    CZW loses promoter's license

While it's annoying and all (and pretty darn suspect that this happened now after Rebel stopped wrasslin with CZW) it's not the worse news ever as apparently they have a second liscence already lined up (and Mike Quakenbush also has a license I belive - so I imagine they could use it) And fact of the matter, nudity isn't exactly an integral part of the show so it'll be pretty easy to do without. Perhaps CZW can spin this towards more heat for Blackout too.

    IWA Mid-South New Albany Results

I guess that'll supress the 'Hero to turn heel' rumours given the heel grouping of Dragon, Cannon, Shelley and McGuiness Seeing as they all have aproblem with him and especially based on the upcoming Dragon/Hero 60 min match it would be a real bad idea to turn him heel

    CZW 9/11 show thread

I realise this show was kinda touched on in the thread for last months show, but it's nice to have these things in there own threads to have comments on the updates and so on. Plus the other thread hadn't been updated recently. Matches announced for the afternoon show : Super Dragon vs. B-Boy vs. Excalibur vs. Bobby Quance Alex Shelley vs. Chris Hero Amazing Red & Sonjay Dutt vs. Jimmy Rave & M-Dogg20 Matches announced for the evening show : Kevin Steen vs. Sexxy Eddy vs. El Generico vs. Excess 69 B-Boy vs. King (Eddie Kingston) Ghost Shadow/Sprial vs. All Money Is Legal Matches announced for the day - but not which show they're on : Necro Butcher vs. Wifebeater - 4 Corners of Pain (Glass/Thumbtacks/??/??) - Special Guest Referee : Lobo JC Bailey vs. Chris Ca$h vs. Nate Webb - Ladder Match Messiah vs. Justice Pain Mike Quakenbush, Gran Akuma, Icarus, Mister Zero and Shane Storm vs. BlackJack Marciano, Jigsaw, Hallowicked, Ultramantis Black & "Sweet & Sour" Larry Sweeney Ian Knoxx vs. Adam Flash - Cage Match Ruckus & Sabian vs. The Maximo Brothers (SATs) People announced but with no match Mike Quackenbush, Mr Zero, Hallowicked & Larry Sweeney from Chikira The shows are certainly looking interesting, and this whole thing is a big gamble for CZW as ROH are running 45 minutes away and the evening show is a PPV taping. Looks like they're really making use of non-ROH talent, not quite sure where to stand on the addition of the SATS. Red is no longer quite the same but the other 3 in the match should be able to pull out something good. I haven't seen the Maximos for ages - no idea if they've improved or not. More matches to be announced, the ROH guys will be on the afternoon show apparently. Hopefully they'll make the West Coast 4 way for an Ironman shot in the evening show as Hero vs. any of those guys would be great. I think at this moment in time however it's a matter of waiting and seeing.

    Tip or go to jail

I like England - we tip for good service. Makes things less confusing. Although we are slowly going the way of the US, enforced gratuity and expected tippage is beginning to rear it's ugly head.

    CZW 9/11 show thread

Justice Pain is the same guy. And yeah, it's wrestling, the word never doesn't really mean anything. Although admitedly I'm suprised they didn't do it earlier - there's such a ready made storyline for him (which they're currently pulling off quite nicely IMHO) Messiah's doing good at the moment. For a while last year they didn't seem to have much to do with him aside from as a leader of the main heel group (but they didn't really have him wrestle much - just talk). But this year seems to be shaping up well. He's had some good defences against Homicide and B-Boy, by all accounts the match with JP wasn't too bad and hopefully his match against Kaos will be pretty fun too.

    DVD Steals & Deals

Damn, did that not get any notice at all in the US? Personally I think it's better than 28 Days Later and since it was in a similar veign (low budget brit horror but rather good) I thought it might have got some form of following / attention. Worth a view just for how it blends a really good survival horror with bits of comedy that you would imagine wouldn't work (e.g Matrix references and a gross-out comedy segment with a dog)

    Where should I go Saturday?

CZW is doing 2 shows - so actually the amount of matches released is a little limited.

    Where should I go Saturday?

Depends what style you like really. ROH offers the more technical / pure style with bits of other styles. CZW offers more mixed styles with a little more emphasis on spot based matches. ROH will probably have the better matches workrate / tech wise (although Shelley/Hero and the West Coast 4 way will be fairly good) but I'd personally have more fun at CZW just due to the range of whats on and crazyness that will no doubt be there. You strike me as a guy who would probably enjoy CZW more (e.g in 3PW you said you weren't terribly into Chris Daniels & AJ Styles - and also said that you enjoyed Ruckus' stuff) but thats speculation based on reading previous posts, I could well be wrong. Fact of the matter is - if transport isn't a problem - the CZW tickets are inclusive for the 2 shows and ROH is unlikely to sell out. So go to the afternoon CZW show - if you like it stick around - if you don't head up to ROH.

    Okay, look.

