All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft
Kahran Ramsus replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
There we go. That's the guy I was talking about earlier. He was a top star for over a decade in more than one company. In his prime in the late 80s he was a very good worker as well and he can play both heel and face. -
LT was the fourth guy I was looking at that I mentioned earlier. Nice pick. I know who I'd like to have with my next pick and in a 12 team draft I probably could have gotten him. I don't see it happening in a 20 team, but you never know.

I lost out on Jim Brown, but fortunately for me there is another top running back available who many say is an even more complete back than Brown and a fantastic leader. He's the guy who broke most of Jim Brown's rushing records and an incredibly 'sweet' building block for a championship team. RB Walter Payton Career Stats Rushing Yards 16,726 Average 4.4 Touchdowns 110 Stats at NFL.com Career Highlights and Awards * 9x Pro Bowl selection (1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986) * 9x All-Pro selection (1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986) * 1977 NFL MVP * 1977 PFWA NFL MVP * 1977 NEA NFL MVP * 1985 UPI NFC Player of the Year * 1977 UPI NFC Player of the Year * 1977 Bert Bell Award * 1978 Pro Bowl MVP * Super Bowl XX Champion I would have taken Rice had been available even though I firmly believe that the best teams build around a strong runner. Payton was simply too good to pass up at this spot, even though it kills me inside to take a Chicago Bear with my first pick. Now with three of my top four picks that I mentioned earlier going in order, I'm curious when #4 goes.
-
And there goes my #1 as well. Congratulations for making the right choice Vic.
-
Yes! I desperately want one of four guys and the third pick guarantees it.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft
Kahran Ramsus replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
Don't worry. I will, because the guy I was thinking of before is still there. My top tag team left on the board may not even be drafted, because both guys have had other partners (which isn't a spoiler since that could describe pretty much every team that ever existed). -

Not by a long shot. There are plenty of top teams left. -
I really don't want to go over 20. I prefer the 2 drafts of 12 teams approach that Gert T proposed.

Me too and Orton wasn't him. -
Is that the draft order?
-
Those players should be available, but don't be surprised if some people question the picks based on the reasoning stated. But if someone feels that they are the player they want, by all means they should be allowed to take them.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

I've got at least two I'm waiting on. With so many people thinking the same thing, I'm wonder if we happen to be thinking of the same guys. -
VX said that wouldn't be allowed. Like you can't draft the 93 Cowboys after someone takes the 92 Cowboys. And then you run into the problem with what defines an era. This is another option with a lot of problems, and leaves out a lot of good players.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

I would have had Windham ranked high as well, maybe even in the second round. Fantastic pick at that stage. There are a couple of guys that I would also consider steals at this point, but I'm honestly not surprised as to how far they have dropped. -
I'm against the O-Line idea because we might end up with a situation where a dynasty could see the same basic line get drafted 3 or 4 times, which is pretty silly. It just brings up a whole lot of issues that I think will complicate things too much. I'm still in regardless of the decision though.

Because we are choosing coaches, what do we with the ones who had successful playing careers? Take Ditka for example, do we count him as a TE, a Head Coach or both?
-
I want in.

Good idea. Although like I said, I personally wouldn't have done it anyways. -

I know it is has been said before, but damn I wish I discovered this thread sooner. There are still some potential main event players available in the third round and I am quite surprised that 2 or 3 of them haven't gone yet. I won't mention who, because I'm curious where they end up. -
I think the main problem is what was discussed in other threads here. Namely that The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe is a well-known children's classic that is required reading in many schools (it certainly was in mine) and Prince Caspian is not. Also the lack of a name cast hurt as well. I know that the likes of Tilda Swinton, James McAvoy, Liam Neeson & Jim Broadbent are not big names, but at least people recognize them. Of those only Neeson returns in any significant role and while he was all over the advertising last time, you barely saw Aslan in the marketing of this film.

Phantasm was the one I forgot. You're absolutely right.
-
Actually there are six.

The interest in Dark Knight far exceeds that of Batman Begins. There was a lot of scepticism at the time for another Batman film, but those that saw it gave it rave reviews. I fully expect it will be one of those sequels in which it completely out performs the original. It is more of a question mark than a month ago, but I still see it outgrossing Iron Man as well. Neither will make as much as Indiana Jones.

Let's Talk About...Vince Russo's first stint booking WCW
Kahran Ramsus replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
In a way it was worse than than the Sullivan Saga afterwards. Don't get me wrong, Sullivan was a terrible booker too, but he was handicapped by having the roster absolutely gutted in January. The World Champion would never wrestle again and the next one immediately bolted for the competition upon winning the title along with the heart of the roster from a workrate perspective. Jarrett, the US Champion, was injured at the time. Goldberg who was still WCW's biggest star had a career threatening injury of his own. With those kind of handicaps Sullivan had no chance, even if he had been decent booker. Russo on the other hand had all those guys and still stunk.
