Yeah, it'll probably win the GameFAQs poll...
Kahran Ramsus replied to AndrewTS's topic in Video Games
I don't even think FFVII is the best PS1 Final Fantasy game (not including FFT). Final Fantasy IX is much more enjoyable. -
Chappelle questioned Jack about this after he got back from Mexico. Jack agreed to go to rehab after the crisis was over and Chapelle covered the whole thing up. To build tension between him and Michelle. Also the storyline was resolved when Michelle confronted Chapelle about it and he discovered that Tony was fit to run CTU after all. It was a job. When the job was over, that was that. Kate never would have known about it. Presumably they broke up over Jack's job and possibly in part due to his inability to move on from the death of his wife. His heroin addiction might have been part of it. Jack's personal life is pretty screwed up. That was her motivation for going to his place. She didn't even go there with the intent on killing him, she just wanted to find something more out about him that she could use. While there an oppurtunity presented itself to make it look like an accident and she took advantage of it. The subplot also is there to take away sympathy for Milligan, both for the audience and for Palmer. I've covered most of this above, but Kate was not a popular character. It was a toss-up between who viewers wanted to be killed off more, her or Kim. It is just backstory for Chase, and serves as an obstacle as far as the relation with him and Kim are concerned. Nothing more. Nothing came from this because Kim got over it. I don't think they would be joking about a treason charge. Things escalated to the point where this didn't matter. They all died. Does it matter how? You are wasting time that could be used on more important matter. Offering the choice is the important part. We don't need to see the results from that when they don't affect any of the major characters. We know what happened. Why would we want to see the bad guys win? Sounds like you wouldn't like any of the seasons. Palmer wasn't killed in Season 1. LA wasn't nuked in Season 2 and the war was stopped at the last minute. They were trying to stop the virus from getting out. They succeeded. End of story.

Playoffs have begun finally. Delgado won MVP (Chipper Jones in the NL) and Halladay won the Cy Young (Pettite in the NL). Both are free agents at the end of the year. The Jays are playing Kansas City in the Divisional Playoffs (Boston vs. Seattle in the other). The Fisher Cats are playing the Sea Dogs. The Skychiefs are playing golf.

Not right at the moment, but he should be by the fall. Ideally, he would take the title starting the Evolution breakup and HHH/Orton feud.

The Shawshank Redemption was the best in terms of quality. Pulp Fiction was the most influential.

1994 or 2003. I am inclined to go with 1994 only because my opinions on those films are pretty much set, whereas I could still be hyped up about 2003. I will give it a couple of years to get a better judgment. 2003 is the closest though. 1981 was pretty kickass too with Raiders of the Lost Ark and Chariots of Fire.

I figured it was about time to start hyping this film, with it coming out in less than two weeks. Early reviews seem to indicate that this is the first great film of the summer, and they are overwhelmingly positive. I haven't see a single negative review yet. http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=17637 I am really looking forward to this one. PoA is where the book series started the turn towards a darker story, and greatly improved in quality. Couple that with a big improvement at the director position with Cuaron and I am more hyped for this than any other film this year. PoA is also the set-up of my favourite book in the series, GoF, where hell really breaks loose. I imagine this will be a huge success at the BO as well. It isn't all that popular in the United States, but worldwide the first two films are #3 and #7 all-time respectively.

There are two wrestlers I really go out of my way to see whenever they are on. Benoit and Eugene. I could see voting for Regal too since he has done a ton to get Eugene over.

Today I beaned Derek Jeter in the head and knocked him out for the season. Sniff...it just brings tears to my eyes...

Everybody with half a brain (or a fifth in the case of the booking team) knew that Brock would be a huge star some day. They gave it to him too soon yes, but he was like Angle. You knew he would be a big star the moment he showed up. They gave it to him on the belief that it would give him credibility, which it ended up doing. That type of prospect comes along very rarely. RVD is not of that calibre. The closest is probably Cena. Maybe Orton.

Do the Beavers play in Oregon then?

Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban
Kahran Ramsus replied to Kahran Ramsus's topic in Television & Film
Well thats definitely not too bad in the long-run. I know I'm going to get yelled at for this, but who is Tom Feltons character? I think I know, but I don't want to make an ass out of myself....anymore than I usually do. He plays Draco Malfoy, but he was always small for his age. The big problem is that people who haven't read the books have this idea that Harry stays 11 in all of them. At least that was the big complaint from that last movie, that Harry wasn't a cute little kid anymore. Well, duh, he's not supposed to be. He's a teenager for the vast majority of the series, and it is supposed to represent the high school years. -
It is all about the Conservatives. After the budget put forward by the Ontario Liberals last week, anyone in this province would be insane to vote for their federal brethren. Layton is nuts. So that leaves the Conservatives. On a personal note, I would laugh like hell if McGuinty's brother got beat in Ottawa South. I always vote in my true home riding of Durham East, but I spend most of the year in Ottawa.

Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban
Kahran Ramsus replied to Kahran Ramsus's topic in Television & Film
The age of the characters in Prisoner of Azkaban is 13-14, depending on when their birthdays are. Daniel Radcliffe will be 15 in July. Emma Watson just turned 14 last month. Rupert Grint is 15. Tom Felton will be 17 this year. -
This isn't why I'm not going to see it. I'm merely pointing it out, because I believe when you are using a film as a political tool that it should at least attempt to be accurate. Rewriting history is one thing, rewriting physics is something else. I'm not seeing because the trailers looked like crud and made it out to be the Core Part 2. If feedback was favourable, I would certainly think about it, but thus far it isn't. I feel the exact same way about Catwoman, and it has no message whatsoever aside from entertainment. I am not against mindless entertainment at all. I quite enjoyed Independence Day. Godzilla on the other hand was complete trash. Not all mindless entertainment is actually entertaining, as Van Helsing will show you. With better films coming out in the weeks surrounding it (Shrek 2 last week, Harry Potter 3 next week), there is no reason to see this.

I agree with Mike here. This is the point that Emmerich is trying to put forward. You don't see people making political arguments in the Harry Potter thread.

Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban
Kahran Ramsus replied to Kahran Ramsus's topic in Television & Film
They are definitely in Goblet of Fire. We know that much. -
I thought Deep Impact was alright. It wasn't a great movie, but it was easily better than Armageddon.

I don't agree with this at all, but at the same time Madden is the series I prefer, so I'm not exactly going to lose sleep over it.

Who knew eating a plate of bacon everyday was bad?
Kahran Ramsus replied to kkktookmybabyaway's topic in General Chat
It isn't even so much what you eat. As long as you... a) Don't eat too much of it. b) Work it off. -
Trip will be face. Orton is nothing without the cocky heel gimmick. Assuming Orton goes over, and he should, they are going to need him be the heel after booting HHH out of Evolution.

Aside from the idiotic Kane/Lita angle, RAW has been awesome since Wrestlemania. Best its been in ages.

Well, if it makes you feel better, nobody really lives in about 90% of it. -=Mike Yeah, I mean population-wise. Ottawa is somewhat tortured. The Sens are always disappointing, and they are always threatening to move the current last place Lynx, but we are good collegiately (Ravens basketball, Gee-Gees football), we finally have a CFL team back, and the 67s are the best and most historic franchise in the OHL.
