This is laughable. Yeah, they have some fun guys like Shelley and Quance now, but the creative direction is terrible, attendances are nowhere near what they once were, etc. It's not like CZW is riding some huge wave of momentum into PPV. This sounds like the first nail to me. You missed my point. I wasn't talking about the overall product in terms of storylines or anything. I was saying that their situation now compared to their situation when they initially suggested a PPV is very different. Whilst they still have their flaws (although hopefully this new booked might spell a change for the 'crappy storylines' criticism) their situation in terms of wide reaching fanbase and knowledge of the company, plus resources at their disposal (and again, I'm not talking wrestlers) is different. I'm not making them out to be more than they are or anything, I'm not entirely sure this idea is for the best myself. However, to compare this PPV venture to the previous one is laughable.

That was quite a while ago and seems like a fairly different situation. CZW is far more solidly based than 3 years ago and doesn't seem to have nay plans for 'big non regular names' (ala Terry Funk) to sell this show on. For someone who was a big repeater of the 'ignore what XPW has done in the past, look at the greatness of what they do now' you sure seem unwilling to forget about other promotions mistakes (ones which many people don't remember /know about anyway because it was a while back)

Which IWS guys? (It says at the top) Sexxxy Eddy vs. Kevin Steen vs. El Generico vs. Excess69

I'm really hoping CZW capitalise on what looks like another regular 3 month boon. Normally, after a few fantastic, well promoted shows they decide 'Fuck It' and just throw random shit out for the next couple. Either way, August show looks amazing and I'm really really looking forward to the IWS 4 way. All 4 guys work a fantastic mix of flying, bumping, wrestling and innovative moves. Mixed together, and with a large stage, the match could be a fantastically exciting mix of wrestling.

Sonjay vs. Rave has been added based off Rave's win at BoTB4 The talent also appearing The show is stacked. Theres all sorts of interesting combinations of guys there with varying styles. I love how after putting on two shows set in two styles in the last month CZW is putting on a really mixed card with all sorts of styles and some interesting mixes too.

We give them the extra hours with which there would be no feeding for their family. And there is a point to smoking - it's pleasurable. From before any semblance of an addiction began to manifest itself - it was pleasurable, thats why I started and thats why I continue. I guess you could say theres no point in any human excess; why not just eat the same basic meat, veg, bread and water everyday, exercise and just exist (whats the point of doing anything else - you just run the risk of shortening your life - they found a diet that could lengthen human life by many years - but it involves eating miniscule amounts of grain, so no-one does it, trading off the long life for pleasurable one) Plus smoking looks cool, which is a massive point in it's favour
-
Ah, but on the flip side; it makes money in taxes, provides community jobs for road sweepers to clear butts and also prevents alzheimers. All of which benefit the community. Thing I hate about the 'anti-smoking' argument that most often crops up is the "But it's entirely pointless, why do it". The possibility that smokers perhaps may enjoy smoking doesn't cross the non-smokers mind. To the non-smoker it's very clear cut : Start smoking to look cool -> Become addicted -> Die.

A not very noticable Brit here. Wilcard entry or something.

All the leads in 'Human Traffic'. I spent a large portion of the film hoping that really bad things would happen to them to give the film some sort of meaning, then I realised the film would be comprised of them producing the same 'I take drugs me - isn't that great' drivel throughout.

"Oil Spill recipe 3/4 shot Goldschlager 1/4 shot Jagermeister Carefully layer jagermeister on top of the goldschlager in a shot glass. 41% (82 proof) Serve in: Shot Glass" I know I have heard it called something other then this or "Starry Night" but I can't put my goddamn finger on it........must have something to do with all the drinking. How does mixing a 40% (Goldschlager) and 35% (Jagermeister) create a 41% proof alchohol (although I'm guessing the proofs must be slightly different in the US or something) In Canada apparently the Jagerschlager is called 'Liquid Cocaine' (due to the blank looks I received upon ordering a Jagerschlager). Love Jager (drunk on the rocks) and am just happy I've managed to get hold of some (in Ireland - it seems to be virtually impossible to buy by bottle in the UK)

Arsenal vs. Bailey could be match of the tournament if it happens, although I partly don't want to see it due to the fact it means only one could get through to the tournament. Butcher/Bailey/Gage final suits me, I quite like the 3 way final idea as it gives real interesting possible final matches.

