If you are referring to the IS ROCK BLACK GREAT DEBATE, than I'd have to agree. I could feel my IQ drop every time I read a post.

I always feel like the frat douchebags with Scarface posters who talk about how awesome Tony Montana was missed the point entirely. My feeling was Tony was supposed to be an example of greed, backstabbing, etc. being a bad thing ie leading to one's downfall.

WWE General Discussion - November 2007
Corkscrew_Senton replied to Craig Th's topic in The WWE Folder
The Memphis show drew maybe 5,000, but probably closer to half that. The whole thing was considered a disaster. Hogan's appeal is strictly nostalgia, and nothing more. Interesting, I was under the impression that show drew 10K. And I was under that impression because I read it online, but was we all know most of the online rasslin' sources are full of shit, so...yeah, moot point -

Just to clarify I by no means think Hogan will/would end up in TNA because no matter what he says, he and Vince will always hook back up. Vince knows exactly what I said, that Hogan one-offs bring in money, so he'll never say no to Hulk. I just don't think if something happens, ie Vince can't offer the kind of money wants due to the impending hearings, Hulk wouldn't show up in TNA for the guaranteed ego stroking. -

There's not that much capitalizing that needs to be done with Hulk Hogan, though. Basically have Hulk Hogan and fans will show because he has so much nostalgic and mainstream appeal. That show in Memphis that drew 10K is indicative of that. -

HTQ/CTP/You Guy, I hate Hogan but I'll readily admit him showing up in TNA would spike(no pun intended) the ratings and buy rates big time. And for a self-serving egonmaniac like Hogan, he can take the credit for TAKIN' TNA TO THE NEXT LEVEL BROTHER. -

Ouch. But...well...

It's a insider sugarcoating way of saying "Umm well so and so told me this...so I'm going to believe it's true even though I really have no idea if so and so was telling me the truth or not or if so and so actually knows what he or she is talking about...but when it really happens, meaning after it already happen at the tapings, then I'll be able to you I knew it way before anyone else did!" then it sugercoats suckers into buying a newsletter or being able to access "news" on their website when 75% of what that newsletter or site says is compete and total bullshit. I can't believe anyone would find this entertaining. I was sitting there watching this thinking how in the fuck can this shit be this damn bad. I don't know whats worse...the IDIOCY of all the angle bullshit or the fact that stupid motherfucking idiot tenay has to give a fucking PLAY BY PLAY of the dinner table and AJ putting on that stupid suit! "Aj slips one leg into the turkey suit...."... Holy fucking shit tna is so bad. how can anyone like this..this makes the mid 90s wwf look like the fucking 80s nwa. Fucking fucker fuckity fuck. Did you say fuck? FUCK. Sorry...Tenay and West just drive me absolutely crazy. I think Tna would be a lot more bearable to me if it wasn't for those two idiots. They are so bad that even if something is good, they make it horrible. Of course part of this is tna's management fault for making them read from a script and telling them how to call things but jesus christ they are without a doubt the worst team in wrestling history. I totally agree. It's too bad, because both have shown ability in the past. In the early PPV days, West was goofy but not obnoxious, and in WCW Tenay was great as the knowledgable color commentator. Now they're just abysmal.

Would anyone suggest Wrestling Society X?
Corkscrew_Senton replied to LivingLegendGaryColeman's topic in General Wrestling
I would hope so. The 'net show was actually quite a bit more entertaining than what made it to air. -

West in the early days was entertaining. I enjoyed the marky kind of commentator he played, but it was genuine mark as opposed to the shill he is now. -

I've never met Melissa, but I know a lot of people who have worked with her.....don't be to surprised if you never see her really make it to either TNA or WWE. Do tell. -
Maybe it's just the gimmick, but I thought Roxx SUCKED in what was a fairly good match. I forgot how well Gail Kim could go. She and Traci need to be the stars of their women's division. The tag match was really good, but I'd prefer 1. MCMG feud with LAX over the tag titles (fuck the Dudleys) and 2. Jimmy Rave was on his own.
-
If TNA used Pac-Man strictly as a heel manager, that could work. Get the tag titles off him, push Killings as a top tier threat for the title with Pac-Man at his side...could be gold.

Bound for Glory taking place in Atlanta
Corkscrew_Senton replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
Yeah, I really like Sting. He gets a lot of message board hate (though it's more DVDVR than here), but he does what other veterans *cough*Kurt Angle*cough* won't and use his status to elevate others. -
I'm pretty sure those guys in black at ringside fucking with the Briscoes were part of Project 161 and were part of the angle. Anyway, Lacey looked really good in her new goth-girl character and is Mark Briscoe missing some teeth? Oh yeah, I know the random dorks were part of the angle. Jacobs referring to them as his "army" and them yelling "AGE OF THE FALL!" randomly and retardedly (I don't care if it's not a word! ) made that clear. I just hope that's not a recurring part of this stable.
-
Wow, I just watched the Video Wire and was impressed. Reading the recap I wasn't sure what I'd think. Jacobs isn't someone I think of as a group leader but he came off great. The losers in black at ringside should stop for the future, though. All the ones yelling sounded like pre-pubescent kids and a few looked less intimidating than that. But anyway, I digress. Great video!

Approves. Them too. (Island of Dr. Moreau is sweet)

The wrestlers all start on the floor and have to fight to get into the ring. It sounds cool on paper, but in practice makes for a terrible match because you're constantly getting instances where wrestlers can very obviously get in the ring but because they're not supposed to, they have to stand around with their thumb up their ass trying to figure out a way to not get in the ring even though nobody is around to stop them. And because it was requested, though it's strictly a one-off, here's the latest Bryan and Vinny Show that reviews this edition of Impact, as well as ECW and Smackdown. The Impact review comes up first, so if that's all you're interested in, you can turn off after that, though I recommend listening to the whole show because it's great. Bryan and Vinny review Impact, ECW and Smackdown Thanks for posting this HTQ

If you hate the promotion so much why do you continue to watch it? It has Samoa Joe, Senshi, Alex Shelley, and Homicide. Plus, I find trainwrecks funny. What a moron. This is the sentiment on 'net wrestling boards that drives me crazy, these d-bags that talk about how much they HATE TNA, claim it's worse than WCW in '99/2000 which in itself is an idiotic claim. Yet they watch it. I hate WWE programming, I hate MTV, I hate Grey's Anatomy and guess what??? I DON'T FUCKING WATCH THEM. And don't take this as coming from some Impact Zone "TNA ROOLZ" jackass. I can tell you dozens of things wrong with TNA off the top of my head, and I generally agree with posters like HTQ who are equally frustrated by TNA's booking, but don't act like total jagoffs about it. If you "100% hate TNA," you wouldn't watch for Samoa Joe, Shelley, etc. because that wouldn't be 100%, now would it?
-
Fuck Angle. Seriously. To think Joe was "getting fucked" his first full year is ridiculous, typical ROH fan bashing TNA when it's apparent they weren't paying attention. TNA doesn't do much right, but Joe was one of the exceptions. A year ago at this time, I was positive he was being groomed as TNA's mega-face champion. But since KURT! showed up? Yeah, he's been fucked over badly since then.
-
Saying he's been fucked since Angle came in is accurate, but Joe's first year in TNA he was booked as an unstoppable bad ass. He was the company's most over face, he was dominant as X Division champion and he was in the company's hottest feud of '05 through the first half of '06.
