It would be hilarious if somehow the Patriots ended up with the #1 pick. Poor, poor Niner fans.
-
Didn't Belichick already break that one?
-
Miami does their job to keep the dream alive at least.

Cleveland is hardly a surprise. At Pittsburgh, of course it's a surprise. Its a surprise, but not that big of one. The big surprise to me is Ryan Grant running over the Vikings while Peterson isn't doing much of anything.

The Patriots aren't even halfway to 19-0. Why do we always talk about a team going undefeated so early? And what is the point of going 16-0 if they just get beat in the playoffs?
-
For Houston? No. In the California area... yeah. Understood.
-
So I gather the Raiders game didn't end up getting blacked out?
-
Looks like I won no matter what happens in the late games. I'm not sure why the Bengals were ever favoured over Buffalo.

He did it against the Broncos in 2000. Jamal Lewis rushed for 295 against Cleveland in 2003, but somehow I forgot about this and still had Dillon as the record holder in my head Maybe a certain nameless poster has caused me to purge all memories of that team I only remember because he was on my fantasy team that year.

Brett Favre has now beaten every team in the league.

Hell no. I'd rather have Bruce than Lincecum. Just curious why I post a new thread about the A-Rod news that just broke a few hours ago and within minutes some thread-Nazi locks it. Is it because I'm supposed to post in this thread? I didn't close it, but we already have a thread regarding Rodriguez opting out of his contract. I closed it, and it was for this reason. We already have a thread that is specifically about A-Rod opting out of his contract.

Honestly, I'm not surprised at all about this and like others said it makes his relationship with Grindelwald make a lot more sense.

I'm pretty sure someone once did when his team was playing the Ravens. I've picked a zero before. I think it was at the beginning of last year when Roethlisberger was doing his best Rex Grossman impersonation.

I can agree with that. But will management be patient enough or will they get held back in favour of more high-priced starters who began their careers during the Coolidge administration?

NFL Week 7: You Mean There's A Football Team In Denver?
Kahran Ramsus replied to CanadianChris's topic in Sports
I felt that way in the KKKBowl here. New England should win easily, but a 20 point spread is ridiculous. I also have the Colts losing outright. They got massacred here last year and almost always struggle with Jacksonville in recent years. Just a poor matchup for them coming off the bye. -
The problem with this line of thinking is that there is only one championship, and 30 teams fighting for it. Forget the $200 million payroll. It's not Joe Torre's job to assemble the team. All he can do is make a run with the roster he's given. The Yankees have not been more talented than all the other American League teams, so it's silly to outright expect them to win. There are good teams in the postseason, teams built to beat the Yankees. Thats understandable, but I can easily say that the Yankees shouldn't have lost in the 2003 World Series and blown a 3-0 lead against the Red Sox the next year. We all have to understand that their is alot of scrutiny when you are paid that much and have a payroll that high. It is either win or go home and that is what happened. On the Yankees you are being paid to win championships and anything less is a failure. So basically what you are saying is that the Yankees are looking for a scapegoat rather than trying to solve the real problem. I think most of us can agree on that. The problem is when the blame starts going to people who actually are tremendous assets to the team (ex. A-Rod) and by looking to can someone everytime they lose they make the team worse in the process. See most of the 80s and the early 90s for plenty of examples of this. This same line of thinking has doomed the Redskins to mediocrity in the NFL for the past decade. Looking for somebody to blame only hurts the team unless they actually ARE to blame.

It's a 33% pay cut. That's still a slap in the face, no matter what everyone else is making. And especially so considering the Yankees were pretty much left for dead in May and still made the playoffs. He has to get some of the credit for that. Exactly. If my salary was cut by a third, I'd be mighty pissed.

That's what I always interpreted it as. Not too suprising given the lack of success the expansion teams have had. The most successful are probably New York in the NL and Toronto in the AL. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a single expansion team that has more than two World Titles. Meanwhile, I believe each of the original 16 have at least one, with the Phillies being the last to win.
-
The expansion Bucs lost their first 26 games, so they wouldn't be the first team to go winless since the merge.
