Sports games ARE better on the X-Box, but the point is he can still get them on the PS2 and the relatively small differences between the two systems with regards to sports doesn't make up for the complete elimination of his other genre on the X-Box. If it was only sports that he wanted, then I would recommend the X-Box. But that isn't the case. If RPGs are going to be something that you play a lot of, then you have to get the PS2. It is the only option. I'm not some PS2 fanboy, I am merely speaking from experience, because I am also primarily a sports/RPG player, that the PS2 will have more games that he wants.

There are lots of exclusive games, more so than the X-Box. The Final Fantasy series, the Suikoden series, the Xenosaga series, Star Ocean, and essentially every other RPG that matters. The only thing they don't have is KOTOR which is also on the PC, and Paper Mario. And you have to remember, Mik is specifically asking for RPGs and sports games (which you can get anywhere). Recommending an X-Box or GameCube to an RPG fan is like recommending the PS2 to someone who only wants to play Halo.

That was just one boss fight though, and you still fight Kuja right before him. It isn't like they make the switch with a 1/3 of the game left, like in VIII.

The draw/GF system is precisely why I hate FFVIII. You can breeze through the entire game of FFVIII doing nothing but summoning GFs and using limit breaks. It is extremely boring and you have to watch the same GF animations over and over again. IX is easily my favourite of the PS1 FFs. It was overlooked because it came out with a lot less hype than FFVIII only a year earlier, and it was overshadowed by the PS2 which came out at roughly the same time. If you like FFVI, then you should like FFIX, as we finally return to 4 Character battles and characters with unique jobs (Vivi=Black Mage, Zidane=Thief, etc.). Even if you don't like the story (and I do), the fighting system is far and away the best of the PS1 FFs.

I said back in 2000 that New England had the potential to become the best team in the NFL. They were crap that year, but then went on to 3 of 4 Super Bowls.

The Strike, period. Nothing else comes close. It destroyed the Expos who were about to make the playoffs for the first time since 1981. The only good thing that came out of it was that we got to say the Blue Jays were World Champions for another year despite absolutely stinking in 1994. I used to be like alkeiper when it came to baseball, but I just lost interest after that. I know people who still refuse to watch MLB. At least I came back.

I picked both the White Sox & Dodgers to win their divisions. I guess I would vote for LA since I had them in the World Series.

The only thing I have against the Catholic Chruch not allowing priests to get married and accepting women into the priesthood, is that if they were so against it, why didn't they do anything about it until the ultra-conservative movement of the 11th Century? Even the abbott who precided over the famed Synod of Whitby was a woman. I'm not Catholic, so your Church can do whatever you want. I'm just saying. We Anglicans don't have any problem with married priests.

X-Box is the system to get if you like first person shooters and action games and it is easily the most powerful system, but the Japanese developers tend to avoid it like the plague, so if you want to play a lot of Japanese games (like most RPGs, Final Fantasy, Suikoden, Star Ocean, etc.) then you are pretty much locked into the PS2. With sports it doesn't really matter, with one exception, the PS2 WWE games are much much better than the ones on the other two systems. If you like to play games online, then get the X-Box.

Well you want RPGs so it is PS2 all the way with you. They basically have a monopoly on the genre.

XIX had a bad buyrate because the two most promoted matches were Vince/Hogan which nobody wanted to see and Austin/Rock which we had seen twice at Wrestlemania already when both guys weren't part-timers.

I would normally say that, but Batista has gotten himself injured quite a bit. Then again, not anymore than Orton has.

Nah...I don't think anybody was watching WCW by the time Palumbo showed up.

In case you didn't notice, JR & Lawler don't put as much effort into it as they used to. Cole & Tazz probably would have called it properly.

It doesn't matter. Age isn't as important as people around here seem to think it is. What is important is that he is fresh, he has only been at the top of the card for a few months and only in the company for a couple of years. HHH is younger, but he is stale because he's been around for many years on top. That's the difference. No fan cares that Batista is pushing 40 and Randy Orton is 24, because they have both been around for pretty much the same length of time.

His gimmick killed him dead faster than you can say 'Red Rooster'. Can he be saved? Perhaps, but only with a move to Smackdown, a gimmick change, and a decent push.

Texas Legislators vote to ban gay foster parents
Kahran Ramsus replied to SuperJerk's topic in Current Events
No, it is insulting to those who actually suffered through the Holocaust and their families. -
I'm not surprised Batista & Cena are draws, but I am surprised that it was this high when last year had the return of the Undertaker and the Brock/Goldberg matches. Maybe people didn't order it until the last minute and by that point they knew about Brock & Goldberg leaving, or maybe putting Shawn the Buyrate-Killer in the main event feud was a worst idea than we thought. Either that or Cena really is the next megastar and the buyrates were inflated as a result of him getting his first major title shot as a face. If that is the case, JBL certainly deserves a lot of credit as well for being the best heel champion in years.

Five Year Old girl punched her teacher
Kahran Ramsus replied to Your Paragon of Virtue's topic in Current Events
Here is what I don't understand. You have a school full of adults AND police officers, and you need cuffs to restrain a 5 year old? Surely they can't be that weak. -
Luca took out Muse, but his armies also caused a lot of damage to other areas of the Dunan region, specifically Greenhill (where Jowy starved the place during a long seige) & South Window (their mayor surrenders and Solon Jhee responds by cutting off his head). He also butchers his own troops at the beginning of the game and makes it look like the State did it so that he can drum up support to continue the war. I was amazed at how strong they wrote Highland to be. For the first third of the game, the good guys are pretty consistantly getting their asses kicked by Highland, until Shu shows up and turns the war around. I don't think Luca kills anyone major, but he does wipe out a bunch of lesser named characters and no-name scrubs.

Given the choice between Triple H and Randy Orton, I will choose Triple H every time.

Wrestlers You Thought Would Never Turn Face/Heel

I never imagined that Sting or Goldberg would turn heel after their huge reactions in 1997 & 1998. -
Non-Bias Attack: A gang of up to 30 black teens
Kahran Ramsus replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
Because the former is generally an attack by foreigners on the country, where the latter is American-on-American generic crime. I'm not saying I agree with it, but that seems to be the argument. Actually, I do think hate crime should be legislated (regardless of race), because generally speaking if somebody commits a hate crime, they are at very high risk to do it again. There is more of a motive there. -
I've had to move to radio. Is there an online station carrying the broadcast? ESPN radio. There will be a link on the front page of ESPN.com
