Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

Wasn't Bossman on the WWE Roster as a trainer for OVW when he died? I thought he was.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

Sad thing is, this does happen all the time to a lot of undercard guys, but it isn't made a big deal as such. Big Bossman, Bam Bam Bigelow, Mike Awesome? They were taken way too young and could still have made successful comebacks later in their career. But there wasn't much hooplah other than a few sad fans and a graphic to remember them by. Crash Holly barely even got a mention when he died. If Al Snow or Funaki died in the same manner, I sincerely doubt that RAW would be canceled. Imagine now if Triple H, John Cena, or Shawn Michaels were found dead? All WWE TV would be canceled for at least a month.

    Wii

I think what they mean is the game sort of holds your hand in the beginning by showing you a recommended route while in a mission. From what I can tell, you don't need to follow the route, it's just there to show you where you need to go without taking a wrong turn and getting lost. The city is pretty confusing but does a better job at making the game feel like a real city than GTA does. The chases there has to be a certain distance between who you're chasing or you'd lose them, so it's no different than GTA. The gameplay seems to be deep enough to be a keeper, if you like sandbox games that is. It almost seems to be a drug trade simulator than just another GTA clone. The extent of the Wii controls seem to be camera control, aiming, and shaking the nunchuck to taunt and go into Blind Rage mode, so if you played any other version of the game, the controls won't suddenly make it a new game. I'd give it a rental at least. Keep in mind that Tony himself cannot kill civilians. "I don't need this shit in my life!" "I've never fucked anybody over that didn't have it coming to them." He doesn't believe in killing innocents. But you can hire henchmen and play as them when you have enough respect and cash, and they aren't held back by some moral code.

    Wii

Well, I bought and played Scarface: The World is Yours for a few hours today. My impressions? First of all, the Wii controls take a bit getting used to. The aiming with the Wii Remote is great, but the camera control can be a bitch when stuck in a corner or jumped from behind. The 'taunting' by wiggling the nunchuck is a pointless addition though. I often find myself taunting at inopportune moments. Other than a few button placement issues, the controls of the game are great and really help the game. The game itself seems to be a decent sandbox game with a bit of depth in dealing coke with dealers and paying off heat with the police and local gangs. I haven't played much into the missions yet, but the game seems like a keeper so far.

    OAO ECW Thread for 6/12

Marcus Cor Von's gimmick is pretty much the same it was in TNA, but toned down a bit. He's the "Alpha Male", a guy who thinks he is dominate guy wherever he goes, despite if he earned that title or not. He thinks he's the king of the jungle so to speak. The main difference between his WWE and TNA characters is he doesn't seem to act like a cat anymore. Also, WWE seems to have done a lousy job at establishing Monty Brown's character as well. He shouldn't be Elijah Burke's lackey, and he should have a three-month streak of steamrolling midcarders. I'd pay to see him squash Viscera, a guy three times his size, and having him eat a pounce to help put the move over.

    Wii

I'm picking up Scarface: The World Is Yours tomorrow, just because I'm hungry for a sandbox game to play on a console. I'll be certain to let you know how it turns out on the Wii. In fact, I'm going to watch the movie for the first time right now.

This match can't be bad. Monty Brown is the worst worker, who makes up for it with his fountain of charisma and the POUNCE~! Oh, and Benoit and Punk helps too. I'm a Monty Brown fan.

    OAO ECW Thread for 6/12

I think the Boogeyman would have gotten extremely over in the original ECW no matter how badly he sucked. In fact, I think that his black-hole of talent would have made a HUGE ECW star in the 'he's so bad he's actually good at sucking' type of way. Yay! Firefighters~!
  14. Even though he has like zero motive to do it, I don't think Kane was even shown or mentioned at all on the show, and he is an 'expert' in fire. Or it could be... OMG! VKM killed VKM!

    At least the music's good

Its not a game, but that is exactly how I feel about Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. When I come up with the list of positives for the movie, #1 is always the music. Its usually a bad sign when the music is the best part of a movie, and the movie isn't a musical or titled "The Blues Brothers". As for games, Buck Bumble for the N64. I don't remember much about the game aside the fact the theme song of the game is really catchy. Also, my current Avatar is an example of a soundtrack being way better than the game. (Since I change avatars often, the game is Mach Rider)

    Wii

I mentioned it a day before they started doing them. The discussion took a turn for the worse when WWM started trolling Smash Bros as a series.

