I thought it was pretty shocking when Rick Rude won the IC Title at Wrestlemania V. Warrior was just on fire at that point and was destroying everybody.

Is Rock even with the company anymore? I thought they let his contract expire. At least Austin shows up now and then. Rock hasn't been there for over a year.

I mean in the present, when they have won three Super Bowls in the past four years. Likewise, if Green Bay does this in the 60s, nobody bats an eye. They do it in the 80s, then there is a problem.

1) Better World Champion? Batista. Cena is really missing JBL to play off of. Neither was the greatest wrestler, but their characters played off each other very well. Batista is the more interesting character right now by a mile, although he isn't the greatest in-ring wrestler either. 2) Who do you like more in general? Kurt Angle. Kurt is the better wrestler and the better entertainer, but he's been buried since Wrestlemania starting with the Sharmell angle. Taker's been used much more effectively than Angle, but since this is about your favourite, the answer is Kurt. 3) Better on the mike to you? Eddie Guerrero. Not even close, and that's without Lita dragging Edge's career down. 4) Better In Ring Wrestler? Chris Benoit. Best North American wrestler of the last decade, possibly ever. 5) More Entertaining? JBL. Trip is good enough, but he doesn't really stand out. He's just sort of there most of the time, and his promos in particular are sleep inducing. JBL's promos are often the best part of Smackdown, and I find him to be the most entertaining wrestler on the roster. He's even grown as a wrestler in the past year, which is remarkable at his age. 6) Better Tag Teams? Legion Of Doom(2005). Murdoch & Cade are probably better wrestlers (how could they not be), but where are they? LOD is being used and is over for some reason, so the answer is them. 7) Who do you favor more? The Rock. Make no mistake about it, Austin was the much better wrestler. But Austin's peak occurred after his injury when he wasn't nearly as good as he used to be, while Rock got a lot better after his initial heel main event run. Make no mistake about it, Austin in 1996-97 (or even 1993) was a lot better than the Rock, but the guy from 1998-Present was not, except maybe in 2001. 8) also, Better highflier? Rey Mysterio. He's faster than Van Dam. He's more agile than Van Dam. He has a better moveset than Van Dam. He has more stamina than Van Dam (which means more moves overall in a match). Plus, Van Dam's injured. Not only is he a better highflier than RVD, but so are London, Spanky & Juvy.

Tazz/Cole were quite good on the Eddy Guerrero & Chris Benoit DVDs. I think their biggest problem is that Vince won't let them do their jobs without dictating what they are supposed to say. This has been a problem for years, and it is probably affecting Lawler on RAW as well. Coach doesn't seem to have any talent at all.

I might have taken you as a dog, but not as favourites against an ailing but far superior team. (3.5) Cincinnati at Tennessee - Bengals are still playing good ball, and Tennessee is overrated thanks to a cupcake schedule. Cleveland at Baltimore (5.5) - This reminds me of that Jets game a couple of weeks ago. I'm not spotting an unconverted TD to that offense, whether they should win the game or not. (0.5) Jacksonville at Pittsburgh - Is Roethlisberger playing? Doesn't make any difference to this game, I'm just curious. Miami at Tampa Bay (4.5) - They won't win, but a road game in Florida is different than a road game in upstate New York and Tampa hasn't exactly blown opponents out lately. Minnesota at Chicago (3.5) - Can't pick Minnesota on the road, probably wouldn't pick them at home. Complete trash. N.Y. Giants at Dallas (3.5)- Eli tears apart the Dallas secondary. They managed to hold the Eagles, but I can't see them doing it two weeks in a row against great passing offenses. Washington at Kansas City (5.5) - Tough one. New England at Denver (3.5) - Another tough one. N.Y. Jets at Buffalo (3.5) - Not so tough one. (2.5) San Diego at Oakland - Chargers need to keep pace with Broncos. Houston at Seattle (9.5) - About as competitive as Lashley/Dean. St. Louis at Indianapolis (13.5) - Rams can't stay with them. Pittsburgh - 20 pts Minnesota - 0 pts

The reason this is a story is because the Vikings suck and them being unprofessional shitheads and having a coach that can't control the team is a big reason why, like someone said above. This attitude is affecting their on-field performance and has for years. If it was the New England Patriots doing this, nobody would care because it wouldn't matter. On the plus side, it at least distracts the media for awhile from talking about how bad the Packers are.

Cole and Tazz are infinitely better than Coach & Lawler.