Looks very interesting, I was really hoping the IWS guys might make an appearance but thought there was problems between the two feds. Great to see them and it's nice to mix things up a little from the standard DM workers. Not sure if Zandig vs. New Jack is still included (especially since we're probably looking at 3 ways to open it). It's fairly easy to guess some of the guys they'll use (Beater, Gage, Zandig) but theres lots of other possibilities including IWA-MS guys, possible inclusions of some CZW guys who haven't done DM before (Knoxx and Ca$h have been doing the bumping though - and Knoxx appeared in a UV 6 man in Italy) and Ryuji Ito is apparently going to work CZW at some point so he's another possibility.
-
He won a 2nd round match vs. Nick Gage to enter the third round. The order of the tourney is a little screwey due to people pulling out and an inability to put together a tournament match last month (due to running at the same time as several other feds). B-Boy was supposed to face Mafia but was swapped with Gage who was supposed to face Joker (who went to Iraq). B-Boy, Whitmer and Chris Hero are now in the 2nd round, I'm guessing they'll do a 7th 1st round match to get the final 2nd round guy Ah, the perils of an 11 month tournament.
-
Apparently Maff said he wanted to do the match 'CZW style' and got the fans to throw chairs into the ring.
-
Necro and Zandig are the last two names.
-
Well now it's been leaked the WWE will no doubt reverse said decision and keep the title on Bradshaw for a long long time.
-
I'm guessing one of them will probably try to prove themselves over the course of the event. It's shaping up quite nicely (especially when you consider theres only a 2 person crossover with KoTDM at the moment - unlike last years) with lots of young guys who wrestle the DM style I prefer (less smashing, more exciting wrestling and innovation with the DM stuff)

Good Omens is also co-written with Terry Pratchett and contains a nice mix of the two writer's styles which really compliment each other. I actually read the last Sandman TPB first and didn't find it too hard to keep track of what had happened (although it did catch you up on some stories). I also read a kind of standalone TPB (I haven't read everything so don't quite know how it links) which seemed to be set in the Sandman universe (various travellers end up stuck in some inn and tell stories to pass the time)

Failed. Please give up.

I realise they're pushing Ruckus and the like but given the lineup of the tourney having 4 matches that involve Ruckus seems like such a waste of talent (not saying he's really bad or anything - just fairly repetitive) Theres some really interesting possible matchups and everything seems a little more uncertain than previous years which makes it more fun.

I'm guessing the fact that ib hasn't done one of the many things which would result in an immediate banning (pick person. wish death. sorted.) means that he still thinks/hopes the banning countdown is a some form of a joke

Movies worth owning for just one part
ulfistgut replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
What was wrong with the rest of the film? As if the only good thing in it was the over-the-top gun battle...? Bad acting, bad dialogue, awful slow pacing, the film being a mess of stolen ideas from elsewhere, plot holes, the 'emotionless' thing not working (because everyone showed emotions). I went into it really expecting to enjoy it but just found it pretty much completely unentertaining. However, I'm not gonna ruin this thread by debating the good/bad of the film as it's a really fun thread sofar. I realise lots of people did enjoy it so I imagine there would be much debating (plus I haven't seen the film for 2 years or so and thus can't remember as much about it as I would like to remember where I going to argue the film's merit) -
The way you came out with the 'CZW has lost it's Buzz' line made you sound like one of those RoH fanboys who'd say the same sort of thing - rather than arguing the points they'd push blame / focus on anyother promotion or something else. From the sounds of it, that wasn't how your comment was intended
-
This is the sign you have made a bad thread.

CZW loses and gains a new buzz approximately every 3 months. It has nothing to do with this show which is a progression of some really nasty setbacks ROH have encountered and just a weirdly booked show that had been super hyped. Trying to distract attention from your favourite promotion's current problems by pointing out a rival promotion is just silly.
