The audience didn't exactly respond very well when I saw it with Troy. I think it is safe to say that it isn't just fanboys that think it looks terrible, but the mainstream audience as well. Aside from Montreal, Cleveland is probably the most miserable franchise in baseball, that's why. Phillies come close though. Generally if you think of terrible baseball teams you think of the Phillies in the NL and Tribe in the AL. At least when the movie came out. As for my response, I think of the Tigers. Here is one of the most storied franchises in MLB and for the last ten years they have been awful. In the NFL, it is the Buffalo Bills. Since going to four Super Bowls in a row they have won one playoff game, and their most memorable moments since then have been the Music City Miracle and Jim Kelly getting carted off the field in the dying moments of a Wild Card game against the Jaguars in what would be his last game.

Say what you will about France & Germany, but they have a sense of morality and will not go to war with the US just because they are angry with them. There may be economic setbacks, but you won't see French militants blowing up American landmarks. That said I am completely against this proposed genocide. Strategically it makes sense, but my concience won't allow me to agree with it at all. It doesn't have to come to that, by any stretch of the imagination. You have 700+ dead in over a year. That is not nearly a high enough rate to indicate this is a major problem. We didn't have to resort to that in WW2 when we had far greater problems than we do now with Allied casualties in the millions. There is no need for it now.

The only real reactions that I heard from the audience were laughter and snickering following the Catwoman trailer, but audiences up here are notoriously quiet for anything besides hockey. It was a good movie, certainly better than Van Helsing, but not really the classic I was looking for. There is one gigantic flaw in this film that nearly brings it down. That being the insistance to make the cowardly cocksucker Paris out to be the good guy. I ended up absolutely hating him, when the movie wants me to feel sorry for him. I actually felt more for Meneleaus. On the good side, two characters steal this movie. Eric Bana's Hector and Sean Bean's Odysseus are the only characters who really seem to have an understanding of how the world works. They are the voices of reason surrounded by egotistical morons on both sides (Achilles & Agamemnon for the Greeks, Paris & Priam for the Trojans). The other good character is Achilles' second-in-command who puts up with his bullshit and remains loyal out of respect.

You Yankees fans should be worried. I'm going to see Pedro/Halladay tomorrow, and I have only seen the Jays win about 3 times in 15 years. They win less with me in the audience than they do with Lightenberg pitching.

Whenever myself has voted against Ramsus (which I think was once or twice), it was because I felt the other person was eviler than Ramsus. That was all. But you also voted for Luca, so you remain consistant.

I only played Suikoden II because I was bored and wanted a new RPG to play. I went to Blockbuster and it was under their 7-Day Rental label and I happened to have an EGM-Squared with it in, so I rented it. I bought it soon after, and spent the rest of the year trying to track down the first one until they re-released it in the fall. It is not something that got alot of hype, so I could see it slipping through the cracks. No. I'm just saying that neither Kahran nor Magus were heroes in most respects of the term. I was more saying they did deserve to be in the evil tourney and to get as far as they did. Shit, for all those reasons said is why I'm happy Luca made it this freaking far. I agree that they are villains, but I get annoyed when people complain about Ramsus not being a real villain because he wasn't completely evil, while saying diddly-squat about Kain and Magus. All three are pretty much in the same category. You can add Jowy Blight to the group too. I don't have a problem with it. Jowy & Ramsus are my two favourite RPG characters. I just find it very hypocritical to not vote for Ramsus because you use evilness as your basis, and then go ahead and vote for the other guys.
