Oh god. He tried to compensate being awful on the mic by screaming a stream of obscenities. WTF was Pauley thinking? "Hey, my company's in the shitter financially. Mike Awesome jumped ship as champion. I know! Why don't I make this so-so worker with well-below-average mic skills champion!"

Yeah, that'd be a great gimmick to give the Intercontinental Champion, 'guy who's never watched wrestling'. Watch the buyrates soar! RE: WWE Buyrates The hardcore WWE fans would buy ANYTHING. I'm dead fucking serious. If Vince decided he wanted to push his dog, and the bookers put the belt on him and gave him hours of segments, the fanbase would STILL buy PPVs.

Wait, so Cena got booed in Italy? I thought Cena only got booed in smarky cities! Maybe all those years of Italy being an ECW stronghold are coming back to bite Mr. Cena in the BUTT

Bobby Lashley is going to get over no matter what and you're going to like it damn it! Its like 2002 when they decided to call everybody from OVW up to the main event because they needed new stars. Bobby Lashley should of copied Brock Lesnar you know beat up the Hardy Boys in squashes, then go over RVD, then beat up Big Show and Undertaker and when he is finally over piss off the management and run off to Japan to be a MMA fighter! Ugh, 2002....I stand corrected.

This has gotta be record time for the post-WM turnaround from watchable to utter shit.

Oh no, I totally agree. I never knew much nor cared about Albright during his WWE run, as I don't have access to OVW. When I saw him in ROH I was really impressed, and for that reason I think he's a great worker, not because WWE booked him as a Benoit student.

    So, um yeah....

While I wasn't necessarily a fan of the gimmick, I see your point. What I don't get is Mecca's claim that the WWE duped everyone into thinking Albright could work simply through the gimmick. There's no basis in reality for that if you've actually seen Albright go.

    So, um yeah....

Bullshit, have you seen Albright work in ROH? He IS a great worker, not some WWE creation of a "great worker." And "smarks" thought MVP sucked because, upon his debut, he wasn't very good in the ring. He's busted his ass and become one, and for that he deserves credit. Once again, it's not some super-genuis WWE creation. I give them credit for the gimmick, because it's a fun one and a big reason I watch SD when I don't watch Raw or ECW. But the credit for his ring work goes to him, he didn't come in very good at all. This guy says, "Have another drink."

Nagata vs. Benoit in New Japan?; Angle vs. Lesnar in Inoki's IGF?

I see what you're saying, but in the case of Benoit he's totally jacked and Punk has a unique look with the tats and piercings. Danielson's uniqueness is how...normal he is. Those two other guys also have a good 20-35 pounds on Danielson. I worry that he'd be booked more like Paul London than CM Punk for those reasons.

Bryan Danielson in WWE...there's a horrifying thought. Not for him for financial reasons, obviously, but as a fan.

There's no excuse for a blood feud like this one to have a blindfold stip. Hell, after how badly that last blindfold match between Roode and Dustin Rhodes was, you'd think they would've learned.

    OAO TNA Lockdown 2007 Thread

Oh, I see. That makes sense. Ideally I'd like to see this gimmick get Lethal the title since he's a great worker, then have him transitioned into a serious worker. I'm not holding my breath, but if this gimmick can get him that initial pop, and that be transitioned into something more lasting, that's ideal.

Huh? He's over because the fans are cheering him, rather fervently at that. He might not last, but perhaps they're striking while the iron's hot with the belt. I don't really understand what the point you're trying to make is.

I don't it's backwards logic for him to get the title. He's actually being pushed and seems over. I hope this match is the gateway for Sabin and Shelley forming the Motor City Machine Guns in TNA. No, i dont mean backwards logic from the TNA standpoint, with him being over and pushed it sort of makes sense. I mean from the TSM point of view. I was the only one to say the gimmick was funny and might work. Oh, OK. Gotcha.

Ya. New Jack can go fuck himself. Would you tell him to do that, to his face? Dude, no one would tell New Jack to fuck off to his face. I pity the person foolish enough to do so.

I will be stunned if Jarrett gets pinned tonight, and I'll be shocked if Jarrett isn't the guy that beats Christian for the TNA title. Oh same here. I'm not delusional, I'm just thinking wishfully.

Don't think I said anything about Joe vs. AJ one-on-one at Slammiversary, just that AJ beating Christian at Sacrifice would set the stage: you get Joe in a contender's match, the various guys Christian promised matches, Christian's rematch and champ AJ in the KOTM. When you assume, you make an ass etc. etc.

I take anything Inoki says with a grain of salt.

Jarrett's fine on the mic and good in the ring. If he works as an upper midcard veteran face helping the young guys, a la Sting last spring but not as much in the spotlight, I'm fine with him being back.

I've seen a few FMW electricfied cage matches and those came off really well. Hopefully LAX/Dudleys follow that style. I like the idea of AJ scoring the pinfall (preferably on Jarrett). A heel - heel feud for one month really would be something different, and AJ winning sets up the title scene for Slammiversary, where hopefully Joe gets the belt.
