Except that it has gotten Eddy the most over he's been since April of last year. There are two ways they should go here, which probably means they won't, but still, Batista is the biggest star in the company right now and it would be nice if they didn't ruin his image by panicking and forcing him to do a quick job. 1) If he's only going to be out for a handful of weeks, do nothing. Just leave the title on Batista. 2) If he has to miss significant time, strip him of the title due to injury (of course, Batista would be willing to fight, but Long would refuse to let him wrestle without clearance ala Austin 97). Give it to Orton in a tournament, have Batista return later having never been defeated, he gets the title shot (by winning the Rumble for the second year in a row if he's healthy by that point) and then go on to crush Orton at Mania. Then WWE gets the match they seem to want (Batista/Orton), the proper result (a Batista win), and Batista won't lose any heat for taking a quick loss in the ring. You can replace Orton in the feud with practically anybody, but we all know that's probably who they would use.

Yes, not the PS2. The other night when trying to play GameCube, I got the dreaded Disc Read Error which haunts PS2 owners when they go to bed at night. Now I tried cleaning the lens and blowing dust out of the system, but it still doesn't work. What tends to happen is that no games will work and then after 15-20 minutes it will start reading the disks and I can play anything I want for as long as I want. It is on a flat surface and in a wide-open space. This certainly seems like strange behaviour to me, and is completely different from the usual overheating problems that you see many GameCube owners get. Any help on trying to figure this out will be greatly appreciated.

Poll: Your favorite Final Fantasy
Kahran Ramsus replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in Video Games
It has to be VI. The World of Ruin is a thing of beauty. Without a guide it becomes quite difficult to get everything there. My only really problem with the game is that by the time you get through it, and fight through that big tower at the end which takes a long time, you get to Kefka and he's one of the easiest final bosses in RPG history. The Atma Weapon/Illumina/Offering/Genji Glove combo will often kill him in one shot. The best music of any of the games is in this one as well. My rankings...I never played III. 1) VI 2) IX. I still think that coming out the same year as the PS2 killed interest in it. Even if I'm overrating it here, it is easily the most fun of the PS1 games. You actually get 4 people in your party! 3) V. Best job system in any Final Fantasy. 4) VII. Great in spots, but the middle part of the game is really boring. From the Midgar escape to Aeris's death it is just wandering from one town to the next, usually to just find out that Sephiroth just left and you have to go to the next town. It can get quite repetitive. Also the materia system is pretty poor (characters only differ from limit breaks) and the three person party is too restrictive. Still I liked the story and it was fun for much of the game. 5) IV. Doesn't hold up as well as it used to, but the five person parties are nice. There just isn't enough here. On the bright side, this might be the hardest of the games. 6) I. I love the customization here at the beginning, and how no playthrough is the same depending on what classes you pick. On the downside it is very short and there is no story to speak of. 7) X. Home of the most annoying characters and the dumbest plot (rather than no plot as in I) in the series. I am amazed that some people praise this game while ripping on the Metal Gear games, because they are similar in that there is good gameplay (the actual battle system here is probably the best in the series) but it takes two hours of cutscenes to get there. At least in Metal Gear the voice acting is leagues better, and you can SKIP THE CUTSCENES. Here I was forced to watch every last annoying cutscene between Tidus & Yuna. I beat it once and then just played Blitzball from then on. At least that wasn't frustrating. 8) II. I found this game strange. In theory, I didn't mind the job system, but it didn't handle very well at all for two reasons. First, black magic was almost completely useless. Second, the first part of the game is very difficult as your underleveled characters get killed time after time by regular enemies, while by the time they get to the end of the game (without even spending time to go out and level outside of the storyline) they are practically gods that kill every powerful boss in no time flat with just their weapons. A nice idea, but the game just seems broken. Nice music though, especially for an NES game. 9) VIII. Speaking of broken systems... The draw system kills this game. You spend hours (as opposed to just spending a night at the Inn) drawing out these magical spells only to find out that you shouldn't even use them, because they are better being junctioned to your characters. It is just so tedious. The GFs aren't much better, as you can blow through literally 99% of the game just by summoning them over and over and seeing the same ten minute animation of them being summoned. Only the final boss resembles anything close to a challenge, and there you just use Aura and use your god-like limit breaks on her over and over again, despite being at full MP. This is game is far and away the easiest game in the series. I died more times in fucking Mystic Quest. So with the game itself so bad, it is left for the story to carry it, and we get one of the most hated stories in the series here (although I still think X is worse). A complete misfire. Since some of you are including Tactics, I would put it at number two on the list. If it was easier to level (the random encounter rate is a bit off, so that sometimes you get attacked every step, and other times you can go across the entire map without getting attacked once), and the English translation was better, I might even put it above VI. -
It was okay, but not nearly as fun as the first two.

