I never really understood the love for FFX. It is hard to get through a game when the characters are as annoying as they are there. The only one that doesn't drive me crazy is Auron and he's dead. The villains suck, and the lack of a world map really hurts the exploring aspect of the game. The gameplay is fun, and I like that they have unique character roles, unlike FFVII or VIII, but it is nothing more than a middle of the road Final Fantasy. The best ones are V, VI & IX. V & VI pretty much everybody agrees on, but IX is grossly underrated and Vivi is probably the best non-villain character in the entire series.

Since Smackdown is more enjoyable than RAW, I consider that a compliment.

You definitely want to try Suikoden III & IV. Its not a turn-based game. II is the best RPG ever made.

The only match that I have complaints about since he has come back, is the Wrestlemania XIX match against Jericho. Jericho absolutely needed that win, and he has never really recovered from it. It doesn't matter what happens afterwards, it is Wrestlemania that people remember. But I don't blame Shawn for that. I blame the booking crew/HHH, Jericho was being jobbed out long before HBK ever returned. Just look at another must-win match for him at Judgment Day 2002. Shawn wasn't even around for that one.

That's my attitude. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I don't buy the idea that more PPVs and titles devalue them. They do to a certain extent, but they can easily be worked around. Look at 2000. Almost every PPV was great or at least had something unique to set them apart and every title had meaning, except the Women's (what else is new). The problem is that they don't do anything to make PPVs special any more. Aside from the Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania & Taboo Tuesday (which is killed by not being on the weekend), all the PPVs are the same. They need to come up with gimmicks that you know will happen at a certain PPV annually, even if you don't know the participants. Like using the 6-Man HIAC at Armaggedon. For titles, they need to do two things. One, build angles around them. Two, have the wrestlers act like they want them. Shelton Benjamin has had the IC Title for 6 months and has gone about 10 without a decent feud. That's why nobody sees the IC Belt as being important anymore. The US Title was fine when it was held by Cena, but Orlando Jordan isn't doing anything with it. Sadly, the CW Title is one of the better booked belts in the promotion right now, which is part of the reason why fans are into Paul London's matches so much. The tag titles suffer the most. I grew up watching in the 80s WWF, where after the WWF Champion, No. 1 Contender, and possibly the IC Champion, the holders of that belt were the biggest stars in the promotion. Eddy & Rey are good guys to have the belts, but they aren't doing anything with it, because they have no division to compete against. The RAW tag titles are in such bad shape they are lucky if they can get off Heat. The title matches should always be the main selling points of a show, except for certain big events like the Royal Rumble, and the champions should be pushed as the best wrestlers.

Yes. Part of the problem with RAW, and this is true for the Heat announcers too, is that they always make out their lower card guys to be jokes. Hurricane, La Resistance, Val Venis, etc. On Smackdown, the announcers actually respect guys like Akio, and even though they don't win much more than the RAW guys do, they are at least serious competitors. Even Luther, who is being jobbed out to everybody, gets more respect.

Jericho is on the way down, and fast. Shelton is on the way up and fresh off stealing the show in the ladder match at Wrestlemania. He should win, and Jericho should go heel, to try and salvage something of his career.

You cant be serious? Why not? Its been better than RAW since last fall. RAW has had the odd great show since then, like when Batista turned or the one where the Rockers reunited, but Smackdown has been a lot more consistant. You can't possibly hate Paul London that much, can you?

Which is why I will always consider SmackDown! to be the much better Brand. their Main-Event Division is much more fresher than Raws. Raw's Main-Event scene consist of Triple H and the "Flavor of the month". And you make a good point, pretty much all of SD!'s past Champions including the current Champion have been new to the Main-Event scene which saids alot about how well SD! does a good job with pushing new talent to the Main-Event, and you can gurentee that the next WWE Champion will be just as good. Same can't be said for Raw because theres always the fear of Triple H gaining the title back. Lets see, SmacKDown! has the WWE title tournment in place right now, while Raw has Triple H talking everyweek for 20 min and the up-coming Diva search. hmmm, its safe to say that SmackDown! is gonna have a much brighter summer than Raw will. The other thing I really like is that they make their title seem more important. The WWE Champion is always the top star on the roster, and the main event always revolves around the title. The World Title is the main event as long as HHH is feuding over it, but if not, it gets shuffled down the card.

Shawn says he has changed, and I will believe unless I see something to suggest otherwise. It doesn't excuse his past behaviour. He did do those things, and that's that, but it doesn't affect what he does in the future.

It is worth noting that Smackdown did a better job making Cena look good than RAW did making Batista look good.

Not just ANYONE, he didn't want to put over STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN who was going to become ONE OF THE TOP FIVE BIGGEST WRESTLERS OF ALL-TIME at the BIGGEST EVENT OF THE YEAR at the beginning of the WWF boom. Yeah. I truly believe that if Austin jobbed at Wrestlemania XIV, that the company would not be around today. It would be the modern day equivalent of when the AWA refused to give Hogan the title. That and Shawn isn't exactly compared to someone like Bradshaw when it comes to toughness.

Do you know how many tourism dollars Britain would lose if the abolished the monarchy? Its the only reason any foreigner travels there. They make way too much money on it to abolish it.

I never heard that, what's the story there? Shawn was trying to back out of doing the job to Austin at XIV, going so far that he said he was going to turn the main event into a shoot. The story goes that Taker told him that if he wasn't going to be jobbing out in the ring, he would be jobbing out in the parking lot when he got back. This incident has been confirmed by numerous sources, including I believe, Taker himself. Hunter's Torn Quad knows more about it than I do. I'm sure he could describe it in more detail.

I'm regretting not starting Lilly on my fantasy team. I was worried about him having his first game back against that lineup. 2 out of 3 from the World Champions isn't bad, and they could have easily had all three. Now Toronto is in first place all by themselves.

Shawn refused to job 9 months earlier too, when nobody knew Bret was leaving. Your statement is Vince's motive, not Shawn's. Also remember that it took Undertaker to get him to job to Austin at Wrestlemania XIV, and Austin was the guaranteed next big thing at that point. Had Austin not won at XIV, the WWF might have gone out like WCW. They never ended the streak until after he won the title.

Hell, if you ask Shawn himself now that he has turned his life around he will probably admit most of this stuff.

I was just watching Tex/Sea and Soriano just took a nasty hit while covering first base. They seem to be dragging him back to second, but he was down for awhile. It could be worth keeping an eye on. EDIT: Now it looks like he might be coming out of the game. UPDATE: He's still in. So it looks like he's going to be alright.
