. Look at the backlash against Bush going after Saddam. Imagine if he tried taking out some two-bit dictator nobody's ever heard of. This is entirely the fault of the UN.

    NFL Flops

Much like darkhorses, these come along every year. Which Super Bowl contender a year ago ends up completely falling off the map in 2004, like Oakland & Tampa did last year? NFC - Carolina Panthers. Overachievers tend to fall apart the next season, in large part because luck runs out. The D is good enough, but I don't think the offense will hold up with the overrated Delhomme leading the charge. It is rare these days that both Super Bowl teams come back with good records the next year, and I don't think anyone will argue that New England is the better team overall than this one. With the underachieving Saints, the rebuilding but still dangerous Bucs, and the Falcons with a healthy Vick, they could very well finish last in a tough NFC South. Dallas & St. Louis are also on the way down, but Dallas wasn't nearly as good as Carolina and I don't think the Rams will fall quite as far as long as they get to beat up on the worthless Cards & 9ers for 4 games a year. AFC - Baltimore Ravens. They still can't pass, and Boller isn't looking as good as even Rex Grossman from his own class of QBs, let alone Leftwich or Palmer. He has bust written all over him. Lewis is headed to court in November and will miss at least a few games if they can't get it delayed. This is bad since he is their only offensive weapon. On top of all of this, Ray Lewis is on the cover of Madden 2005...uh oh...

    Ricky Williams mulling a comeback?

It is, but he failed a 4th right after he retired. Therefore he is gone for the year.

    NFL Darkhorse

I don't consider the Jets or Falcons darkhorses since they were lousy largely due to injuries. The Seahawks went to OT on the road against the hottest team in the NFC last year in the WildCard playoffs, despite a severe case of butterfingers by the WRs. I consider them the best team in the NFC, and I'm not alone. They aren't a darkhorse. There is no denying though that Buffalo & New Orleans were bad teams last year, and didn't significantly improve in the off-season (unlike Washington). They are true darkhorses.
  20. Generally speaking, Mark Henry was never the 'World's Strongest Man', no matter how many WSM shows he won. It is an unofficial title (like 'World's Fastest Man' for the 100m Winner) for the Gold Medal Winner of the Superheavyweight Division in the Olympics. Since Mark Henry never won, he was never the 'World's Strongest Man' in the legitimate media.

Pot grower faces murder charges for firefighter

No. The act of hunting isn't illegal. If you were trying to shoot at some guy and missed and caused a fatal fire, then you would be responsible.

Pot grower faces murder charges for firefighter

Of course. We are all just saying what he should be charged with. If they can't sufficiently prove it, then he will get off and no harm done. There are exceptions to 'intent to kill' definition. For example, if you break into a guy's house and he dies from a heart attack as a result, by definition you are guilty of murder (Part VIII, Section 230). Or if you are guilty of culpable homicide against a police officer, it is an automatic first degree murder charge, even if he was a normal citizen it would only be manslaughter (Part VIII, Section 231.4a).

    NFL Darkhorse

I wouldn't rule out anybody but the following teams...Cardinals, 49ers, Giants, Raiders, Dolphins, Chargers & Browns. However, there are some that are more likely than others. NFC - New Orleans Saints. I didn't pick them to make the playoffs, but they could make a good run. They have great talent on offense, even with the inconsistant Brooks at QB and the DEF should be improved. They also lost some flukey games last year. Carolina will fall off and Tampa Bay is in transition from a Dungy team to a Gruden team and likely won't contend this year as a result. Detroit is next year's big dark horse. They are still too young and have too many holes on D for this year. I would consider Washington, but people are starting to think too highly of them so I no longer consider them a darkhorse since success is almost expected. AFC - Buffalo Bills. They had a fantastic D a year ago and a fantastic O two years ago. Now only if they can put the two together. They are set at RB on offense and Moulds is in one of his patented even years which according to the pattern he has set throughout his career means a big season from him. The loss of Moulds (along with the idiot Gilbride who was sent packing) was a big part of the ineptness of the offense last season. Evans should be an upgrade over Reed. They have the potential to be really, really good if they put it all together. The only thing stopping them if it happens is a tough division with the Jets & Pats leading the way. Miami has no shot to win the Super Bowl, but they are still more talented than the other scrubs (and some of the darkhorses) and are far from a sure win when they show up on the schedule (except for December/January). EDIT: Dammit. pinjockey beat me when I was writing my response. I seriously did not copy off of him.

Pot grower faces murder charges for firefighter

From the Criminal Code of Canada. I was wrong when I said he was guilty of murder. He is actually guilty of manslaughter because the cultivation of narcotics does not fall under the list of criminal acts that do constitute murder if a death is caused intentionally or not during them (ex. robbery, breaking and entering, etc.) If it was a cop and not a fireman, he would automatically be guilty of First Degree Murder. The US probably has similar laws, but since they do have 3rd Degree Murder (Canada doesn't) he may very well be guilty of that instead. I don't know. Yes, but then it would just be negligence, not criminal negligence and thus he wouldn't be held responsible for the death, although he would still probably get a minor charge. It is the cannibas that makes it criminal. You may disagree that the law should work that way, but that doesn't change the fact that it does. If you are against it that badly, petition to get it changed.

    Holy Shitty Timing Batman

ABC can't afford to drop MNF. Like the article says, if they do they will lose their entire young male audience and see the affiliates drop them at an alarming rate.
