American networks want women to watch, and women don't like sports. Therefore we get lots of Dateline-esqe human interest stories about the athletes, and gymnastics. Hmm...in Canada they do. That still doesn't explain the lack of live coverage though.

Freestyle ends on the 29th I believe.

I'm up for the second round starting at 7:00. Men's Road Race is going on now.
-
You're going to have to be more specific than that. Wrestling runs from the 22nd to the 29th.
-
I missed it earlier due to work so I'm watching the tape now (CBC version of course). I never understood why American coverage is so crummy.
-
Will do.

It is for the best. If you do it by sport instead, the board will become too cluttered. Do you want me to make them if you're not here?

TSN Live Coverage begins at 1:30 tonight, with CBC picking up for the rest of the day starting at 7:00 am. Including replays during off-hours, we'll have basically 24hrs/day coverage.

Archery also began yesterday with the Koreans setting three world records in the rankings. It wasn't a good day for Canada. Marie-Pier Beaudet (Seed 47) will take on Cornelia Pfohl (18) of Germany. Jonathan Ohayon (50) will go up against Viktor Ruban (15) of the Ukraine. Neither Canadian was a medal contender going in. Defending Silver Medalist from the United States, Vic Wunderle placed 43rd and will face Mahji Sawaiyan (22) of India. Top 3 Seeds Men Im Dong Hyun (Korea) - 687pts - WR Magnus Petersson (Sweden) - 673pts Marco Galiazzo (Italy) - 672pts Women Park Sung-hyun (Korea) - 682pts - WR Lee Hyun-Jung (Korea) - 675pts Yun Mi-Jin (Korea) - 673pts

Total switch to High Definition brodcasting?
Kahran Ramsus replied to JJMc's topic in Television & Film
People are not going to be buying a bunch of new TVs because of HDTV, but it will take off as soon as they release affordable converters. It is quite a long ways away (probably between 2010-12) before the complete market takeover, but it will happen. They need to get penetration in the 80% range (or more, I've heard some sources say 95%) before it becomes feasible, but it will eventually happen. -
Not quite. Athleticism or talent is a big part of it, not just effort. A talented athlete like Kurt Angle is going be able to have a higher workrate than someone like Big Show, no matter what the effort is. Big Show just can't physically wrestle a long time without spending a lot of time resting.

Chicago wins 17 seconds into OT, 13-10. The Rams really were lucky to get that far after the Bears dropped a sure TD-Interception on the Rams 8 YD line and dropped a Hail Mary TD pass at the end of the regulation that the Rams coverage foolishly knocked into the air instead of down.

The Rams D completely fell apart on the last drive. 10-10

John wins! I like Alonzo and all, but he was off on Tuesday. John deserved it.

Its on KTLA.

Keep in mind that the Falcons had the worst D in the league last year.

Ray's answer is the correct one. Generally speaking, you do two things in a match, work (action, it doesn't necessarily mean holds but anything which doesn't involve the next type) or rest (restholds, double KO spots, stall, etc.). When there is a lot of the former and a limit on the latter, a match is said to have good workrate. A wrestler who uses a lot of restholds and stalling (ex. Christian) is said to be a poor worker. The opposites are also true. High workrate makes wrestlers exciting, but it isn't the end all of wrestling because it doesn't depend just on wrestling. Benoit & Angle chain-wrestling for 10 minutes is working, but so is Mick & HHH slugging each other. RVD is a terrible wrestler, but he has a high workrate. William Regal is a good wrestler, but his workrate isn't that high. For the most part though, a high-level of workrate is a good thing.

In a political system with raving lunatics like Howard Dean or Dennis Kucinich running around, I'll take John Kerry any day. I like the guy, I just don't like the guys he hangs around with (except for Edwards).

I know how to play the game, but have never played by EMail so I don't know what that involves. Care to explain? Like how long I get to make my turns and stuff.

This season has been a complete disaster.

I was pissed enough that Kefka lost to Sephiroth. Now, Kefka/Luca, that would be an interesting battle. As entertaining as Luca Blight is though, his brother-in-law is the better character.

Ralph Fiennes cast in Harry Potter 4
Kahran Ramsus replied to Anakin Flair's topic in Television & Film
I disagree (well not about POTA sucking more, but that he should take the role). In POTA he was pretty much the star of the film or at least the most popular character. In Harry Potter he wouldn't have nearly as major a role. Snape does even less in GOF before getting more time in OOTP. -
Michaels shouldn't even be in the Top 10 PERIOD. I don't know whos banana he peeled to get the #1 slot, but thats just insane considering he was pretty much inactive from January-August and was on TV mainly as Diesels corner man up until November. He was also the colour man on RAW for most of the year. He didn't wrestle much at all in 1994.

Chris Benoit's about to lose the title to Randy Orton.

Heenan is the funniest so I voted for him, but Jesse is the better one.
