Mr. Glass will be on the DL by May. I'm also not sure how well Vazquez will make the transition to New York. In theory, he is the best pitcher on the staff, but he could be another Jeff Weaver. Wood & Prior are better than anyone on the Astros staff, and Maddux is better than Pettite or Clemens, even these days. Pettite has always been overrated and inconsistant. The big problem, as I have said before, is the regular season. If the Cubs make the playoffs, then that is when they will be real tough to beat. Moreso than Houston or New York, or even Boston. People have too much faith in New York because of A-Rod being there, but they are still a weaker team now than they were before Boone got hurt (A-Rod does not equal Boone + Soriano, unless we are talking fantasy baseball) and nobody was picking them then. There are still numerous questions about their rotation (mainly health, not skill), Giambi is useless in the field and injury-prone, Bernie is done, Lofton is no longer an every day player, they've got nothing at 2B unless they make a trade, Sheffield & Giambi are a part of steroid allegations, Posada is getting older, and their bullpen blows aside from Quantrill & Rivera (add Gordon to the injury-in-waiting parade).

Total Recall deserves mentioning.

Todd was probably the most annoying of the guys who were actually employed, but I have to mention the trio of Alex Trebeck, Regis Philbin & Marla Maples from Wrestlemania VII. Those three really make watching that show a chore. Vince McMahon was also terrible.

Mike Tyson's Punch Out. All the others have been improved upon over the years (except Mario 3 which remains the peak of that series), but even today, there is no better boxing game than Punch Out. Even the SNES version wasn't as good.

Yeah. We all know that the Packers are going to win the NFC North easily.

City of San Francisco sues State of California
Kahran Ramsus replied to Jobber of the Week's topic in Current Events
That's another thing - if "civil union" will grant the same exact rights as a hetero marriage, then what is the point of an Amendment? Just to stop people from calling it a marriage? Yes. -

I don't even care if they call them marriages. I just want it made clear that state marriages are not the same thing as religious marriages. -
Easy. I don't consider that a match.

I concur.

City of San Francisco sues State of California

It was a rhetorical question, after all. I haven't heard of a politician that also supports that, at least not one that I've been eligible to vote for. Oh... Never mind then. -

Why would you care enough about the issue to vote based on it? Shouldn't something more important (like jobs) take precedence. -

Give it up. You've lost. Dr. Tom's decision is the final one, and one that any of us other mods would have made as well. You're just lucky that it was only two days.

Hogan/Earthquake & Hogan/Flair come to mind immediately. LOD/Demolition is another one that started a feud in the summer and continued through January when all of a sudden Power & Glory got moved over from their Hart Foundation feud and replaced Demolition in the Wrestlemania match.

Baseball is a fan-friendly sport, but Major League Baseball is the farthest thing from it, unless the fans enjoy being pissed on. I have never been less interested in MLB as I am right now. Remember how great things were from the mid-80s to the early 90s? These days the Yankees have made every WS save one since 1997. It is pathetic. The Blue Jays & Orioles are eliminated from post-season contention right now and the Grapefruit League hasn't even started yet. It isn't knowing that a team will not be competitive this year that drives away the fans. It is knowing that they won't be competitive next year, or in 5 years, or in 10 years, because the same five or six teams steal all of the good players. The Union is already complaining about the steroid issue, and they are so powerful these days you just know that nothing will be done even if it is proven that several stars are taking them. MLB also has the worst commish in history. Where is Landis to kick some ass when you need him. It is getting so that I almost want them to go on strike. It needs a hard cap. Nothing else will suffice, the situation has gotten so bad. I really want to watch it, I really do, but the lack of competitive balance is killing my interest before the season even begins. Until then I will watch AAA. The way baseball was meant to be played, and in MLB once was.
-
That doesn't happen now. I barely know who's on what team any more. At least with football I can be fairly certain that Brett Favre will retire a Packer. The true stars don't move much in the NFL, unless they refuse to give it up and teams no longer think it is worth keeping them (ex. Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice). For every Cal Ripken you have a Dan Marino who spends his entire career with one team. Free agency causes player movements, nothing else. You don't see the majority of guys spending their entire careers with one team in the NFL, NHL, NBA or MLB. The cap has little impact on player movement. What it does to is spread it out amoung more teams. Rather than the Yankees & Red Sox bidding for every player, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, etc can also be involved. MLB needs a hard cap to survive. Either that or severe contraction like in the CFL where you are down to about 8 teams. It is being killed in the majority of markets because of this horseshit and it gets worse every year.

You could have said the same thing in 1970s, before For Your Eyes Only, Licence to Kill & Goldeneye brought actual stories back into the series. Besides the early Connery ones, it is hard to tell when we are going to get a good Bond or not. Between two of the best Bonds, TSWLM & FYEO, we got Moonraker. The series could turn around with the next flick. Getting Clive Owen would be a step in the right direction.

Master & Commander was an amazing movie. I don't know if I would go so far as to say it is better than ROTK, but it is better than the first two LOTR movies.
-
Because they aren't just changing the actor, they are changing the character this time. Bond has been the same for 40 years. Even the Dalton version was pretty much the same guy.
-
Terrible idea. Bond is not some young kid.
