Why does not playing for a conference title matter if the sole reason they're not playing is the BCS ranking to begin with, which they barely lost? Those matchups are terrible.

Maryland vs Georgetown! WOOO!!!
-
Funny ass TD for Jones. That better stand. 17-13 with the XP upcoming after the challenge.
-
Jets are down 17-7. Anyone have a stream for ATL/SD, by the way?
-
Tech's weak ass OOC schedule would have been their biggest downfall if they lost to OU in an expected classic, but losing 65-21 really put the final nail in their coffin unfortunately. Losing Crabtree and having a 50 percent Harrell didn't help.
-
You'd still have Tech with 1 loss wondering "what about us? We beat one of those teams too!"
-
I'm not saying this would be the right way to do it and like I said when I posted the thread this week I like the Big XII's three-way tiebreak rules compared to the likes of the Pac-10 and MAC. But how about instead of declaring the highest ranked team the conference champ, rather you throw out the lowest ranked team (Texas Tech) and then go back to head-to-head. I think might be slightly more fair but there's a lot hindsight involved in that. No, because then sometimes the lowest ranked team will whine. What if they were all 1, 2, 3? Face it. Someone's going to get screwed in a 3 way tie. At least it doesn't happen often. I think this is the first time the Big 12 has had to even use this tiebreaker.
-
How else should it be settled? It WAS settled on the field. Everyone beat each other. I see no other way to fairly decide this.
-
I did get a kick out of the "65-21, 39-33" sign a fan had behind Stoops and Bradford in the post game interviews. Now, the stupid ass debates unfortunately won't end. This will just add more fuel to the fire. *sigh* Go Missouri.
-
Yeah, Oklahoma is 2 and Texas is 3. You might be the last person to finally figure it out, but it's official.
-
The NFL season has gone pretty much as.. absolutely no one expected. I'm loving it. Bucs 9-3, Jets 8-3, and Ravens 8-4? I'll take it. Jets will hopefully be 9-3 in a few hours. They just had to punt, though. Who did the Browns end up bringing in at QB?
-
Browns need to win out just to have a chance of saving their coach's job, I hear.
-
BCS takes an average of coaches poll, harris poll, and computer rankings. BCS ranking is what matters. I don't know if this answers your question, though.
-
Redskins get an interception and are driving now before halftime.
-
Hopefully the Wizards can win a game or two this week.
-
Yeah that was a terrible call. 13-7 now. I wish the Ravens game was on even though it seems boring.
-
Oklahoma is clearly going to be ahead of Texas in the BCS. They are ahead in the coaches and will be ahead in the computer. So, unless a magic fairy sprinkles dust on their computers between now and 4:30 PM EST, Texas will be screwed in a way. However, one advantage Texas may have: They won't have to play the extra game. OU very well could lose, and then Texas will move into the top 2 against the SEC champ. Then again, Texas already destroyed Missouri and OU probably will too.
-
Clinton Portis is hurt and the Redskins are down 13-0.
-
Great, Miami/STL and NYG/WSH are on here. At least I can watch the Redskins, but damn, I'm sick of the Dolphins.
-
Can we all just stop whining about ESPN being biased? Last week, it was Ray Bentley hating Ball State. Now it was ESPN kissing Texas's ass. WHO FUCKING CARES. Oklahoma did what they have to do. ESPN doesn't fucking matter.
-
Awesome, that would be a plausible scenario (happened in 1999 with Marshall and BYU, as the article said), and it would make "Ball State in the Motor City Bowl" a little more easier to accept. I'd love to see that bowl game, like Boise/UL in the 04 Liberty Bowl.
-
I guess it's better than a Penn State/Oregon State rematch. UCLA can still beat USC, of course.
-
I'd love to see OU lose this game and Tech to beat Missouri by 50 next week or something. It's too bad Missouri lost today. That's one thing that will hurt Tech if the aforementioned situation happens.
-
I'm someone that is sick and tired of Oklahoma/Texas debates. Oh, and Tech won.
