I wouldn't be surprised to see Kane win. He's the biggest guy in the match, and since Batista is winning the main event they might want to stick him in against Kane for his first feud. They have had some good reactions going at it in battle royals. They stuck Kane in against Benoit, they also seem to use him when the need a stop-gap title threat to put over the champion.

His character was always intended to be a joke though, and I think the writers got pissed that he got over in the role so they sabotage him by sticking him on RAW away from the CW Division and having everybody squash him. Actually, the #2 cruiser is probably Tajiri. He at least sometimes gets a mini-push.

Usually it requires someone that the fans really want to see, like Hogan or Austin. I don't think a Big Show or Booker T title win would get nearly the response whether it was guaranteed or not.

Rey is more charismatic and has more commercial appeal than any other cruiserweight, unless you still consider Eddy Guerrero a cruiser. He's more talented then most of them as well, but I doubt that factors into Vince's thinking.

They will if the main event they 'know' the result to is a finish they want to see. The 2002 Royal Rumble did the most buys of any Rumble ever, and everyone knew Hunter was winning the Rumble. While the Rumble traditionally does do a strong number, it can't be denied that most of the juice of the 2002 buy rate came from people wanting to see Hunter win a Rumble that anyone with a brain knew he was going to win the second he announced he was going to be in it. Well, yeah. Same deal with Wrestlemania XIV. But those are rare exceptions.

The problem is that everybody knew that JBL was winning because they already started booking towards the Cena match. Nobody is going to order a show that they know the outcome to. WWE has done a terrible job of this in the past couple of years. Giving away results to big PPV matches before they ever happen. They did with JBL at Survivor Series too.

No Way Out 2002 featured the return of possibly the greatest draw in the history of the industry. Summerslam 2002 featured the in-ring return of one of the worst drawing champions in company history. No surprise there.

I thought I posted this before, but I couldn't find it while scanning the thread, but the reason people don't like Stacey is because she always picks the least talented, most overpushed wrestlers on the roster to sleep with. In other words, guys who are hated by much of the fanbase to begin with, so her associating herself with them doesn't do her any favours around these parts. It is who she is with that gets her criticism.

But Money Inc. was over back then and given the thin tag ranks- they totally deserved the belt. That's still not cramming him down our throats Plus Rotundo was a good wrestler despite his crappy gimmick.

Rey is a strange case. He's so much smaller than everybody else that fans almost expect him to lose, yet cheer for him strongly anyways in the off-chance that he might get lucky once and because his style is unique. He's one of those guys who are very tough to damage permanently, and I certainly don't think they've reached that point yet. Just look at the Royal Rumble, fans were really buying him there when he made the Final Four. I think maybe you need to give him a non-title or tag team victory over the champion first to get some credibility, and that's about it. They could turn Rey Misterio into a legitimate main eventer within a month if they wanted to. He might be the only guy in the company that could go that high in such a short time.

The fans would never buy Orton going over Undertaker. It would ruin his career. They hate him enough already. He'll be the most hated wrestler since X-Pac if he goes over Taker, and that isn't a good thing. Going over someone like Mick or even Rock is okay, or even going over Taker at any other PPV. But ending the Wrestlemania streak will kill Orton's career.

RAW's buyrates are almost as bad so it isn't just JBL. Is JBL to blame for Taboo Tuesday too? HBK & HHH draw less than jackshit as well.

I know how you feel Slayer. I don't hate HHH either. He is good at what he does, but he has been overexposed so much that I am just plain bored of him. Once Benoit beat him last year, that's all I wanted from HHH to begin with and my hate went with it. Now he's just dull. I'm far more likely to simply ignore a HHH defense than I am angry when he goes over someone else. The only reason I even make it a habit to watch RAW anymore is because of Batista and it happens to be the show that Benoit is on and he's my favourite wrestler. I ignore pretty much every other segment as it is. Jack Bauer is more interesting than HHH.

I agree that the US Title would have been a better fit for JBL last June, but he's above that level now.

What were they supposed to do? Advertise Savage/Dibiase ahead of time? Hogan/Andre was the most heavily advertised of the announced matches, and thus made the poster, but EVERYTHING aside from odd things like Honky, Demolition and the Matilda incident revolved around the tournament for weeks. What is the first thing Jesse & Gorilla talk about when IV goes on the air? The WWF Championship. Not Hogan/Andre. EDIT: I should clarify. I do agree that the main event is not always the last match, such as with Wrestlemania XVIII with Hogan/Rock. I don't think Booker/HHH was the main event, as there was at least 3 (Brock/Angle, Rock/Austin, Vince/Hogan) and arguably 4 (HBK/Jericho) matches that were more heavily promoted than that one. I am just saying that Wrestlemania IV, specifically, is not a good example of the main event not going on last. You want the perfect example of a PPV where the main event didn't go on last, look no further than Survivor Series 1991.

That was part of the problem. I was not a fan of bringing the NWO back at all. Still was better than Jericho/HHH.
