Sound Effects Editing which was won by Master & Commander, also had Finding Nemo & Pirates of the Caribbean nominated. Only the three were nominated in that category. LOTR won best Sound Mixing.

I would have given score to LOTR, and editing to Seabiscuit.

Lost. I think the point, though, was both were better than LotR. But if Mystic River won, that would be like the Yankees losing the World Series not mattering, just as long as they beat Boston. You get no points for second place. Lost In Translation still loses, whether it be to LOTR or Mystic River.

It matters because even if Mystic River in your case wins, it would still be the wrong choice. You should be cheering for a particular movie, not cheering for anything but a particular movie. From the way people are talking on here, they would be happy if Seabiscuit won Best Picture. Just as long as it isn't LOTR.

Mystic River and Lost in Translation were better movies...and should win. I said that early on. Which one should win? Your argument would be better if you keep saying about how Mystic River/Lost In Translation should win, rather than give reasons Return of the King shouldn't win.

Gregory Peck will get a tribute piece. That's probably it.

Here is my problem with those that want Lord of the Rings to lose. They seem to spend all their time tearing down Lord of the Rings, rather than say who should win.

Last Samurai was great as far as art design, costumes, cinematography are concerned, but it wasn't as good as a film as Master & Commander.

I want LOTR to win Best Picture, but sound really should have gone to Master & Commander.

I am getting the impression that Choken One isn't exactly a film student.

In a normal year, Master & Commander would have had that locked up.

I wouldn't think so...since it wasn't made for the movie...it was a single inserted into the movie Ok. Just wondering. I figured it would have been nominated had it been.

But hey that Eddy guy doesn't draw. Hey lets push Shawn again with his great track record of pulling in the crowds.

I don't want the guy to fail, but the truth is he doesn't get much heat at all. Especially compared to what he should be getting for someone in his position.
