It's pretty obvious Orton is going to win this thing.

    TSM Profile: Marc Mero

    1. In the long run, do you think Sable and his ensuing feud with her (the in-ring one) helped or hurt his career? I think it helped his career to be honest, At the time Austin, Foley, and Triple H thought he pretty much sucked and was pissed he was getting paid more than all of them. If the Sable thing didn’t take off they probably would’ve forced him out backstage. 2. Let's play the "What if" card. What if Marc Mero wasn't plagued with consistant injury problems through out his WWF stint? Would he have reached similar heights as the men he had joined WWF alongside; Mankind and Mick Foley (remember Mero was perhaps the most hyped of the three when they entered the company in the first part of '96)? Would he have maintained the mid-card position he had in late '96/early '97? I don’t know, I honestly think Vince’s vision with Marc was making him a better version of Randy Savage. The gimmick seemed like a very cheap rip off of Savage/Elizabeth in 1996. It didn’t exactly play out that way and Sable became the star of the group, looking back I don’t see how being healthy would have really changed that. Again, he had the locker room against him. 3: What was best; the WCW run as Johnny B. Badd or the WWF run as Wild Man/Marvelous Marc Mero? I'm assuming no one will consider his XWF or TNA runs the highlight of his career. WWF I loved his work with Hunter and Steve Austin. Plus I loved his whole feud with Sable he was awesome in that role. 2. In twenty years, what will he be best remembered for? His in-ring career or his role as a straight shooting media gadfly (and the list of guys he wrestled who died) after the Benoit murders-suicide? He will be remembered as a guy who got over because of his wife. 5. Now the obligatory final question; Favorite matches, moments, etc. Austin King of the Ring 1996.

WWE General Discussion - January 2009

I still say that this Orton-McMahon program soooooo doesn't need the Heavyweight Championship. The angle itself is already already shaping up to be bigger than anything else going into WrestleMania. The big championship matches can be their own draw. You don't think Vince will sell "The Punt" a couple months?

    Finish Him!

Why is it Sweet Chin Music is more "deadly" than a regular Superkick, or Jake Roberts' DDT/Raven's Evenflow/Dreamer's DDT more effective than a regular DDT? This point can be made about any move that is used as a finisher. What if someone were to use a punch as a finisher?

I don't like Joe either, but he is over and the PPV'S he headline do do good numbers as faras TNA is concern. I just feel now more than any other time in TNA' history, they need to focus on the young guys. The MEM angle could be sabotaged because of injury, Nash might lose an elbow, Steiner can't even take a back bump and from what I read he can't even sit a car without going through a routine, because of his back. Sting has a bum leg, which I don't see getting better any time soon, Booker is in decline, Foley has basically said he can only work tag team matches right now, because of injury, and Angle at the rate he is going is on the verge of becoming this generations Dynamite Kid or worse. This is the time for TNA to seriously consider going all out with the AJ, Joe, MCMG, Lethal, and Homicide, by giving them all serious pushes and committing to it. The thing is you're going to have to build those guys from scratch for them to be taken seriously again. So for right now, they should be grooming Hernandez to be the face of the company, he's the only guy they haven't managed to ruin and he has a ton of potential to work with. He is powerful, has agility, and charisma. They should be protecting him right now, and building him up as the main guy. They could easily let him convincingly run through the Mafia, which ends with him winning the title; I believe the fans will by an angle like that. The thing is TNA doesn't have the balls to take chances like this, so they rather keep the belt on Sting who can barely move, only to give the title to Angle who is on a mission to cripple himself, and doesn't even know if he's even going to be there the end of this year. This will eventually conclude in a match with Sting vs. Angle for the title down the road, something we have seen before, and although it did work before, I don't see how it could be the least bit effective this go round. At the end of the day, TNA will be in the same boat, which really doesn't make any sense.

The same could be said about Hornswoggle. The thing is AJ has been booked horrible, Joe has been outright destroyed, Abyss is a joke, and what happened to Tomko (before the Japan incident) was downright moronic. I have no reason to believe Hernandez will be given a fair shot, eventhouigh he clearly has the potential to do some big things for TNA. As far as my feelings on the product go. I haven't liked many of the shows overall, I did like some things every now and then, but the bad always outweighs the good in my opinion.

    On Going IMPACT! Spoilers

The shows are often as bad as the spoilers. Why should I have confidence that TNA won't fuck this up? TNA track record is poor in elevating guys, there is no reason I should feel differently about Hernandez. Look at Tomko, Joe, Abyss, AJ Styles, and others TNA have fucked up. I read the spoilers every week, TNA fucked up every week. It's amusing that people always defend these morons with the same "We don't know it's bad, until we watch it' bullshit, especially when you take in consideration that 9 times out of 10 it is always horrible.

    On Going IMPACT! Spoilers

It was a stupid way to book the Hernandez FOF angle. If their serious about pushing a guy, then they should do things to make the guy feel important. The way they started off Sunday with Hernandez was brilliant. He squashed 3 guys at one time and looked dominate. They should've stayed on that track for a few months, Hernandez steam rolling over guys week after week, would have instantly gave him a ton of credibility and when he finally decided to cash in his briefcase it would've been a big deal. It's simple, but doing things that are simple and makes sense is TNA's kryptonite.

    On Going IMPACT! Spoilers

Seeing as Sting could barely move these days, I doubt "Hernandez took it to him". They should have saved Hernandez title shot until after Kurt wins it at AOA, him and Kurt could've have had a nice little match, that Kurt would win by the skin of his teeth and Hernandez would come out looking like a million bucks.
