Another call goes against the Pats.
-
No. The Pats and official were arguing over which side of the coin was tails.

Messup over the toss. Miami wins it.

Faulk gets clobbered for a huge loss. We might be headed to OT in Miami.

FG blocked by New England with 2 minutes left.

I really thought Mystique was going to stay dead this time. Why did Apoc pick Mystique anyways? She isn't nearly as powerful as someone like Juggernaut, Legion or Scarlet Witch.

I'm sad, but not shocked, at least not the way I was when Hennig died. The wrestling industry is looking worse by the day. The wrestlers of the 60s & 70s should be dying off now, but when guys who were stars in the 80s, and are just in their 40s start dropping, it is very sad. My only hope is that this current generation learns something from this.

The Fish are doing a great job of stripping the ball.

VERY interesting report on who draw viewers in WWE

Also, here is more proof that even with the McMahon's, Smackdown is better than RAW. For the Smackdown guys, the amount drawn is generally in proportion with their position on the card. On RAW, this is all over the place with pseudo-maineventers like Randy Orton, Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels not drawing well, and the midcarders that they are pushing (Test, Mack, Maven) doing terrible. Meanwhile, Christian & Jericho are drawing despite being treated like jobbers every week. -

I still don't think Angle and Brock were portrayed as the main eventers. It's not fair to them to blame them when the central angle on the show and ALL the advertising dollars market the McMahon match on the same PPV. It's as if they're a second-tier main event; the real wrestling main event, but not the one with any promotion. Jason Good point. -

Angle's a main eventer, so he should draw. Benoit & Eddy were midcarders for most of this period, so they are the guys who should be getting pushed. The current main eventers aren't drawing buyrates (although I still think Angle & Brock have potential, just with better opponents), so Eddy & Benoit are the guys that should be next on the list to try. -

TV ratings generally reflect who is pushed. There are exceptions who guys who people just aren't interested in at all, or those that they are but aren't pushed, but you will find that they tend to follow that trend. PPV Buyrates and House Show attendance is where you really see the 'Main Event' Effect. It has been shown over and over again that people predominantly order PPVs for the advertised main event. If buyrates are lousy, then it means people aren't willing to pay to see the main eventers and that is a major problem. There are more variables involved in ratings, because people can just watch certain things and then turn it off. For a PPV, they need to make a commitment and the main eventers can't draw them in, its time to get new main eventers. You get those from the guys who draw viewers, but aren't getting pushes. On Smackdown Benoit, Haas, Benjamin & Guerrero are the best bets. On RAW they should push Jericho & Kane. Now granted, this is before Shane killed Kane's drawing power so these numbers aren't exactly up to date, but its better than nothing. As for who not to push. Smackdown is pretty much okay, aside from the true jobbers like Shannon Moore (since Rikishi is now gone). RAW has a much bigger problem. They should avoid Mack (and Henry by association), Test, La Resistance, Orton (who's numbers are extremely low for someone who has been out there with Flair & HHH all the time), Maven, Rosey, Cade, Jindrak and apparently Booker T. -
Man, 1 for 4 isn't good.

Before anyone gets confused, I should point out that this has to do with the total viewership, not the rating number. At least now I hope people will listen to me when I tell them UPN is in more homes than TNN. -
I like Boom-Boom. There are worse characters (Spyke, Multiple, Magma).

No. Both the movie and novel are about jury tampering. The reason for the trial is not important.

I don't want Bobby to come back. He deserves better.
-
He wasn't at X so why not? Although Vince will probably bring him back anyways.
-
Tell me that after Florida drops four straight.

Yes, I agree that it would be nice if teams could resign their own players, but the problem occurs when the Yanks go after virtually every big name free agent out there. That is what needs to stop. Oakland has as much right to keep their own players as the Yanks. Free Agency can't be abolished, so it is something that simply must be done for the greater good. Competitive balance must be restored. It still isn't near the level of 10 years ago.

This postseason is akin to Wrestlemania XIII. Sure you get Bret/Austin in the undercard, but it isn't much consolation when the main event is Sid/Taker.
-
except that they don't have as much money? Don't forget the dead Canadian dollar.
-
Well, let's see. Arizona & Florida don't count because those championships were bought, and the Angels are owned by Disney, so they probably shouldn't count either. I will go with 0.

Ok. Some of us hate the idea of a cap, and some of us hate the current condition of the game. Let's make a compromise. A lifelong ban of George Steinbrenner from Major League Baseball.
