The new AFI Top 100, coming June 20th on CBS

In fact, I seem to remember that line being on the Top 100 Quotes list a couple of years back. -
The new AFI Top 100, coming June 20th on CBS
Kahran Ramsus replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
On previous specials they gave away the ending to pretty much every movie. In general, the list was pretty much as expected. My biggest surprises were Dr. Zhivago dropping off the list completely, City Lights going up to #11, Raging Bull knocking Gone With The Wind out of the Top 5, and On the Waterfront dropping out of the Top 10. Lawrence of Arabia remains my favourite movie, but I won't argue with Citizen Kane being #1 again. -
I've never seen that film, but I thought it was supposed to be a different character and not Selina Kyle.

OAO Monday Night Raw Thread- June 11, 2007
Kahran Ramsus replied to RonL21's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, I'm going from watching Smackdown only to watching nothing now. The booking is so terrible on RAW that they could get Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Ric Flair & The Rock all their primes and it would still stink, and Smackdown where the writing actually does make sense now has to make due with some of the worst talent in wrestling history (and Edge). A complete disaster tonight. -
Maybe if 15-20 if we are going all-time. We should keep it North America only though, otherwise we will be alienating a large portion of the posters who have never seen/heard of many of the guys drafted.

John Cena Triple H Samoa Joe Ken Kennedy Shawn Michaels I decided to go with a roster that covers all my basis (top face, top heel, young star with limitless potential, fading legend, etc.) that I personally think would mesh well together as well as something that is feasible to get together. There are some injury concerns here, but aside from Cena (who is a nobrainer to have on this list) there isn't much likelyhood of one of them bolting for another career. The top four I definitely would want in my promotion. Michaels is the wildcard, as I could have gone with somebody like Chris Benoit or Undertaker who would have filled the same general role. Michaels has a history with HHH though and he's more capable of fulfilling several roles than the other vets. If JBL was healthy I would have gone with him.

WWE General Discussion for June 2007
Kahran Ramsus replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I've seen the poster itself. It is absolutely legit. -
No. The problem is that people still think that the kids are supposed to be the same age in every film, ala James Bond or virtually any other film series, which obviously isn't true. It is particularly ridiculous with Emma Watson, who until the most recent film was younger than her character.

It doesn't matter who they add, since the problem with ECW & RAW is on the creative end. So Smackdown is made a lot weaker by virtue of losing talent and the other shows aren't improved any because the talent being moved it just going to be wasted. The same thing happens everytime they do this.
-
Funny you mention Henry because he would actually be a good choice to go to RAW and one that would make a lot more sense than Kennedy.
-
My thoughts are basically that there are some guys on Smackdown that don't really fit in with the roster and aren't doing a whole lot, like Kane & Matt Hardy. So therefore they will move mainstays of the brand like Benoit & Finlay who will completely flounder on their new show.

EDIT: I was beaten to it.

Easily. Although admittedly I also preferred the second to the first. Of the three big summer blockbusters thus far (POTC, Shrek & SM3) this is easily the best one.

Considering the age of the team and the promise they showed last year, overall Green Bay is probably going to be getting better over the next few seasons rather than worse. They made significant strides late last year on both defense and along the offensive line, and that's where you start successfully rebuilding a team. They are definitely better than Detroit, and probably better than Minnesota too. Favre's now going to camp by the way, according to Adam Schefter. http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/10184868

That sounds like they were pushing for a PG-13 rating, which is the completely wrong direction to go in.

Personally, I never saw a problem with the Smackdown threads.

Why Snitsky vignette's are airing on Raw
Kahran Ramsus replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I thought so too. I've definitely seen them and I haven't watched RAW in weeks. -
Everybody's getting too worked up over the term burial. Regardless of what you think warrants a true burial or not, the point of cabbageboy's post is that Smackdown is making better use of its roster than the other two brands, which quite frankly I agree with and think has been true for some time.

I don't see what the problem is when Magneto, arguably the best comic book supervillain in film, was played by real gay guy.

5 Worst Intercontinental Champions

Rock's second of two title reigns in 2000 was decent. -
5 Worst Intercontinental Champions
Kahran Ramsus replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
1. Chyna - This was just a joke and the sad thing is that it really hurt Jericho who was red hot at the time. To make things even worse, she got ANOTHER useless title reign later on in 2000. 2. Test - I forget how many times he actually had it, but it displayed one of the major problems with the whole Invasion. Titles that would change hands every week. It happened with almost every belt, including both world titles (Jericho & Angle had reigns that didn't last even a month). What makes Test so bad though, is it is an example of an even bigger problem of the Invasion, namely midcard losers from the WWF getting pushed over ECW/WCW that were far more over and more valuable. 3. The Godfather - This came during early 1999 which was probably the worst period in the history of the title overall other than the time it was merged with the World Heavyweight Title, with the title switching every couple of weeks. This one was the worst because like Test, Godfather was an opening card act who had no business being near the title. 4. Road Dogg - This one is a little different in that Road Dogg actually was over enough to the hold the belt. The only problem is that he won it completely out of the blue after months of targetting the Hardcore title and his partner going after this one. Although he wasn't very talented, he probably wouldn't have been that bad a champion for a short period, except the booking was completely idiotic and the reign didn't make any sense at all. 5. Billy Gunn - At a time of several other worthwhile contenders challenging for the belt (Eddy Guerrero, Chris Jericho & Chris Benoit among them) they put the title on arguably the worst wrestler in the promotion two years after he last meant anything. It was a complete farce watching him go over guys who even the markiest of the marks knew could kick his ass back to the Hadean. Fortunately they wised up before too long and had Benoit destroy him along with his WWF career (he'd never be taken seriously again) at Armageddon 2000. I wouldn't put Umaga as one of the five worst, because even though it was a terrible run for the title, it did serve a purpose. Him winning the belt was designed to make him look stronger for the heavily hyped Trump match at Mania, and while it may have only been partially successful there was at least a logical reason behind it, unlike most of the above. -
Mr. Kennedy Severely Injures His Triceps
Kahran Ramsus replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm inclined to agree. Kennedy is certainly the first young star in a long time that I've taken a real interest in. -
Daredevil, especially the Director's Cut, is one of my favourite comic book movies.
