I've got no problem with Joe-Angle I happening right away. I don't have a problem with II following immediately. But the problem came when III was the very next month. The winner of II should have gone on to win the belt, loser of II has some feuds while the winner's defending. Then, several months later, have an epic rematch in match #3, with the title on the line.

An angle with an ambiguously dressed worker who beats opponents then later reveals to be a woman could be very good. And since Vince is so eat up with publicity, that's something that could potentially garner positive press. So, expect the idea to be canned and the woman to be repackaged as either Vince's on-screen lover or Random Bimbo No. 1506

Monty Brown isn't a great, or even good, worker. His promos in TNA were strange. And yet, I wish he'd been booked to win the championship in early 2005 as the transition into King of the Mountain.

True story. I was watching Impact one night and my roommate asks if I'm watching WWE. I said, "no this is TNA." And he says "TNA? Is it porn?" And it's totally a Russo WCW 2000 thing. During that weird period in early 2003 when the show would toss in shoots all the time (guess who was booking) Russo cut a promo saying "TNA wasn't meant to stand for Total Nonstop Action. It was supposed to be Tits N Ass!"

Well, since Vince Russo is trying hard to ruin my favorite wrestling promotion, I guess it's only fitting Stephanie and Co. try to ruin the only good WWE product. A greaser gimmick? Seriously? As Peter Griffin once said..."Take THAT 1950s society!" And having Kennedy, the most over heel in the company (save for maybe Edge), as Rumble squash bait is idiotic.

I watched the trailer on YouTube. Makes me want to watch the show even less. People being electracuted? Explosions? Looks like FMW -- in other words, fucking awful.
-
Maybe his reaction was because that Long Island caller sounded like he was joking and trying to poke to fun at him? I could be totally wrong though and he could just hate gay people.
-
Fuck Vince Russo. He's ruining a company I've enjoyed the last three years. This shit is more like Days of Our Lives than it is the TNA I enjoyed. As for secrets from the past storylines, I didn't mind the ones booked by Paul Heyman in the old ECW like the Beulah/Raven/Dream connection, but Russo's are all ridiculous and serve no purpose.

Good lord, she is SMOKIN. If that's manish I'd like to see the girls UseTheSledgehammer is pulling. .....are you...are you sure about that? If I saw her walking down the street I would absolutely take in an eyeful. Whether or not you think she's hot, matter of opinion, but as far as looking like a man? No at all. -
WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

I thought the Berlyn gimmick, with the whole refusing to speak English thing was great. I read somewhere it was killed or slowed because of Columbine. I wonder how true that is, or if it was a typical power play by one of the WCW big boys. -
I think it's hilarious that out of everyone who holds the "wrestling fans are slack-jawed morons" stereotype, those in charge of the world's largest wrestling fed seem to believe it the most.

Nattie Neidhart looks like a man??? Wow, everyone's entitle to their opinion but jeez, that's bad. -
Extreme Tiger vs. Joe Lider vs. Pac (the English wrestler) vs. Teddy Hart would be the greatest botchfest known to man.

People aren't necessarily referring to stuff like the XFL or WWF NY but things like foreign business, DVD sales, 24/7, etc., and yes, their movie arm since their films are made so cheaply that they can't do anything but break even, which is still a gain. OK, I gotcha on DVD sales and such, but I read The Marine cost $30 mil to make and didn't even scratch $20 mil. Seems like a huge loss, and it would have to do pretty lofty DVD numbers to break even, right? But that's just one instance so I digress. -

I've read on this board that WWE will never be in financial trouble no matter how badly the wrestling product suffers because of its other ventures. What are these other ventures? Some of the non-wrestling things the company has tried like WWF New York and The Marine have bombed BADLY. If WWE ever alienates enough fans, what would save it? -
Getting rid of Russo would be huge. I like the fact he tries to give everyone something meaningful, but he's like the scatterbrained/overly-ambitious friend we all have who starts a million projects w/o completing any. Plus he's too interested in stirring up shit with WWE. Don't alienate WWE fans, many of the people you're trying woo over. As for the UFC comparison, I could be wrong -- based on the people I know, they don't order UFC PPVs based on the main event. They order because it's UFC. That's how I was with WWF from 1998 to 2001.

Problem with working Mistico as a rudo right now anyway is the fans would totally shit on it. It'd be akin to Goldberg's attempted heel turn in 2000. CMLL bookers had no choice but to turn Atlantis because the fans were booing him so noticably.
-
I'd love to see a lucha movement in TNA. Mistico, Dr. Wagner Jr., any of Los GDI from CMLL; Banderas (Muerte Cibernetica), Laredo Kid, Chessman from AAA.
-
Two wrestling shows I don't care about going head-to-head! Thankfully ESPN has Super Tuesday until March To be fair though, I'll give WSX a chance. There's certainly talent on the roster with Ricky Banderas and some of the PWG roster.

My favorite ROH DVD ever is Manhattan Mayhem from the spring of 2005. If I had to pick one, that'd be it.
-
File that under reasons why WCW is no longer in business. This, too...the one, the only -- THE SHOCKMASTER!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7HLCrp1tk4&NR If I made a thread on why WCW went bankrupt it would be nothing but Hulk Hogan videos. So right on the money. The guy killed the best heel of the era (Vader); he was part of the Fingerpoke, the very moment that WCW became largely unwatchable for me; and he would not put over Sting cleanly at Starrcade '97, essentially WCW's beginning of the end. In other words, fuck Hulk brother.
-
I don't believe Mistico's done a dog collar match. Someone CMLL could conceivably build as his foil is Sangre Azteca. He's a great worker and his status as a rudo is building.
-
To each his own I guess. I'm not a fan of the TNA belts honestly, moreso the World than the X but I'm not a fan of either. The Bling Bling Belt to me is shit and symbolizes the former WWF's transition from wrestling to "sports entertainment."
-
This is so true. He's gone over Los GDI so many times none of them could conceivably go over him, and it wouldn't make sense to put any of the older guys like Atlantis over him. They need to establish a Lex Luthor rudo to his Superman tecnico.
