What Smackdown needs is better advertising from the company to make it seem like a show worth watching and to stay the course with regards to the direction of the product. It takes a long time to turn a ship around and if Smackdown continues being a quality show than the fans will eventually come around. Quick fixes usually do more damage than good, especially if it means that Vince takes a more hands-on (ie. more SE, less wrestling) approach to the show.

Thanks. It was listed under a fantasy football header so I never noticed it.

What I find most amazing is that with all the stuff he dealt with, he gets killed doing something about as dangerous as walking down the stairs. First time I've ever heard of anybody getting killed by a stingray. It would have been a lot less shocking if he got mauled by a tiger shark or something. Either way, I spent pretty much every weeknight watching him when I was in school and this is certainly a sad day.

JBL will probably be bashing it before too long.

I agree with most of you. Normally I can't stand Miz, but he actually did quite well there as a chickenshit heel.

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Owen Hart at Summerslam 1997.

Offensive Rookie: DeAngelo Williams. Foster is always injured and he's on a great team that has a history of producing high-scoring RBs. Mike Bell might get it, but I'm not confident that he will have the job long enough. Defensive Rookie: AJ Hawk. I agree with AoO. He's behind a crappy line in a crappy division and will thus have the most oppurtunity to make tackles out of the rookies.

Lord of the Rings Trilogy- Special Edition
Kahran Ramsus replied to Anakin Flair's topic in Television & Film
Frodo pushed him and fell himself. Sam pulled Frodo up from the ledge and they took off. In the book Gollum gets the Ring and is so overjoyed that he falls off the cliff himself. Tolkien was trying to make a point how the outcome was determined by an Act of God, but it never would have worked on film. -
I couldn't agree more. JBL seems to be the only announcer in the company that really understands this. Either that or he's the only one who just ignores what he's instructed to say.

It was 1998, and Goldberg wasn't in the match. Actually the winner of the match was going to get a Title Shot at Goldberg at Halloween Havoc, which is why DDP is fighting him there. "Goldberg" wrestled Chris Jericho at Fall Brawl, but that's as close as we got.

The Evaluate Each Other's Fantasy Team Thread
Kahran Ramsus replied to MrRant's topic in Fantasy Sports
Thanks. Any word on whether he is going to play or not? I've seen conflicting reports. My biggest question about a trade is what are the current values of some of the RBs now. At the time of the draft I had everything figured out, but with Parker being the goalline back, Dunn now the guy in Atlanta, and Dominic Davis possibly ending up on IR, what kind of guys should I target with one of my WRs? Or should I just see what people are offering and go from there? PS: I'm worried about Jackson's injury too. -

8 Team Head to Head. 6 Pts Per TD (Run, Pass, Reception, Defensive Return). 1 Pt 20 Yards Rushing/Recieving. 1 Pt 40 Yards Passing. I drafted 5th. The only guy I remember Hogan truly putting over is Yokozuna. Yoko basically crushed him at KOTR 93 (despite a cheap finish). Hogan couldn't slam him. He kicked out of the legdrop. He beat Hogan with Hogan's own finisher. He then destroyed Hogan afterwards, and basically kicked him out of the company starting off the longest heel title reign in the WWF since Billy Graham.

They could. I'm not so sure that they would.

If my memory is correct, I believe Branch has to be playing after Week 10 in order to become an UFA next year.

The only thing I can think of is that he refused to go to rehab. Otherwise, I have trouble believing that they would have fired him as out-of-the-blue as they have. I know he's had problems, but nothing seemed to indicate that WWE was this concerned.
-
I have to wonder if they gave Angle an option to go to rehab and he refused, like with Jeff Hardy, considering how long it took them to fire guys like Eddy Guerrero who had similar problems.
-
Personally, I think Vince is foolish for even bringing Hogan back over and over again with his past history. At this point he either doesn't care or he probably can't remember how to tie his shoes either.

Most underrated Summerslam matches of all time
Kahran Ramsus replied to slabinskia's topic in The WWE Folder
I find quite a few of the tag matches from the early Summerslams, most notably Bulldogs/Rougeaus, Busters/Harts & Rougeaus&Martel/Rockers&Santana, to be a lot better than people give them credit for. The 6-Man from Summerslam 93 probably fits in here as well. It seems that Summerslam has a lot more underrated matches overall than Wrestlemania does. -

And it sucked. There is no need for this one. -
What would it take for another boom period in wrestling to happen?
Kahran Ramsus replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
Are we talking about business success or the quality of the product? Because the two aren't necessarily the same. -
Jeff Hardy was a mess in WWE. TNA has a much lighter schedule and he couldn't even cope with that without screwing up so badly that the person with the most power in the company gave up trying to save the guy's job. For WWE to hire Hardy back when he has shown no sign of being able to handle any kind of a schedule is reckless and encourages Jeff to stay on the substances that have killed his career. Exactly. It isn't as if Hardy disappeared as soon as he was fired from WWE.

Most underrated Wrestlemania matches of all time?..
Kahran Ramsus replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
Brainbusters vs. Strike Force from Wrestlemania V. I don't consider matches like Angle/HBK, Bret/Piper & Flair/Savage underrated. Those are great matches and generally considered to be such. -
Looks like Koren Robinson is going to get a nice year-long vacation after getting arrested for a DUI.
