Bryan Singer In Talks To Direct X-Men 3
Kahran Ramsus replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
McKellan & Stewart have to stay. The main storyline of these films is the Xavier/Magneto conflict and their different approaches with how to deal with the human situation. It would really be awkward to recast them. Wolverine's story is done, it isn't really necessary to have him around anymore, and everyone else is relatively minor and can easily be either recasted or their characters dumped entirely. Sure I wouldn't be happy to see Stanford or Cumming go, but their characters are not vital. They can easily be replaced by Quicksilver and Beast respectively. Rogue did nothing in the last movie, and I would be happy if Berry leaves. I've seen her ruin Storm for two movies, and I have no desire to see it again. -
Big TD catch by Kennison and KC leads 21-17 with 1:19 left in the half.
-
Keep in mind that since Minny beat Seattle, there is now a good chance that both the Vikes & Pack make the playoffs. Holmes scores his second TD, 14-14.
-
Hall almost returns the kickoff, but gets pulled down from behind.
-
Portis scores and the Broncos go up 14-7.
-
Play of the day made by Harrison, and the Colts are routing the Titans.
-
Colts are stomping the Titans on the field but not on the scoreboard. 12-10 Colts at the half.
-
3-0 Titans

I think you will be very happy today.

That's why I prefer IX. Three of my favourite FF characters (Zidane, Vivi & Freya) are from that game and I didn't really hate anybody (maybe Eiko). IX didn't have the greatest story, but I cared about the characters in it. The art was the greatest of any final fantasy, and even the minor characters (Tantalus, Zorn & Thorn, Beatrix, etc.) stood out and gave you a reason to care about them. They weren't just a bunch of identical looking and sounding guys like in VIII. I like the Suikoden series for the same reason, although admittedly Suikoden has a better story than any of the Final Fantasy games, including VI. VI is still more fun to play though. In VIII, the only characters I even liked were Selphie and the jobber villains Biggs & Wedge. Squall was probably my second favourite of the main party, and I didn't like him at all. Zell, Quistis, Rinoa & Irvine were all extremely annoying. Quistis was the worst of the bunch. She would never, EVER shut up. I was happy when Squall brushed her off at the Garden Training Centre.

I'll take text over the terrible voice acting for characters like Tidus & Rikku.

Ramza Beoulve was a good character. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): He was a lot like Tom Cruise's character in Last Samurai. He starts off with the Hokuten fighting against the Death Corps, but then he begins to grow attached to their ideals thanks to Wiegraf Folles, and after his brother orders the murder of his best friend's sister, he turns against them and begins fighting for what were his opponents, and eventually gives his life (arguably) going up against the Church. Granted he seems a little weak compared to Delita Hyral, one of the best villains in RPG history, but he was a good hero. The best thing was that he was never a whiner. He did want to do the right thing. The only whining hero I liked was Fei Fong Wong from Xenogears. And that's because unlike the others, it wasn't just angst. He really was screwed up so much since birth that you couldn't help feeling sympathy for him.

Edea is the main enemy for the first part of FFVIII, not Seifer. He is just her henchman. Also, Leon is the main villain in FFII for a brief little while before the Undead Emperor shows up. Yu Yevon ends up being the main enemy in FFX. Necron is the final boss in FFIX, but he was never the main villain. You just fight him afterwards. It happens in some Bond films too, that he has stuff to do after killing the main villain (ex. Spy Who Loved Me). Garland has importance too, but Kuja was clearly the main guy.

X is pretty bad too in terms of characters and plot, but the actual fighting is probably the best in the series. Not only does VIII's story suck, but the GF/Draw System is terrible. FFX is at least fun to play even if Tidus is the most annoying character this side of Raiden.

No way, you need a good ending to have a satisfying RPG. FF9 combined the worst final boss ever with the most ridiculously syrupy, vomit enducing ending ever. It left such a bad final impression that it just killed the overall experience. The final bosses in IV, VIII & X were just as bad. At least in IX there is no mistaking that Kuja is the real villain, even you don't fight him last.

Ultimecia was talked about well in advance of the end, it is just that she didn't do anything before then and you never saw her. For overall villains, the worst is Seifer Almasy. He gets built up as this big adversary to Squall, and he's just a henchman. His entire motivation is that he wants to be a lacky of Ultimecia, and he just dumps that the moment Fujin & Raijin ask him to stop. Not to mention he is a complete pushover. FFVIII was terrible. Fortunately, FFIX was the second best in the series.

How does that affect the ending?

Austin/Bret from Survivor Series was better than this match.
-
Neither did anyone with any common sense.

You don't need Sabin. People always assume you do because you get him first after Celes, but you can head straight for Nikeah and Edgar if you want. Setzer, Edgar & Celes are the only guys who are forced in your party in the WOR.

Point Blank and its sequels.

Nah, Benoit just got done feuding with him. If it was Big Show, I could see it happening.
-
I do. 1999 was arguably the worst year in WWF history creatively.

The worst decisions are HHH beating Booker at Mania, Big Show beating Guerrero, Bashams stealing the WGTT's spot, and Jericho's 5 minute IC Title reign (I hate reigns like that).
