Bad experiences introducing people to wrestling
Kahran Ramsus replied to a topic in General Wrestling
Generally speaking, I'm pretty successful. But one time I failed miserably. It was in September 1999, my first year at university and we had a shared TV lounge, and it was my job to convince the people there that RAW was worth watching. The show it ended up being was the night of 'This is Your Life, Rock', and needless to say, after that it was the end of watching RAW in its regular timeslot. Although, I at least got my roommate interested in it again (for the first time since Wrestlemania VI) after showing him Royal Rumble 2000. I noticed that throughout 2000 it was much easier than normal to get people into the product. Watching 'This is Your Life, Rock' was the one and only time I was ever embarrassed to be a wrestling fan. I just couldn't defend the segment at all, considering the calibre of the players involved (Rock, Mick, HHH) and the length of time it got to do absolutely nothing to put over the in-ring product. -
Because there are almost as many people in the New York City area as in our entire country. Last time I checked, New York has what, 8-10 million or so people living in it... in a country of 300 million, that statement isn't even close. And Los Angeles, the second-most populated city, has ZERO NFL teams. And one shitty ass baseball team. No the Angels don't count, they are in Anaheim, that's a whole different county. And what is it with Las Vegas having no professional sports teams whatsoever? I was talking about Canada. We have a population of 30 million, although I will admit that I overestimated New York's population.

No it won't. Jersey wants a Major League Baseball team. Apparently not, since they are happy with the Expos.
-
Roy Halladay and the Blue Jays spank the Tigers 11-0 today. About goddamn time. At least Halladay didn't wait until May to win one this year.

I know, but you don't hear them whining about it. Because they are right fucking next door.
-
What's next? New York complaining that they don't have an NFL team?

Like when Sephiroth beat Kefka?

Round 2 of the Evil Tourney: 2k4 Edition
Kahran Ramsus replied to Lightning Flik's topic in Video Games
Yes, since Deus is the corner stone of the Xenogears storyline. Yeah, but Xenogears sucks a wang, so Magus should win. Did I say I didn't like Magus? I think he's great. However, those are the rules I have to enforce. So if Magus did tie, he'd lose. Magus is more of a good guy anyways. -

You know... You could've done that. Now you can't because everyone is expecting it. I believe in the democratic process, even when they're wrong. -

I feel like editing everyone's posts to say Luca Blight wins. -
Don't even joke about that. We all know Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, and Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past are the favorites in our own gaming thing. What about Super Metroid?
-
I'm willing to keep going until after the actual draft.
-
It is on DVD, but I believe it is just the film. By far the best movie ever based off of a game.
-
It was Williams that got most of the publicity though. Especially after he also served in Korea.
-
They also lead AL teams with 40 walks. Batting average has little corelation with a team's success. OBP is a much better indicator. What about runs scored? Since it is that that actually wins games.
-
People would probably like Williams, if only because of him being in the war. I agree about DiMaggio. I will guarantee that if they were around today, Lou Gherig would be far more popular than Babe Ruth.
-
The general Canadian response to anything is to sit around and see who's winning, then side with them. Unless we are really pissed about something.

Well with Sean Jones chosen, it makes sense to draft the best player available which also happens to be at a position of need. With the 56th Overall Pick of the 2004 Smartmarks NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select J. P. Losman, Quarterback, Tulane Position: Quarterback School: Tulane Green Wave Status: Senior Height : 6-3 Weight: 220 40-Yard Dash: 4.72 Positives: J.P. Losman has the physical attributes you want in an NFL quarterback. He has good size (6-3, 220) and strength, a very strong arm that can make all the throws including the deep out, and one of the quickest releases in all of college football. Losman has decent agility, and good speed. He also has above average athletic ability. He can make plays with his feet and can throw on the run. He's a fiery competitor, a tough leader and can take a hit. He doesn't get shaken often. Negatives: Losman doesn't set his feet real well, throws off his back foot often causing the ball to sail, and doesn't rotate his hips properly. At Tulane, he played mostly out of the shotgun and will have to adjust to playing under center. He tends to rush his throws at times and will force the pass too often. Sometimes tries to make too much happen by himself. Also needs to work on reading coverages a little better. Projection: Tulane's J.P. Losman has everything NFL scouts look for in a quarterback, but he needs to polish his game a little, especially his footwork. He should be selected anywhere from the late-first to second round of the 2004 NFL Draft.

I would have liked to see what happened if Clemens plunked Cobb with a pitch.
-
He is happy.

Agreed. I like Barry Bonds. I think he is the best player in baseball right now, but ESPN is just being rediculous. Wake me when he passes Ruth. Then the end is sight.

It is mentioned several times in ESB. Most notably when Han is talking about the bounty hunter he ran into on Ord Mantell, and when Vader & Boba Fett are talking about it in Cloud City. More importantly, he also mentions it in ANH when he is going to take off prior to the Battle of Yavin.

It always was more a chick flick. It is my mother's favourite film. I found other films better too, like Casablanca for example.