I have no problem with stupid aliens getting killed by our atmosphere. But aliens like the ones in War of the Worlds that clearly know a lot about Earth's biology should know better. And if they are highly alergic to bacteria, shouldn't they have been killed off when they got the machines here in the first place? Mars Attacks makes more sense than that movie.
-
I know. I used to play both those games to death when I was younger. I spent weeks trying to get that stupid Leviathan seacraft.

Kane was very over right after he got unmasked and had to be brought to the ring with security and a straight-jacket. Then the Shane thing ruined him.

All this talk of X-Com is motivating me to go and install it on my computer again. Its been awhile since I've played it.

To correct what I said earlier. Tomlinson is MVP, not Alexander. I didn't realize that there was a such a big difference in their recieving yardage. Alexander has been the best rusher this year, but Tomlinson has better numbers than him from scrimmage, 1 more TD and those three passes for TDs.
-
I'd like to see an Owens/Trotter fight.
-
No one wants to see them in the ring. I like seeing them if it is just for special appearances or Hall of Fame stuff or something like that.

FFVII is a good game alright. I'd probably put it in the middle of the pack as far as Final Fantasy games go, or even higher if I'm feeling generous. But it isn't the undisputed best game ever like some people seem to think it is. No. I don't let that factor into it at all.

If Lesnar's coming back it is to fight Batista. But you're right about the lack of faces on RAW. The only face that I can think that would work at that level right away is Shawn Michaels. Kane could work if booked properly, but they've been burying him for years. Why would they stop now? Big Show is nothing more than a temporary solution, and he makes a better heel anyways. Shelton could have done it 6 months ago, but he's being jobbed out now. Whatever heel wins the belt is going to have nobody to feud with. Once the inevitable Michaels match is done, they'll be stuck defending against the likes of Ric Flair and...I was going to list a second guy but I can't think of any. Eugene? Viscera? Angle, HHH & Edge are terrible faces. I can't even picture them bringing Hogan or Austin in, because they'd want to win the belt. The RAW roster isn't just thin, its anorexic.

People pay attention to these movies?
-
Shaun Alexander LT Carson Palmer Steve Smith Edgerrin James Those are probably the main contenders, although for the actual award it is hard to argue against Alexander at this point.
-
Nor the best Final Fantasy game ever.
-
How come they can use the old logo?
-
Putting it back on HHH is definitely not the way to go here. Even if Cena wasn't struggling, that would have been a terrible move.
-
How does Trip lose a big match to an old man and go up?
-
If this behaviour affected the way he played on the field it would make more sense. As it is, I think the Eagles just have to suck it up for awhile. Maybe McNabb should go on TV and bitch about him if he's worried about losing support of the team, but that's about it. Philly still has a shot at the playoffs, so I can't see this being a good move for them.

We mean crappy 1996 Boyhood Dream HBK.

Not really. This is the best season of his entire career in terms of completion percentage, his current season high is 65.4 in 2003. He's always thrown lots of interceptions. The most interceptions he's had in a year was 24, way back in 1993. He's never thrown for under 13 in a year with Green Bay. Back in the late 90s he was throwing for 20+ Ints a year. He's liable to hit that this year again, but other than this year, he's only thrown for 20+ once since 1999. He still throws for 30+ TDs more often than not. This is far from his worst season at the half-way point, that still belongs to either 1993 or 1999. The one part of his game that has fallen off as he's gotten older is that he no longer runs. He used to be good near 200+ yards and a couple of TDs rushing a year in his prime. Of course, when he was doing that he was also eating a lot more sacks too.
-
And? He's done that for years.

I see it linked more with Shawn Michaels. Both got over as these rebel characters then got completely watered down as faces right before it was time to start their world title programs. By November, both were being booed quite heavily. Just look at Shawn Michaels at Survivor Series 1996 and how eerily similar it is to John Cena now. Diesel is different in that he never should have been champion in the first place. You'd probably be able to make a better comparison between him and JBL. Even though I like JBL and didn't like Diesel, I'm not so blind as to not have noticed that he had a Diesel-like effect on buyrates and ratings. Quick question: Remember last year at the Royal Rumble when the crowd was cheering for Cena over Batista? If they are in the ring today, does anybody think that the crowd would respond in the same way?
-
Favre's numbers this year are very close to his career average, and his completion percentage is up 5 points. And he's doing it on a team with no running game, a bad offensive line and missing his top WR. He's hardly washed up. Now Daunte Culpepper, that's a bad season.
