The Tournament at IV was bigger than any individual match. Hogan/Andre was the most heavily hyped match because we didn't know anything else beyond the first round. The real main event was whatever the finals were going to be. Many people were hoping for Hogan/Savage, although I was in the Dibiase/Savage camp.

Consider yourself lucky. I had to stomach XI, XIII, XV & XVIII.

My big problem with Angle/HBK isn't that it won't be good (it will, just not an instant ***** classic like some people seem to think), it is that it doesn't really who wins. It is hard to get into the drama of a match if you don't care who wins. Will it be better than Batista/HHH? Easily. Will I care as interested in it? Absolutely not.

Can the Blue Jays finish above these guys?

WWE Champ. I would expect him to retain.

He said nothing about Batista actually going to Smackdown. He said that that is what he would do, in order to give him a new crop of opponents. And yes, Orton & Cena switching shows were discussed before Orton's single push bombed. The whole thing was probably intended to get the more important title on the show with HHH.

Yeah. Fuck RAW, but now I won't be able to watch Velocity!

New "Realistic Legend of Zelda" Trailer Released
Kahran Ramsus replied to Skywarp!'s topic in Video Games
That does look pretty good. And when does a true Zelda game ever disappoint, not counting the second one. -
So if you don't count North America, GameCube is outselling the X-Box, and the PS2 is so far out in front even in North America that there is no competition. Microsoft will never come close unless they do something about that number.

I thought that one was about the pledge, not about the currency.

Nothing. But a lot of people hated the cel-shaded cartoony look. But Nintendo pulled it off almost perfectly. Seems like some people were being rather childish. -
High production values = Greater cost

This is going to be a big problem eventually. Once they hit photorealistic, where do they have to go from there? VR? If I wanted to play football I'd just call some friends and go outside. -

What was wrong with the last Zelda game? -
Not me. I'm adding Eddy vs. Rey.

Disqualified - Christian used in two matches!! Shit. I'll be back in a jiffy... EDIT: Replaced it with the US Title match. Good enough - that's some hard shit to do, isn't it? Makes your brain hurt and your eyes water . . . At least it was just some random lowcard match and not something major.

WWF Championship "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair (w/ Mr. Perfect) vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage (w/ Miss Elizabeth) - The second best WWF Title match in Wrestlemania history, after Rock/Austin at X-7, and Austin & Rock are needed for other things. World Championship Triple H (w/ Ric Flair) vs. Booker T - One of two World Title matches, and I have to lose the other because of HBK being involved. An underrated match and possibly Booker's best in the WWF. Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock - A legendary match between the two biggest mainstream wrestlers ever. Not great, but nobody cares, much like Hogan/Andre. Submission Match - Special Referee Ken Shamrock Bret "The Hitman" Hart vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin - My pick for not only the greatest Wrestlemania match ever, but the greatest WWF match ever. The historical importance of this match is astonishing. It made Steve Austin. Ladder Match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels (w/ Diesel) - One of the two classics from X had to be here, and Bret Hart actually has a better match than the one here. Shawn Michaels would be a footnote in history without this match. Ladder Match for the WWF Tag Team Championship The Dudley Boyz vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. Edge & Christian - The stand out match of Wrestlemania 2000, my favourite in the series, and the peak of tag team wrestling after the 1980s. Million Dollar Championship Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase (w/ Virgil) - Good match from a show lacking in them, and it gets two of the top stars of the 80s on the show. Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle - A good solid match and a different flavour then everything else on the card. $10000 Body Slam Challenge Andre the Giant vs. Big John Studd (w/ Bobby Heenan) - You can't have an all-time Mania card without Andre the Giant, and the crowd was into it so why not? His last moment of glory before the back problems really began to set in. Lumberjack Match Lawrence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow - XI was not a good Wrestlemania, but this was better than expected and drew some outside media attention, so it makes sense to have it on this card. Hollywood Backlot Brawl Goldust vs. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper - This is to get Piper on the show more than anything. WWE United States Championship The Big Show vs. John Cena - Here because I used Christian elsewhere. WWF European Championship Shane McMahon (w/ Test) vs. X-Pac - Wrestlemania XV was a complete waste, but this match was at least somewhat entertaining. WWF Lightheavyweight Championship Taka Michinoku vs. Aquila - Short and inoffensive. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat - Best match from Wrestlemania IV. Tito Santana & Junkyard Dog vs. The Funk Brothers (w/ Jimmy Hart) - Underrated match. The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) vs. "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka - Gets Taker on the card, and it is back when he was really really cool. The Headshrinkers (w/ Afa) vs. The Steiner Brothers - Need something from IX and I'd rather avoid the Doink match if I can. Mr. Perfect vs. The Blue Blazer - Nice match early on at one of my favourite Wrestlemanias, and it gets both Hennig & Owen on the show. The Can-Am Connection vs. "Cowboy" Bob Orton & The Magnificent Muraco (w/ Mr. Fuji) - Decent fast-paced opener from Wrestlemania III.

