Non-Bias Attack: A gang of up to 30 black teens

Yeah. Wasn't he that guy who discovered the New World?

Possible Hell in a Cell for Vengeance

Does it matter? It seems barely above the speculation level.

HBK/HHH at Badd Blood was awful.

Umm, double ouch. He makes a terribly great point, though. I hated Yuna, too. Me too. And Rikku for that matter. There seems to be less chatting from them in X-2 though. Seymour sucked too. He was probably the lamest main villain in the entire series, aside from those like Ultimecia & Chaos that only show up at the end.

They have, but when I hear Hell in a Cell, I still think Undertaker.

    We got Pope smoke...

That's partly because the Middle East is largely filled with/run by the crazy ones. The sane ones either all left, are leaving or can't leave. I seriously doubt that most of the Muslims living in North America are extremists.

I likely will too, and I like Batista. It won't be the first time either. I barely watched RAW at all from when Brock left to Smackdown in 2002 'til Benoit showed up in 2003. In the same time, Smackdown has had some rough spots, but it never pissed me off to the point that I quit watching. Since what I consider to be the real split in September 2002 (when the world title split), Smackdown has had five prominent champions and all but Angle were new to the main event and even he was on the decline by that point spending much of 2002 in terrible feuds with Kane & Edge. Like I've said before, I don't hate HHH, and I really don't. But I am bored of him. It just seems like RAW has been treading water for 3 years, while Smackdown is at least making progress even if the writing isn't that much better. I'm reasonably confident that Judgment Day will be the blowoff to JBL/Cena, unless they transition to someone else via a Triple Threat at their next PPV (GAB?) like they did with Show/Lesnar in 2003.

    The Slowly-Dying Death of RPG's.

I see no problem with the so-called 'oversatuation' of the merket. I'm not in the business, I'm a fan. If you are too lazy to sift through the crap to find the good stuff, then that is your problem. That said, I don't think the current generation of RPGs have been as good as the last two, for primarily two main reasons. 1) Crappy voice-acting. This plagues pretty much any recent RPG from FFX to Suikoden IV to Star Ocean III. The only one that sorta gets it right is the Xenosaga games and even there, there are cringe-inducing voices (MOMO, second KOS-MOS) mingled in with the good ones (Albedo, Jr). If you aren't going to do it properly, then I would prefer they just leave the text in or do like Star Ocean and give you the option to turn them off. I've seen better acting in a 24 Hour Kevin Costner marathon than in most RPGs. Metal Gear has no problem with the acting, why should Final Fantasy be any different? 2) They simply don't seem as big as they used to be. Not necessarily in terms of length, but in terms of the content. RPGs used to be truly epic in scope (like with Suikoden II or Xenogears) featuring many, many dungeons, boss fights and a great deal of exploration. Xenogears is longer than both Xenosaga games put together, and that was with a second disk that was raped due to budget cuts. Dungeons have been increased in sized, but the number of them have been drastically reduced. Just compare the size of FFVII to FFX. Doesn't X seem to contain much less content, regardless of the actual length of the game? I actually liked X-2 than X. X-2 gives you more freedom to actually play the game, rather than the extremely linear hold-you-by-the-hand approach of X. Also, X contains possibly the most annoying main character in videogame history in more than just the minor role of X-2. I'd rather have KOTORIII starring the tag team of Jar Jar Binks and Wicket the Ewok than put up with Tidus again. At least I didn't have to listen to Squall talk.

Possible Hell in a Cell for Vengeance

HHH apparantly considers HitC to be "his" match. But I don't know why. The only really memorable one he was in was with Foley, and that was memorable because it was Foley's last match...for about a month. And I actually really liked that match, but not nearly as many people remember it or talk about it as the Street Fight a month earlier and Taker/Brock is better than any of the other HIACs since then. I don't think HBK/Taker & Mankind/Taker need even to be discussed here.

Possible Hell in a Cell for Vengeance

Is HHH still jealous that Undertaker's HIACs are more memorable than his are? In a bad way for the Bossman one, but still...I can't remember the Jericho & Nash HIACs at all and at least Bossman getting hanged I noticed.

    Things that seemingly everyone hated

I've always had a soft spot for Earthquake, and of course, I loved Double J back in the country singer days. I also liked the Martel/Roberts feud where he sprayed Arrogance in his eyes.

WWE Uncomfortable with Batista as Champion

I would be surprised if this happened. The draft will be taking place before Judgment Day, and Cena has been featured prominently in both the advertising and booking for that show. The only way they can move him to RAW is by pushing the draft back.

    RAW Rating

Hogan is popular because of nostalgia and he is a good surprise for the people already watching the show to help them enjoy it more, but he's not going to motivate other people to watch. He has his place as long as they know how to use him. Something like at Wrestlemania is the proper way.

    This Week In Baseball

I'm just enjoying for it as long as we can go. We had an awful early schedule and just to have a winning record for the road trip is quite good. Also positive is that Batista picked up his 4th Save in a season where closers all over the place have been struggling (isn't that right Mr. Foulke?). Aside from that one bad outing where the Jays won anyways, he's pitched quite well.

I used Strago, Locke, Sabin & Terra as my strongest group, although I used everybody except Setzer quite a bit. One thing I liked storywise about the WoR was Strago's response to the party breaking up. Whereas most guys either gave up the fight or continued to do their own thing, he outright joined the Cult of Kefka. There's a hero for ya.

    Does Everyone Agree...

Shelton going over Jericho wouldn't help him too much, but him losing would sure hurt him. Rudo's right. Jericho is only slightly more credible than Val Venis or Simon Dean at this point.

