    JoeDirt's old school match thread

This match is really a disappointment, I've watched about 10 times and it still does nothing for me.

How to book the rest of 08

The thread asked what would happen if I was in charge of Raw. The reason I would bring RVD back if I was in charge is because everyone on Raw bores me in their current roles, and RVD doesn't. Also, both times that he's been well booked for more than a couple months (summer/fall 2001 and spring/summer 2006), he's been extremely over, moreso than any face has been on Raw since he left. Cena's over in his own way, but I want a traditional face champion, one that's cheered by males 18-35 in addition to children and women. That's supposed to be the WWE's target demographic, and they've been left too long without someone they can cheer for. I think a lot of them are just turning off the product completely for that very reason. You know, there's really no reason that RVD isn't in the WWE right now in the first place other than that the bookers don't like him and won't find anything for him to do in the main event. Well, I could definitely find something for him to do in the main event, and if I offered him a 6-month title reign starting a month after he came back, I'm sure RVD would be more than happy to wrestle on Raw every week. Or its probably because he was caught with dope when he finally got the title, and he's also not too good of a wrestler

WWE General Discussion - February 2008

I'm guessing because of Spygate, Clemons, and Jason Kidd's trade controversy its not really a big story now, but since it was on ATH and PTI today, I'm sure it'll pick up in the next 5 1/2 weeks. So because there's other big sports stories, it isn't getting any play? There's ALWAYS going to be big stories. There will be injuries, spring training, NFL draft, more trial stuff, NBA season winding down, etc. There's never not going to be something going on. Mayweather isn't a big mainstream name. Sports fans know him, but that's about it. Having Baseball favorite player being outed by his 2 best friends as a cheat is a very big story. Having the best team in football (arguably) being sued for cheating their way to a Superbowl ring, is a very big story. Shaq 1st game for the Suns is a pretty big story. Jason Kidd getting held up because 2 players rom Dallas are acting like pricks is a big story. If the stories were just about "Injuries, the draft, spring training, and the NBA season winding down" and Mayweather didn't get much coverage, then you would have a valid point, but thats not the case there is some really big stories in sports right now and wrestling is not a top priority. When Floyd was being asked by White to join UFC, after making some comments about how MMA was a joke, it made ESPN. So I see no reason why him being involved in wrestling wouldn't make it, unless it was some huge stories going on. If anything its not Floyd fault, if could be nobody wants anything to do with pro wrestling.

Ali would jab your face into submission Mike Jordan would also dunk his head through the basket. Mayweather Boxer of the Year. This angle is getting better and better.

    That was all Punk.

I would agree with that, but I think him out popping DX and The Hardy's at Survivor series really set the tone.

They couldn't find a better concept for a MMA movie, than "Never Back Down"?

I like the way they timed Floyd's punches to Show with the music.

I do miss the heel partners who hate each other aspect of that duo, though. Yeah I missed that too, but it almost got them fired.

I called for Mini Vince in the 2008 prediction thread, it has to happen. Is Colin going to get any offense in?

I didn't recognize him, that was a awesome gimmick Puder had in OVW. Heyman's whole run was pretty damn great.

That was the best execution of Kofi's finisher yet, Jason Riggs was kind of impressive.

WWE General Discussion - February 2008

They will by mania, The Clemons, Mcnamee, and Pettittee Love triangle is getting most of the attention now, but I'm sure Mayweather will pop a buyrate. I'm kind of baffled that you know Roy Jones and not Mayweather, its kind of odd. It still doesn't really dismiss the fact that he's very well known, and is a very big deal. Isn't Cena about to leave again too shoot a new movie?

Mysterio to have surgery, out 4-6 months

I just thought it was so obvious that it didn't even need to be discussed. Yeah, thats what I was thinking too. Same could be said for Taker, HBK, and Batista.

He is very cool, as is Roy Jones, Holyfield, Tarver, Mosley, Foreman, Lewis and De La Hoya. I've met them all, and they're all more appreciative to their fans than Wrestlers are. I've met more asshole wrestlers than any other form of sports, its odd, because you'd think wrestlers would be more humle, and the legit big sport stars would be more like assholes.

Mysterio to have surgery, out 4-6 months

For the last year I've said if Rey is going to retire anytime soon, his last match should be with Mistico at a Wrestlemania, that would be the perfect ending for Rey.