I voted Smackdown, and the only reason it isn't neither is because there are enough guys on Smackdown that I still like watching to enjoy the show most weeks (although dud shows certainly do occur). Every once in a while they still put on a great show, but the average show is still enjoyable enough despite many flaws. With RAW, I have trouble even enjoying the 'good' shows because aside from two or three guys the talent is really lacking and lately they've been wasting them in feuds with deadweight like Chris Masters & Ric Flair. When Ric Flair holds the second highest belt on the show, there is a major problem with the talent level. Even if they decide to push Benjamin, that's just one guy and he can't make up for the enormous talent deficit by himself. So like I said, a case can certainly be made for neither, especially if you dislike Taker & JBL (I don't), but even if you do the rest of the card outside of the top level is very much skewed in Smackdown's favour. RAW can put on better main events than Smackdown at times, but the show's midcard is barren and an absolute chore to sit through to get to said main event.

True, but it is equally horrendous on RAW (Why is Shawn a face again? Why is Angle being made to look like a fool right before his title match with Cena?). This is more of a slam against WWE in general than Smackdown in particular. Good roster + Bad Booking > Bad Roster + Bad Booking.

It isn't very good, but it is still better than RAW. There you have Carlito, Flair & Masters in prominent positions and guys like Rob Conway & Tyson Tomko filling out the rest of the card, while Shelton Benjamin is buried. Eddy is better than Orton, so I'd rather see him main event, but Orton's in the second program from the top and just beat Undertaker, so I certainly wouldn't say that he's midcard right now.

The network doesn't matter, only the show. It isn't like sports coverage where the network runs the show and sometimes makes a mess of things (see ESPN Sunday Night Football).

I probably wouldn't watch Smackdown on Fridays either, but fortunately it is still on Thursday here.

I still try to watch Smackdown most weeks, although I'm not upset anymore if I happen to miss it because I'm doing something. It helps that all of my favourite wrestlers (save Angle & Benjamin, and they are being buried) are on that show, and that I find JBL to be perhaps the most entertaining wrestler in the company in the past couple of years. And even though feuds like Batista/Eddy aren't very good, I am at least happy that they are doing something different. Smackdown also seems to be starting to build a somewhat interesting tag division with LOD, MNM, the Blue Bloods, Mexicools & FBI. I've pretty much given up on RAW. There is just no depth on that roster at all. The lowcard is awful (whereas guys like London & Spanky populate the Smackdown opening acts) and the midcard isn't any better, with guys like Carlito & Masters being pushed at the same level that guys like Benoit & Christian are at on Smackdown, almost out of necessity. Ric Flair is being pushed as a credible threat against HHH, when everyone knows that HHH (rightfully) should beat him into the ground in about 30 seconds. The best new guy in the last year, Kennedy, is on Smackdown. The booking is bad on both shows, but there is really nobody on RAW besides Michaels, HHH, Angle & Shelton that is even worth bothering with. I even like Batista better than I do Cena. Even if the booking was great, I would have a hard job watching a show with the roster that RAW has. It just isn't talented enough.

Houston Texans. They haven't been able to do anything. The Niners have been lousy too, but at least there are some glimmers of hope there. They'll win the division, if only because Miami, New York & Buffalo aren't any good.

Since most of us hate FOX, shouldn't we want the ratings to be bad?

Additionally, Roddy Piper had been interfering for awhile on Virgil's behalf to try and get him to stand up for himself. Dibiase & Virgil won the match, BTW. It was afterward that Virgil turned when Dibiase started treating him like dirt.

They can beat the Saints at home. Seattle at St. Louis (3.5) - Never pick Seattle on the road. (3.5) Tampa Bay at N.Y. Jets - Jets might be looking at the #1 Overall pick. Tennessee at Houston (2.5) - Houston is going to win one of these weeks, and here is a possibility, but I can't force myself to pick their team. (14.5) Indianapolis at San Francisco - In Indianapolis, I take the 15. (2.5) Carolina at Arizona (3.5) Philadelphia at Dallas Washington at Denver (6.5) - Clock is about to strike midnight on the Skins. Cincinnati at Jacksonville (2.5) - I don't think the Jags can hold them. Matt Morgan really had potential, and he was a hoss so I don't understand why they buried him as bad as they did.

Rock and Big Show were also logical. But Big Show wasn't around at that point in 2000 for punishment and Rock was in the hottest streak of his career.

I think the saddest thing about Vince is that he always seems to know that there is a problem with the product, but never does anything about it. It seems like his employees can just walk all over him at times, unless he gets that competitive fire like he had in 1984 or 1997.