How'd the shrooms treat ya? I did em once and felt so royally fucked while on them that I doubt I would do them again. The only time I ever tried them, I bugged out so much I even thought killing myself. And I got dumped that morning. Worst. Day. Ever. You had a lousy trip because you ate them when you were down about getting dumped. Hallucinogenics don't automatically make you happy. They make you more whatever you were to begin with. Yeah that's pretty much true. I started off depressed one time when I took Ecstasy, and attempted my only real suicide attempt ever. Dangerous stuff.......... I thought Extacy was a stimulant - not a hallucinogen

    CZW 9/11 show thread

Big old Chikara match announced and I rejigged some of the original lineup due to it turning out that we really don't know on which show most matches are. Also, it's been heavily suggested on the CZW site that their will be H8 Club vs. Blackout in a weapons cage match.

The Story of XTREME PRO WRESTLING

Yup, completely unbiased article there. Absolutely no 'every bad story about XPW will be disputed with the TRUTH~! where XPW is never in the wrong' vibe coming from it (especially not with all those Super Dragon comments) XPW hasn't even been talked about dude. What do you expect me do - lambast Rob Black for having three girlfriends before finding the right one? Sheesh. Did you see where I said 'vibe coming from'? I wasn't stating that it was definately super biased. I was stating that the comments you have made so far (in this thread and the previous one) made the 'unbiased is the way to go' comment amusing because it seems it won't. I probably could have been less harsh with my responce though, the articles are still interesting - I just don't expect them to be a totally unbiased look at XPW - especially with how you've portrayed certain things up until now.

    FUCK THE PUSSY WHIP BITCHES

Surely you'd have to be pretty slow on the uptake not to realise what that meant. And that it's not worth leaving a Bikini Contest early to go and get dumped.

    IWA MS question

I believe American Kickboxer retired due to injuries and then was planning a return. I'm not exactly clear on this and no doubt someone who knows better can elaborate but I'm pretty sure he retired and then recently he posted on DVDR trying to drum up some hype 'ala Teddy Hart but good hype' through the internet (as he claimed). Dunno what happened following that

    CZW 9/11 show thread

No NWATNA wrestlers will be on matches that appear on PPV - however they can still work the shows.

50 Cent Booed Offstage At Reading

The Streets (not rap - but closer to rap than rock), The Roots, J5 were all on the main stage where 50 was. Format & Abdominal, Dizzy Rascal, Rahzel and other rap-ish acts where also playing elsewhere at the festival. There were also plenty different styles of music that weren't rock. None of them got a bad reaction. It wasn't so much a dislike for a different style of music but a dislike for the commercialisation and what 50 represents in music in terms of money vs. music. Bear in mind, I didn't fully agree with the booing and stuff - but that was the opinions presented of people I spoke to who had been throwing bottles and the like.

    This move looks sick..

I always thought the flipping piledriver had elements of realism behind it. A piledriver is an obvious move and is easily reveresed - most wrestlers would be able to counter it and guess it's coming. However, the flipping one is setup like a powerbomb and is hard to reverse once the momentum is carrying the opponent - thus the only conclusion is for them to land on their head. Especially when Petey was less known this made even more sense because the opponent wouldn't be expecting it. And surely it makes about as much sense as a Code Red (then again - I guess no-one is defending that), being that if your gonna do some flippy back move thing then it might as well land your opponent on their head than back - more dangerous and more likely to win the match.

    ROH 8/28 Boston

Outside of the fact that it provides overkill in a match with many people the 'dive onto opponents' to win stip did actually make a lot of sense - and in fact I would have suggested some rule to say that the same dive could not be used twice for a win or something. The problem being in these big spot matches is that outside of it looking pretty there isn't a terrible amount of psychology towards doing all these pretty flips whereas this dive rule actually would explain why if their opponent is dazed enough for someone to climb the cage (even more so in non-tag combat) the guy doesn't just pin said dazed opponent. In mark mode speaking, i'd love to see Delerious or Matt Sydal in it. Delerious hitting his back splash off the cage would be an awesome spot to do, or tease given it would probably be hard to pull off without breaking the opponent's back or Delerious' chest/ribs

    Amalgamated Spoon

The guy on the radio just said that a good way to get to sleep is to put your feet in a bath on salty hot/warm water for a bit. I have absolutely no idea whether it works (sposed to take the blood from your head or something). S'worth a try. The worst that could happen is your feet will smell like the sea for a few days, you could pretend you're a pirate.

    Is something haunted near you?

I live in England. Everything haunted in England. Someone published a book listing the 20 odd spots in my small town ('bout 13000 people) that are haunted. Funny thing is I've hung out at many of them fairly late and never seen nuffink.

Ralph Fiennes cast in Harry Potter 4

I never could stand Maggie Smith, Kenneth Branagh was fairly decent in Rabbit-Proof Fence, the only non-Potter thing I've seen John Hurt in is Spaceballs, and all the kids are typical Annoying Movie Kids. Although the casting is getting better, with Oldman added to this one, and Fiennes and Brendan Gleeson in the next one Aha, so when you said 'insistant on good actors' you meant 'insistant on actors that I like or know of'

    CZW on PPV

Wait for the lineup. The UV/Garbage stuff that puts so many people off is now a far more minor part of the fed and the focus is more on the wrestling which is getting to be real good with the roster they've got. However, they focus more on the hardcore in the PPV so it's up to you if you like that style
