Larry Zbysko? The only thing he had Joe didn't was an arsenal of rest holds.

Scientists: Same sex couples found in nature.

Ironic that O'Reilly decries anyone's promiscuity when he's busy asking women if they want their boobs rubbed with loofahs and jerking off during phone conversations. -
I find Truthiness posts are best read when they're not read at all.

Hrm, just looked it up and you're right. I was six at the time, hence the foggy memory

He wasn't in charge of booking WCW and deciding to turn the company into his own personal playground. And when those people were removed, a revolving door of imbeciles were put in charge who couldn't book their way out of a paper bag. With who was in charge, he could have had the belt forever and it wouldn't have made a difference. I saw a shoot interview with Nash in which he insists they just HAD to get the belt of Goldberg because Nash claims 'Berg was getting booed out of the building. Bullshit. Everyone I knew at the time who was into WCW loved Goldberg, and him losing the belt in such a ridiculous fasion killed much of their interest. I know that was pretty much it for me as a big WCW fan.

Ashley Massaro Linked to Escort Service
Corkscrew_Senton replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
Wouldn't fuck her for a penny? If she was a random bar skank, just about any hetero male would do unspeakable things to her...but she ain't 25 grand's worth. -

$25,000 to fuck Ashley Massaro...further evidence of the American dollar's free fall. -
Hard Work Bobby Walker deserved a push, damnit! And I do remember Road Block having a very brief feud with Lex Luger. I enjoyed seeing Saturday Night guys get on Nitro.

A discussion about the inflated audience during the Monday Night Wars
Corkscrew_Senton replied to Boxer's topic in General Wrestling
Austin's heel turn was indeed brutal. They were going in a great direction with him up to Wrestlemania as a really violent SOB, obviously to foreshadow his turn. But that gimmick could have worked with a face. Hell, it already was working, and he still felt more like the fan favorite during that Taker feud. It took turning him into a guitar playing nerd to get the crowd disliking him, but that wasn't "want to see the heel get beat" heat, it was "wow this blows" heat. -
Ron Paul's running mate if he can somehow steal the nominaton on Super Tuesday is a man with plenty of experience stopping the NEW WORLD ORDER:

There was an angle with LAX in a park about to burn the American flag. Petey was with them and had a change of heart. He was holding the flag and a blow torch, looked at it for a second and cut what was actually a pretty good promo about as much as he hated the war mongering and greed of America, he appreciated having opprotunities in the U.S. The turn itself wasn't that bad, but having him wear American flag trunks and such was fucking stupid.

Scott Steiner being a face in WWE for trying to rape Stephanie McMahon in the ring. Hoo boy.

Ah, Molly Holly. A *realistically* attractive female who was also a great worker, turned heel because she wasn't a slut and hadn't had plastic surgery.

Yeah, this seems like it could be a good deal all the way around. Good cross promotion for Spike TV's two most successful entities, good promotion for UFC and perhaps better for TNA if UFC is returning the favor in any way.

Muta was doing a tour with Insane Clown morons' fed and was in Orlando to talk business with Jarrett. The two figured, you're here why not put you on TV? Personally I'm glad TNA maintained its relationship with NJ over AJ. As cool as Kojima/Voodoo Murders showing up would have been, NJ has much much more to offer. Thankfully Jarrett seems to have more respect for foreign workers than Russo. That Liger deal with Juvi in '99 was embarassing.

Sting is one of my all-time favorites, and he's been a part of so many infuriating angles/matches. In 2006, he should have had a nice, long final run as champ before putting over a youngster. Instead he jobs a month after his big win by DQ. And of course, there was the moment that should have been WCW's knockout blow to WWF, Starrcade '97. A close rival to the Invasion as worst moment of my time watching wrestling.

Sure, it's used all the time, but that doesn't make it any less stupid. The last time a jingoistic angle/character got over worth a damn was Hulk Hogan in the '80s, and that's because that was the culture of America at the time. Look at wrestling the past decade and what has gotten over meaningfully: - NWO: anti-establishment bad guys out for their own personal gain - Steve Austin: beer drinking everyman vs. evil rich boss - Original ECW: never used a jingoistic angle. Sure, Heyman brought in the Quebecers and Japanese workers, but it wasn't USA vs. Other Country, it was always about "ECW vs. Other Fed" - The Rock vs. Hunter: Young stars who rose at the same time battling for supremacy. Even as long ago as 1991 fans were sick of the jingoism angles. Wrestlemania 7, All-American Hulk vs. Iraqi supporter Sgt. Slaughter was a huge flop. Just because promoters do something ad nauseum doesn't mean it's good.

Raven - Jarrett Destiny. Getting AJ as champ not long after was nice, but Raven as heel champ with his ECW cronies and AJ as a face beating him down the road would have been so much better. Kurt Angle going over Samoa Joe clean at Genesis '06. The entire Invasion, which for me is still the single worst moment in the time I have watched wrestling. WWE jingoism: Un-Americans (it pushed guys I liked, but at a dumb cost); La Resistance; Chris Nowinski being a heel for reflecting my same opinions on Iraq; Mohammed Hassan: Vince is so hungry for mainstream attention, and pushing Hassan as a face would have generated some positive attention. Instead we get an Iron Sheik wannabe with a hint of terrorism. Stephanie McMahon as Smackdown GM Stephanie McMahon comparing the Steroid Trials to 9/11.

I've been following TNA for a very long time, and I can't think of any instance when they put a wrestler's departure on the website. That, coupled with the wording of it, which is WWE's signature departure phrase, makes it seem like a total work.

LuckyLopez, glad you mentioned the Rainbow Express. Brings back memories. My god was TNA bizarre in 2002. The good stuff was so tremendously good, it made me shell out money for the show every week: Ron Killings, the X Division esp. Low Ki-AJ-Lynn's feud. But the bad was SO BAD, it would have almost been funny if it wasn't so embarassing.

Given that Russo and Dutch have the book, I fear an over-the-top gay male character will win the Knockouts title Hopefully the TNA bookers don't read this thread!

That's cool, definitely makes sense.

Here's a serious question for you, Jingus: Why do you bother with TNA? You get so heated about it, yet continue to follow it. I don't get it. Don't take this as me calling you a TNA-hating goth or anything. TNA frustrates me, but I don't hate it -- even when it's bad, it has an embarassing train wreck appeal I can't help but watch, much like late WCW. I couldn't help but be entertained by that crapfest, either. But seriously, if a TV show or film pissed me off as much as TNA seems to you I would just not bother with it. I dunno. Anyway, I'm not attacking you or anything like that, just curious.
