Okay, maybe Seattle is a better example then. Or Miami prior to this year. Good god. During the Dolphins' season of ineptitude (not the really bad one last year, but the one before in 2006) I had a chance to go see the Packers play them but couldn't afford it because even the cheapest seats were over $100 and I was moving cross country soon. This is a good reason why that stadium gets very empty, very quickly (aside from Miami sports fans being generally awful about their teams) if the Dolphins aren't doing well. This is true. I don't like going to Ravens games when they come to Miami just because tickets are outrageous. Even though Miami had ZERO wins at the time last year when Baltimore came to town.

Oops, well I guess I'd rather see Boise face TCU than Maryland! No, I believe those teams both have 5 wins so it wouldn't matter. A bowl is only forced to take a team before ND if they have 7 wins. I think ND will be fine even if both of those teams win. A UL loss would probably helpmore, since ND is part of the BE's bowl selections.

No, probably not. But I don't believe that the Patriots can be considered one of the best teams ever. They didn't even win the Super Bowl! If anything, the Pats will be remembered for cheating and for choking on the biggest stage. Maybe a "best NFL team that didn't win the Super Bowl" would be interesting. I still say a Wild Card team that beat 4 (!) teams that beat them during the regular season was not the best team in the NFL last year, but they did win when it mattered.

BSU wouldn't travel as well as Ohio State. Boise is a new success story, doesn't have a national fanbase yet, isn't from a big conference, and doesn't have as many fans. Columbus is a bigger city than Boise (I think so anyways, I'm not sure but it's a good assumption) and Buckeyes are one of the 10 biggest fanbases in the country. They also have traveled well to the Fiesta Bowl before. I don't see why the Sugar would take Utah, UNLESS Florida loses. Arizona is one state south of Utah. The Sugar Bowl is very far for Utah's limited fanbase to travel, and the SEC loser would murder them. The problem is figuring out where Texas would go if they don't make the national title. I'm assuming USC/PSU will be the Rose and ACC Winner/Cincy will be the Orange Bowl. So, we gotta figure out where Utah, Texas, the SEC loser, and Ohio State go. Ohio State won't be matched up against the SEC loser, I would think, so put them in the Fiesta against Utah. Then, Texas/SEC loser in the Sugar would probably work out okay.
