Wasn't Godfather Part III nominated for both Worst Picture & Best Picture?
-
Paul Verhoeven showed up as well.

Something that should be mentioned that any baseball fan knows, is that coaching in more impotant in the National League where there is an added variable of the pitcher hitting. There is a lot more strategy involved in the NL which is why many people (including myself) are against the DH.

Not by the time of the awards ceremony. Pretty much everyone was picking Shakespeare in Love, after Miramax basically bought the award. -

That was the favourite. Probably Silence of the Lambs. -
I wanted to see a Perfect/Dibiase feud. The two greatest heels in the WWF from 1988-1991. I also wanted to see Perfect feud with Jake Roberts over the IC Title in 1990.

I'll say it. I don't mind Randy Orton as a wrestler or a speaker. The problem with Orton is that he has been given way too much, way too soon, and the fans are spitting it back. He is hyped and pushed so much that the backlash against him is equally hard. Putting him over Foley or Rock is absolutely the worst thing they can do for the poor kid. The fans in New York will completely shit all over it.

Who I think will win is in bold, who I think should win is underlined. Best Picture Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King Lost in Translation Mystic River Seabiscuit Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World Best Director Peter Jackson, Lord of the Rings: The Return of The King Clint Eastwood, Mystic River Sofia Coppola, Lost in Translation Peter Weir, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World Fernando Meierelles, City of God Best Actor Bill Murray, Lost in Translation Johnny Depp, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Cure of the Black Pearl Sean Penn, Mystic River Jude Law, Cold Mountain Ben Kingsley, The House of Sand and Fog Best Actress Keisha Castle-Hughes, Whale Rider Naomi Watts, 21 Grams Charlize Theron, Monster Diane Keaton, Something's Gotta Give Samantha Morton, In America Best Supporting Actor Benicio Del Toro, 21 Grams Tim Robbins, Mystic River Dijmon Hounsou, In America Alec Baldwin, The Cooler Ken Wantanabe, The Last Samurai Best Supporting Actress Patricia Clarkson, Pieces of April Renee Zellewegger, Cold Mountain Shoreh Aghdashloo, The House of Sand and Fog Holly Hunter, Thirteen Marcia Gay Harden, Mystic River Best Original Screenplay Denys Archand, The Barbarian Invasions Steven Knight, Dirty Pretty Things Andrew Stanton, Bob Peterson and David Reynolds, Finding Nemo Jim Sheridan, Naomi Sheridan and Kristen Sheridan, In America Sofia Coppola, Lost in Translation Best Adapted Screenplay Robert Pulci and Sherri Springer Berman, American Splendor Braulio Mantovani, City of God Fran Walsh, Phillipa Boyens and Peter Jackson, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Brian Helgeland, Mystic River Gary Ross, Seabiscuit Best Animated Feature Finding Nemo Brother Bear The Triplets of Belleville Best Foreign-Language Film The Barbarian Invasions (Canada) Evil (Sweden) The Twilight Samurai (Japan) Twin Sisters (The Netherlands) Zelary (The Czech Republics) I see Murray & Penn splitting the votes in Best Actor allowing Depp to sneak up and take it in a big shocker. The Barbarian Invasions has a screenplay nom so it is the easy pick for best foreign film. Copolla will get something in exchange for LOTR taking best picture, the question is how much. Mystic River will win the consolation screenplay award, but realistically, it will be a long night for Mystic River fans. Most of its thunder was stolen by Lost in Translation in recent weeks. -
U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown: "all look alike to me"...

No offense intended, but I'm white and I don't really notice the difference between other whites and hispanics at times. Aren't hispanics caucasian anyways? They certainly appear closer to whites than they do blacks or Asians, and there are only the three basic races. You can easily tell that Native Americans are Asian for instance. EDIT: I should probably add, that many hispanics are black (like Carlos Delgado). It seems to me to be a culture/nationality that transcends race. Sort of like being English. -
Yes, they are in general with the exception of football where so much depends on strategy.

I have the one of Wrestlemania I-XV, and it has Piper's Pit and the WM XI Encore too. I can't tell you about the scratch logo, because I didn't really pay attention. Does it really matter what logo is in the corner of the screen? I don't think they even started using it until X. I'll check it againt later though.

Combine that with his performance at Wrestlemania IV, and Savage is very much the best performer in Wrestlemania history.

Yeah. Chretien was a disgrace as Prime Minister.
-
I'm Canadian so I can't even get HBO.
-
Chretien wasn't ever willing to work with Bush.
-
I spend much of my time in Central Florida when I'm not here in Ottawa going to university. We get UPN there, but not Spike. And yes we have cable.

From a Canadian perspective, our relationship with the US would probably improve with Kerry in there. I realize most of it was our fault (thanks Jean), but where we go from here is what is important. I can't remember when things were ever this bad between Canada & the US (at least since the 19th Century). On the bright side, the freefalling American dollar has sure improved our crappy Canadian dollar. That said, I absolutely do care, no matter who wins. I also care about our elections, municipal, provincial or federal. And I have little respect for those who don't care. We are fortunate enough to have participatory governments. It seems that some people would rather go back to the days when we were ruled by tyrants. Even Pat Buchanan?

Me too. What the hell is Amber doing here? She's doing the exact same thing as last time. Attaching herself to someone and just doing whatever they tell her to. She's one of the worst Survivors ever.

Here is my big problem with RVD going to Smackdown (other than the fact I don't like him). I am under the impression that his contract expires this summer, and the last thing Smackdown needs is to have him around for a few months and then lose him. They would still end up with nothing in the long run. Unless he resigned or resigns, then I would be a lot more willing to accept it.
-
I knew it. Nobody would let him stay past the first Tribal Council he was at. He truly is the greatest Survivor of all time.
-
I never claimed it wasn't. I'm claiming more people have access to RAW than they do Smackdown. UPN is in more homes than Spike. Chris Jericho > RVD. He should go to Smackdown instead.

I don't really buy into this too much either, but it is a question mark. I just think that this one will come out in the Yankees favour. I don't see Brown or Leiber doing much though. Leiber's already hurt. If everything goes right, the Yankees win the World Series. If everything goes wrong, they finish behind a surging Toronto. Something in between is most likely, they make the playoffs but get knocked out before the World Series. Oswalt is better than Wood, but Miller isn't and that's what we are arguing because we have already established that Prior is better than Oswalt. So Chicago has a better #1 guy, and a better #2 guy. I might give you Clemens over Maddux, presuming he makes the jump to the NL okay, but not Pettite. Pettite's K rate is better than Maddux's these days, but his walk rate, ERA & WHIP are consistantly worse. Maddux may be getting older, but Pettite has to make the jump to the NL and to a park which isn't kind to leftys.
