Yeah, it'll probably win the GameFAQs poll...
Kahran Ramsus replied to AndrewTS's topic in Video Games
I should hope so. I mean, I'd expect that from a FFanatic who has played all of 3 non-Square RPGs in his/her life, but you should know better. Yes, I should. Considering I've played practically all these RPGs out there. ...I feel so old saying that. And presumably that one is FFVI, I hope. -
Not quite. That is just our form of government. It just means we have a monarch, but the power belongs to an elected parliament. It says nothing about whether the monarch is a foreign or domestic one. Saskatchewan is a big NDP province generally. I'm voting against the Liberals more than for the Conservatives. The last 11 years have crippled the country and AdScam was the last straw. I like Martin, but we need change.

I agree on this, but since Limit Breaks are the ONLY thing besides weapons in FFVII that are different among the different characters, I don't complain too much about it. I actually think that the Limit Breaks in FFVIII, which are similar to the FFVI ones but less random, are the best in the series. Unlike FFVI you can actually build strategies around it. It doesn't save that game of course, but it should be noted regardless. -
At the cinema. I try to avoid Friday & Saturday nights when all the teenagers are out though. They have a tendency to yak all throughout movies.

Edge. Christian is the more charismatic, but when Edge is given the right material he is nothing to sneeze at either. He also has a more marketable look. The real difference comes in terms of skill. Edge isn't exactly Chris Benoit in the ring, but he's above average and I would even say good when it comes to being a worker. He has had several good-to-great matches involving the likes of Lance Storm and the Smackdown Six, and had a tendency to do the bulk of the work in E&C's tag matches. Christian isn't that great at all as a worker. He is average at best. Even his matches with Chris Jericho, who is a very good wrestler, weren't that great, certainly not on the level of Edge/Storm. Edge gets criticized for his selling, but Christian's isn't much better and his moveset is one of the weakest in the company. Christian has one big advantage over Edge, he's healthier. Not taking that into account, Edge is the superior worker, and it isn't even really that close, much like other top teams in the past (Matt > Jeff, Bret > Anvil, Martel > Tito, DK > Davey Boy, etc.). Christian is the perfect example of a tag team wrestler. He does very well in that environment, both with Edge and with Chris Jericho. He doesn't bring enough to the table in singles.

"Sometimes Vince Does Things to be nice"

The talent would have come anyways. They would have been out of a job and Vince could have picked who he wanted. The invasion angle and the tape library are the big things that WCW offered. -

I don't know why people always seem to think that. WCW was dead. Either Vince would buy it and we would at least get an invasion angle (which flopped) and the WCW library (which has been a huge success, look at the Flair DVD), or it would simply disappear. There was no other option. Nobody else was even in the running to buy it after Time Warner kicked them off TBS & TNT. -
She is only a figurehead, and her representative, the GG, has no real power either. It would not make one whit of difference in how Canada conducts its affairs if it abolishes its ties to the monarchy or not. That's what I was saying. Britain has absolutely no influence on us, yet officially we are linked to them.

The first was garbage, so I take it that this is one to avoid.

Morrison, no question. The 90s wasn't kind to the X-Titles.

I don't like the ending because based on what we know about the Max Von Sydow character, his choice makes no sense. That said, it is based off of Dick, so there is a possibility that everything after Anderton gets halo'd might be a dream.

No system is 100% perfect. There will always be mistakes. If an innocent man gets the death penalty, one innocent man dies. If a guilty man goes free, several innocents may die. Several is worse than one.

Actually we are not 'completely' independent from Britain. In all practical terms we are, but formally we're still a dominion of their empire. Queen Elizabeth II is our official head of state.

1) Yes 2) No

That's not what I'm arguing. I'm arguing that it is an effective punishment.

I'd be for the above, but you just can't open the floodgates until the system is fully in place. Turn the CFL & NFL Europe into farm leagues and I won't have anything to complain about.

If life actually meant life, it wouldn't be necessary. But since that isn't the case, there is a need for it. It is the only one sure-fire way to make sure that a murderer won't get a chance to do it again.

A-Rod hit .358 at the age of 20, in 1996. Should he have been forced to spend more time in AAA because he was too young? Is A-Rod a regularly skilled player or the exception? 1 A-Rod isn't worth 200 Adrian Beltres. There is no other option in the NFL. It is worth keeping one player or a handful of other players in the minors for a whole extra year, then allowing hundreds into MLB early who can't cut it.

2 for GC, 2 for PS2, 6 for PS1. Those PS1 cards don't carry much. Sports games have a tendency to clog up cards quick.

The problem with the Dreamcast was Sega. They killed their entire consumer base with the 32X/Sega CD crap, so even when they did turn things around their name was so tainted that nobody would give them a chance. Same thing that happened with WCW. -
It isn't education that's the issue. It's age. I don't know why they just don't set an arbitrary age limit, but what they have is better than nothing. MLB & the NHL don't have this problem because of their minor league systems. You draft a young guy and then send him there until he is ready to be called up. There isn't this luxury in the NBA or NFL. By getting rid of the limit, you are essentially eradicating the equivalent of the minor league programs. In the NBA this has been disasterous, forcing several prospects into the big leagues when they are far from ready and causing the quality of play in the league to decline. Football is a more physical sport so the effects would be even worse in the NFL. For those who support Clarett, you have to ask yourself if you also support the elimination of the minor leagues in baseball. If the answer is no, then you should really re-think your position on this issue.

If I was a betting man, and this is based on history, not necessarily my personal viewpoints, I think that the Conservatives will take the government. Momentum is huge in Canadian politics with the short election season and it is extremely difficult to turn things around in time when it is going south. I'd say that there is almost no chance of a Liberal majority at this point, barring a fantastic performance by Martin or braindead performance by Harper at the debates. The Liberals have no chance in Quebec, and if they lose Ontario too, they are sunk. A Conservative minority is probably the best bet at the moment, but even a Conservative majority isn't out of the question. The Liberals might pull out a minority, but I really don't see them grabbing 155 seats. My guess is Harper. Layton basically called him a murderer, and it is political suicide to link yourself to the Bloq.

Thanks everybody. Neither. I got to sleep in 'til noon.

The story (according to Scott Keith) is that it was a 6-Man Match between Ultimate Warrior & LOD and Demolition, but Warrior & Crush no-showed so it was made LOD vs. Ax & Smash. Ax was still around until after Survivor Series anyways, because he wrestled there as a part of the Perfect Team. This is supposed to be the one and only time the original LOD faced the original Demolition. Every other time they faced in a 2on2 tag match it was Smash & Crush.

Just be glad they aren't going with the awful spandex versions.
