WWE General Discussion - February 2009

Well, I saw a 'report' on 411 that Punk was going to be suspended for 30 days. That claimed to be on WO.com but was not there nor on any other wrestling reporting site. This was among posts like 'WWE has purchased ROH' and 'Warrior signs with WWE'. So take this with a grain of salt.

Question for anyone who knows about stocks: Would it be a good idea or a bad idea to invest in WWE at the moment?

Christian's Re-debut in WWE has occurred!

You guys are cheating. But yeah, I actually watched ECW tonight for the first time in forever.

Christian's Re-debut in WWE has occurred!

Even though ECW is like the C show...this is -still- a step up from TNA, ratings wise. Sad, isn't it?

Shane going over in the beatdown means Orton beats the shit out of him at NWO right?

The US Economy and Current Financial Crisis

No, fucking conservatives. These pieces of shit killed the fucking stimulus bill by focusing on trivial pork that actually would've done lots more good than harm, cutting out $16 billion in school funding, almost passing $3 trillion in tax cuts (see: completely throwing money away) over the next several years, cut $40 in badly needed state funding, cut out money for food stamps, cut out money for unemployment insurance, but instead, gave a $15,000 tax to affluent homeowners, which will do NOTHING at all to create jobs. Did I mention the multiplier for tax cuts is an astonishing .5? Their return on the economy is 50% of what they cost. That's assuming that Americans decide to spend some of it on things, instead of tucking it in the pillow that they coddle while watching the news. Aside from the fact that the DeMint Amendment already helps the unaffected, the $3 trillion it promises (equal to the size of the hole in the US economy, so says the Congressional Budget Office), its return will be a measly $1.5 trillion, maybe, while simultaneously creating a giant sink hole of a deficit. 87.8% of the Senate Republicans voted for this! A $3 trillion stimulus package would've been a dream come true, but it was almost in the form of tax cuts. Fuck the conservatives, these cock sucking mother fuckers killed the stimulus bill because they couldn't stand the fact that they were problem, and government spending is a necessity right now. They couldn't understand the severity of the problem, and decided to gerrymander and filibuster until their plates were satisfied. They failed to act for the last 8 years, and they've failed to act in the last 3 months. Especially fuck Eric Cantor. The entire Republican economic theory HAS FAILED. It's in shambles, and they're breaking the shambles into smaller shambles. At the time when America needed action the most, they failed. The failed, and they failed, and they failed, and they failed. As an economist, I am infuriated at both parties to falling victim to this kind of bullshit economic theory, and I'm infuriated at how little this bill will now do for the country. The conservatives put policy above pragmatism, tax cuts above sense. Because of them, thousands of Americans will stay out of work, the economy will drag its feet, and the next few years will be much harder than they should be. Marvin, you're a piece of shit too. Go get your own opinions. Honest question here: The bill won't be completely ineffectual because of what they cut out, will it? I mean it won't be as good as it could have been, but it's not completely worthless, is it? What exactly did they cut?

Orton can't get DQ'd, but Stephanie can say they'd be fired instantly if they came to the ring.

WWE General Discussion - February 2009

Wtf? I didn't even hear of it mentioned until the day of, and it was just speculation on the chat room, not one of the rumors on the website. To be honest I don't even know why they're upset. Marks don't read dirtsheets, do they? Isn't the IWC an 'insignificant' audience to them?

WWE General Discussion - January 2009

If they wanted to, have somebody from one brand win Money in the Bank and then the other brand can have a superstar win the Royal Rumble. Both main events would be covered for Wrestlemania, but of course that takes the fun out of the Elimination Chamber. If only Punk was taken seriously more, I think he would've done great headlining WM. They had a perfect storyline set-up, but the wrong person went over. They could still do a feud, if Orton wins at WM. Punk could be one of his challengers, bringing up their history and how Orton cost him the belt. It probably won't happen but if they ever want to do it they could.

    WWE Raw - January 26, 2009

No to anything that ends in another lame heel authority figure angle plz! It's heading that way regardless no matter how we spin this. Either Stephanie or Shane is in cahoots with Legacy, and Shane would make more sense considering Stephanie ran roughshod over him and pushed him out of the way to run the show on RAW. And it would set up Orton-Cena for WM at the same time. Orton in danger of running roughshod all over RAW means he needs the World title to help that along. Cena takes a stand against Legacy and you have your RAW ME for WM. That just stinks of 'shocking swerve' though. Shane allies with Orton after they beat the hell out of each other at NWO? What'd they do, 'fake-fight' each other?

    WWE Raw - January 26, 2009

Indeed. He was super-over after losing his mask and it seemed to be the thing that would finally put him over the top as a true main event star. Then he feuds with Shane for months instead and even today people no longer see him as a real threat. Yeah, they really fucked Kane with that feud. He was massively over as a face even though he was pushed as the ultimate monster heel. I was hoping after the JR BBQ incident he would go on a path of destruction across both Raw and Smackdown culminating with his eventual defeat at the hands of the returning Undertaker. Cross brand matches were rare at that time and a super over monster like Kane destroying top stars on both shows would have had everyone at a fever pitch for Undertaker to put him down. Of course, someone thought Shane McMahon was the better idea. Didn't Kane win that feud in a stretcher match?

    Finish Him!

    Why is it Sweet Chin Music is more "deadly" than a regular Superkick, or Jake Roberts' DDT/Raven's Evenflow/Dreamer's DDT more effective than a regular DDT? This point can be made about any move that is used as a finisher. What if someone were to use a punch as a finisher? Aw dammit, I wanted that Gif for my sig, Truthiness. Okay, everyone who posted a picture has thoroughly proven me wrong. ^^;

    WWE / Low-Ki talk

I don't see why WWE would be concerned about rival promotions. As much as we'd like to, TNA, ROH and the like will almost never compete with WWE barring a massive failure on WWE's part.

Is he still out of action? Why didn't he get called up, ever? They just keep him around that whole time then release him?

Just a question...what's the current writing team? A friend of mine thinks Raw's head writer left and a bunch of new guys signed on for some reason a while back...I wanted to know if that was true.

    Royal Rumble 2009

Replace Jesse and Festus with Knox and Umaga and you're probably pretty close to correct. There's a LOT of believable or push-heavy participants there. Too bad only a few actually have a shot at winning. I'm looking at HHH, HBK, Jericho, and Orton. Unless this is what you mean?

    Cuts are a comin!

PWI is reporting that talent cuts are coming today. The Edgeheads had better not answer their phones. Either should D'Lo Brown, Candice Michelle, Jim Duggan, Hardcore Holly, Val Venis, Jimmy Yang, Braddock, Goldman, Gavin Spears, Paul Burchill, Sim Snuka, Bam Neely, Katie Lea or Rickie Ortiz for that matter... I'm not sure I get the joke about 'answering phones'. I've heard it multiple times in regards to firings.