I currently use my Wii as my GameCube as well, only because I gave my real GameCube to my sister after buying the Wii. I miss having a purple box sitting on my shelf.

    Guitar Hero.

What do you think the chances are of the Wii version having exclusive Nintendo music on GH3? I'd preorder the game first thing tomorrow if they got these guys to make music for the game.

I'm posting it here not knowing its worth it or not to bump an old thread. On a crazy impulse, I put down a preorder for Scarface: The World is Yours for the Wii, mostly because I wanted a sandbox game on the system. However, I never played the X-Box or PS2 version of the game, nor have I even read any reviews of it. Is the game decent at least? The reviews are mixed: IGN loves it, while GameSpot finds it blah. I think it would have been better if I picked up Godfather instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sg2OzL-l0FE The trailer for the Wii version. The game at least looks like it has potential on the system.

http://info.sonicretro.org/Shadow_the_Hedgehog_%28game%29 Naka is the Producer for Shadow according this link, with Izuka-san the director for it. Izuka's name doesn't even show up on the list for Sonic Next Gen, even when I looked on Wikipedia, but neither does Yuji Naka's. Apparently Shun Nakamura (the genius behind Billy Hatcher) is to blame for that mess. So we're both right and wrong I guess.

The reasoning that Sonic CD didn't have the 'improvements' that Sonic 2 had was because it was made by Naoto Ohshima, the guy who created Sonic the Hedgehog, and therefore, the game plays a lot more like the first game. Yuji Naka, the guy who is wrongfully credited to creating Sonic, was the head of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Naka is also the guy who also is helping to kill the Sonic franchise with such 'hits' as Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Next Gen. Sonic 3 & Knuckles is overrated for being "gaming perfection" to some. The game suffers from some poor level designs (Marble Garden Zone, Carnival Night Zone, and Sandopolis Act 2) and the fact that you had to pay full price for two games just to have the 'complete' experience. By the way, the reason why Sonic and Knuckles is "more of the same" is because it IS the second half of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Crafty, eh? Now that I think about it, Sonic Adventure 2 is the most overrated, especially in comparison to Sonic Adventure. The people who say that SA2 is the best 3D Sonic must be forgetting that Knuckles and Rogue's stages are among the worst in Sonic history. Either that, or they're too busy dinking around with the Chao Garden to notice. Sonic Labyrinth is the worst Sonic game, period.

Sonic CD is underrated because: A. Not that many people have played it. B. There are plenty of haters for the game. The only people overrating the game are the elitists that think they're special just because they were able to play the game when it first came out, and needed a reason to justify their purchase of the overpriced SEGA CD. (I know a few people like this on a different forum, not knocking on anybody here specifically) The most overrated game in the Sonic franchise is Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

    Guitar Hero.

I'm hyped for Guitar Hero 3 on the Wii. Due to my lack of a PS2 in my game collection, I missed out on the first two. Both great songs. I'm surprised that the Slow Ride wasn't in the first two. Not to sound like a dork, but this is one of my favorite songs. Makes the game a must buy for me. Especially since it looks like it won't be a cover.

I picked up Sonic Gems Collection today. Sonic CD is indeed an underrated Sonic game. It's not a great as Sonic 1,2,3&K, but it still has its charm. The fact that it gave birth to Amy Rose is good enough for me. However, getting all the good futures is indeed a pain in the BUTT. The race between Sonic and Metal Sonic was pretty epic for its time. And strangely enough, I actually prefer the American soundtrack (by Ecco composer Spencer Neislen) to the Japanese one. I also have the PC version of Sonic CD that I found at flea market, but it sadly doesn't work on Windows XP. I got the XP patch for it, but the game is still buggy as hell. At least now I have a non-buggy version of the game. Sonic the Fighters is goofy fun. Is it a deep fighting game? Not by any stretch of the imagination. Its just a clone of Fighting Vipers, with Sonic characters. I have a blast playing it with my friends though. Sonic R is just odd... very odd. Tails Doll is the most evil thing ever created, bar none. And the jPop soundtrack just won't leave my head! I heard the music for the game was bad, but I didn't expect it to be THIS bad!