    A question

We are going to be in response to this. Its not like we had any choice. Also, Americans going to Canada will now need to show passports to be able to get back into the US.

    I need an RPG........

Yep. You still have to be careful though. Occasionally you will still fry one of your own guys. It is probably best to wait a turn before using strong fire magic. That way your close-combat characters will have already moved and you don't have to have them run all the way up to the enemy and then run away again in one turn. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/159...4653016-3495333 That's Volume 1. The first five are out in English, with the 6th coming out next month. The only downside is that long times between release dates. This actual hurts your argument. As the Bright Shield & Black Sword Runes are not True Runes, they are simply two parts of a True Rune. That's why their holders are fated to fight each other. Because they only way they can unite them and gain the power of the True Rune of the Beginning is by killing the other guy and taking his rune. Both Riou & Jowy will age. If all the True Runes must be present at the final battle, then the Rune of the Beginning must be united before then. Some people get this confused because of the situation with the Gate Rune. But that was a True Rune that was split into two halves, so both halves retain the powers of the True Rune. The Black Sword & Bright Shield Runes are only components that make up a True Rune when they come together. Lucia is always protecting Jowy throughout the latter half of II. Jowy is also the only one there that is around her age. Something seems up between those two, although his character certainly becomes less noble if he was cheating on Jillia the whole time. Luca makes no sense (everybody hates him), but would certainly make for an interesting plot-point down the road. We know its not Sasarai. Watch it be someone like Culgan just to piss everybody off.

Fire is a minor nuisance early on, but once you get your skills worked up, your guys are fast enough that they can hit the guy and then move out of the way for the fire spell. The key is to making sure your other party members have enough movement points to move out of the way. The scale at the bottom of the screen should help you with that. Besides, if it is just the gameplay you hate, why don't you try reading the manga? I didn't read much in terms of advertisment for the game, so I will take you at your world. Its just a plot twist. And the Flame Champion is a title, not just a person. He is just called the Flame Champion because he has no official name. Jowy may or may not be dead. He is in Suikogaiden afterwards, but the official company line is that his fate is up to the player. Therefore neither he, Riou or Nanami were allowed to show up in III, unless they did something similar to what they did with Gremio in II. Jillia Blight was living in Harmonia last we saw. But there is another potential member of the Blight family hanging around. Hugo's father is someone from Highland during the Dunan Unification Wars, and Konami has said that we have seen him. Now this could be any of the generals from Highland in II, but the favourites seem to be either Luca or Jowy. Probably Jowy, since he was the one that had the most interaction with Lucia in II. We never see Lucia & Luca together in II, which led some people to think that she showed up later, but she also mentions that she fought along side Sasarai there in III, and he fled before Luca died, so she was definitely in Highland by the time he was killed. Still, I think Jowy is probably the most likely. I wish he'd show up too. They were two of the most popular characters in the franchise.

But fire is the main one that kills your own party members. With lightning, wind & earth you don't have to worry about that, and water should only be used for healing. Not that Flame Champion. Whatever of the three main guys you choose becomes the new Flame Champion. Edge's village was attacked by vampires, so he 'lent' him the Star Dragon Sword to fight them off. Edge is looking for Viktor so that he can give it back. That was a mistake. I don't mean either Blight. I mean Bright, the white dragon that Futch has. Flik & Viktor went to join in with the Higheast Rebellion. Harmonia invaded the former Kingdom of Highland (now apart of Dunan) a couple of years previous to the events of Suikoden III, and Shu sent them there to fight off the Harmonians. Afterwards they went to the Island Nations, I believe. It was somewhere to the south anyways. II is only three years after I, and it occurs in a neighbouring country, which in the course of the game becomes an ally of the Toran Republic. You even go back to the Toran Republic for a little while, which is where many of the returning characters from I show up (Gremio, Cleo, Pahn, Lepant, Alen, Grenseal, Valeria, Tir, Kasumi, etc. all show up in or near Toran territory). The Grasslands are closest to the Tinto Republic and Harmonia, which is why you see returning characters from both of those places in III.

    I need an RPG........

Agreed. This is a problem in IV as well, and hell, probably most RPGs of this generation. The exception being Xenosaga I, and that was only in the cut scenes. Music in video games in general has gone way downhill in the past few years. I actually liked it better than the four-man parties in IV. It isn't as good as in I or II (although the big battles are better than in I). I never had any problem with magic after my characters were strong enough to use it, and I used fire magic all the time. None of the Suikoden games are terribly difficult. The hardest part of the game I thought was when you were playing as Thomas and didn't have access to powerful magic. He's dead. He fell in love with Sana and gave up the True Fire Rune so that he could grow old with her. Geddoe thinks he is a coward for doing so which is why they had a falling out. I actually thought this was a pretty good plot twist. The Star Dragon Sword is there. Viktor gave it to Edge so that he could get rid of it. More characters from I & II show up in this game than they do in IV. Lucia, Sasarai, Futch, Bright, Nash, Beechem, Joker, Apple, Jeane, Viki, Little Viki, Tuta, Lilly, Leknaat, Yuber & Luc were all in previous games and show up again here. There are a lot of relatives to characters in the first two games that show up here too (such as the Silverbergs). I do agree that Viktor & Flik could have easily been here, as well as Matilda Knights (who are allied with the Harmonians in III). There are numerous references to the first two games in the dialogue. You have to remember that III takes place in entirely different country, 15 years after II. You can't expect all of the same guys to show up.