High production values = Greater cost

I would pay it for games I wanted, but it completely eliminates the impulse buy. -
Dupree plays a Frenchman. In WWE-Land, that's pretty much the same as being gay. And if you think he's bad, you haven't seen enough of Grenier & Conway. This goes back years. Just look at "The Model" Rick Martel and the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers. Dino Bravo might have been spared, but he did seem to have a strange relationship with Earthquake, so maybe not.

I think Batista needs to win, but I don't have much doubt that he will. JBL winning won't bother me. But putting Orton over Taker is something they might actually do. Even then I'm not so sure. It would be good, but I don't think it would be a classic. Angle seems to be at his best against some who is more of a mat wrestler (or is not afraid to do so) like Chris Benoit or Steve Austin. Angle/HBK could be a styles clash. As a match, I think HBK/Eddy would be a lot better.

What I'm talking about occured on one of the weekend shows (I really think it was Action Zone) in like March 1995. It could have been 1994 on Mania, and the other guy was Diesel, but I really think that is too soon. 1995 seems right. It was definitely in March, because I was in Florida at the time.

- RAW World Title: Triple H v. Batista Could be watchable, but won't be great by any means. HHH is really going to have to have his working boots on here and it needs to be booked correctly. - SD World Title: JBL v. John Cena The better of the two main events on paper, and Cena is good when motivated and against a brawler like his matches with Undertaker. If Cena half-asses it then it won't be pretty. - Randy Orton v. The Undertaker The entire evening will be ruined if Taker doesn't win here. I don't care if it is ugly, as long as Orton jobs. - Shawn Michaels v. Kurt Angle Exactly. - CW Title: Chavo Guerrero v. Paul London Depends. London should obviously win the strap, but they probably won't get much time. At least let London get some good offense in. - 6-Person Ladder Match Clusterfuck is probably most likely, but any time Benoit is in a match it could surprise. - Big Show v. The Japanese Guy Nobody in the US east of Hawaii even cares. They should have just left it as a thing for the Japanese crowd during that tour. Big Show deserves better. - Womens Title: Trish v. The redheaded bitch Similar to Orton, except not as big. The Women's Division is dead if Trish doesn't win. - (If it happens) Hulk Hogan v. Muhammad Hassan-Chop Bad idea. Let Hogan have his moment with the Hall of Fame. He's too big of an icon to job to Hassan, and Hassan would be buried by jobbing. It is a no-win scenario.
-
That was after his abysmal title run. There was also that episode of Action Zone where they went to Shawn's lockerroom for an interview and he was in there naked with some other wrestler (I want to say Sid). He told the interviewer to wait for a second while he put something on, and it ended up being a towel which he did the interview in.
-
At least at No Mercy HHH had to cheat to win, despite him being the face and Benoit the heel. Something tells me Benoit is going down clean this time.

Sure you do, it just happens to be on Velocity.
