WM 13 itself was a pretty bad show, but the build-up to it was awesome. I actually prefer 1997 WWF to '98 when the Attitude era officially got going.

Examples of a Wrestler TRULY Being Put Over
Corkscrew_Senton replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
Was the ECW on TNN Lynn-RVD match at the Arena? I coulda swore that was at Hammerstein, but either way when that went the entire hour and ended with the Impact Players run-in, I was pissed -- and not in a "damn this booking" type way, but a "damn those heels!" mark-out kinda way. Corey, your mentioning Dreamer got me to thinking about his big title win in the spring of 2000. Boy the end of that sucked. Him losing the title IMMEDIATELY made sense because it went with Tommy's character, but god, why did it have to be Justin Credible??? I still can never grasp why Paul E. was so hellbent on getting Credible over. Looking at his ECW rap sheet is ludicrous: he got Sandman's cane, Sasuke's mask, beat Sid out of the company, had a long title reign. But beyond the Impact Players (which I admittedly loved) he seemed to be heatless with the fanbase. -
Indy wrestlers need to tone it down a notch

Fuck Super Dragon. Any time I've ever seen a Super Dragon match, I feared for the opponent's safety. -

Considering the most recent Benoit development, I can't get too excited with the stiff headshots. -

The leprechaun's the cruiserweight champ?! God, that is 1999 WCW levels of bad. -
WWE General Discussion - September 2007

Maybe he was one of the "other two" that was going to be suspended, but I heard that two turned into one, so Dinsmore may have been the "other." Who knows. JRs rant is fine and all, but nowhere in there does it suggest WWE was at fault for not catching the fact that these guys were on the shit and somehow, they cleared testing. It makes no fucking sense. EVIL MEDIA IS OUT TO GET WRESTLING! That's how that weak-ass shit reads to me. And while that's true to a certain extent, doesn't change the fact that Vince McMahon is a sleaze, and a vast majority of the company is on drugs and that's been a cause of many deaths. It's like that South Park when Ike was banging the Kindergarten teacher and she got out of it by claiming she was an alcoholic. One has nothing to do with the other. -
I don't know which is more frustrating -- old guys politicking, or this scenario. I know part of the reason Sting came in was to pass the torch, an opportunity that never really presented itself in WCW. It's a shame that didn't pan out.

Given? Eugene was Dismore's creation. Still stands that it was a creation that once in someone else's hands got screwed over. He was ultra-over upon debuting, then fed to HHH and immediately cooled. That wasn't his decision. -
Perla Negra agrees!

I pretty much agree that the boycott stuff is way overblown. TNA isn't as good as it could or should be, and I don't go out of my way to watch it right now. Kurt Angle's stuff is tough to watch. Still, I can't WWE and will watch TNA occasionally, and I find ROH to be just miserable lately.

Nothing's going to change unless Vince ends up in jail. I'm quite convinced of this. -
Can't speak for tigeraid, but for me: Kazarian - Awesome and he's getting a decent enough push...too bad it's buried under so much other crap. Michael Shane - Sucks in the ring, sucks on the mic, wouldn't miss him. Divine - Good worker, would like him to be in the X Division Eric Young - Was waaaay over but that was squandered on feuding with Roode way too long. Shark Boy - Awesome and needs to have comedy matches on the show regularly. Bring in Ebessan for a match; bring back Norman Smiley; bring in LA Park.
-
Tigeraid, I'm on the same page as you buddy.

Normally I hate YouTube comments, but this was brilliant.

Lawrence Phillips would forget it was a work and try to run over Samoa Joe for pinning him.

Cena's Popeye forearms are totally natural! And the funny thing is all this Wellness Policy bullshit, the egregious facade McMahon's putting on about getting tough with drug use. THE MAN HIMSELF IS JUICED OUT OF HIS FUCKING MIND. Obviously he doesn't think steroids are so bad if he's pumped to the gills on 'em himself, and of course if he's trashing non-users on live TV (surely we haven't forgotten 'Randy Orton's neck looks like a stack of dimes'?), again, he must not be all that opposed.

Form a stable with Vick, Pac-Man, Leonard Little and Tank Johnson, managed by O.J. Simpson. Guaranteed heat!
-
Only if a ref available but unfortunately Slick got KO'd in the first hour. Right, but Jeff Jarrett has the final say over everything and you know what that means....next week Lance Briggs will be in the front row. Crashing his Lamborghini into the TNA set? I'd watch that.

It really needs repeating...he's a major reason why TNA is bad right now. -

Kurt Angle's valuable input is part of the reason TNA is unwatchable. Just sayin'. -

I like Bernie Mac but not so much the show. It would have been infinitely better with Monty Brown randomly POUNCING~ the little fruity kid. -
Agreed. I now hold Kurt Angle in the same regard as HHH circa 2003 and Hulk Hogan from '98 on.

"I like it brah! But can we make Steph the mother?" Wrong! SHOCKING SWERVE #2~! Vince is actually Shane's MOTHER! He was born with both sets of genitalia, and that's why he constantly feels the need to brag about the size of his grapefruits! Who is Shane McMahon's father? Is it the 1989 Denver Broncos? Nah. It's the 1996 San Diego Chargers. That would explain a lot. Sean Salisbury shows women at ESPN his junk on camera phone...Vince McMahon shows women at WWE his junk on camera phone. Too bizarre to be a coincidence!

I'm pretty much done with wrestling. TNA has dumped on every talented worker on the roster and turned into WCW. WWE is run by a sick piece of shit who I can't stomach giving money or viewer ratings to. And my new work schedule conflicts with my lucha viewing. It's really sad to look at how much potential TNA had a year ago at this time, and how none of it was even close to met 12 months later.
